Passion(ata) ~ Habs vs. Sabres Preview 10/18

Yes, I lent her my shirt for this pic.
~ ~ ~

Go read some classic Todd (about) ripping mclame.
Back soon ...
~ ~ ~
... and we're back.
~~~
Habs (1-2-1) vs. Sabres (3-1-0) is usually a spirited affair. Especially, when Lindy Ruff sends his goons out in the final minutes. Regardless, Buffalo is touted as a favourite this year (tainted by Bettman already?) so our Canadiens will be in for a battle with the ugly city of fires and murders and Bills! Not to mention the refs usually tilt the games because of Lindy's rough exteriour. Of course its all an act but it is bought and sold. Bottle it and sell some to CHocula, the man with little to no passion/spirit. ComebacKirk!
Previews from tsn, rds, nhl, pukes. juce, puck drop is 19h10ish-ish.
G-men ~ Silver Miller vs. 99-win TFS™
D-men ~ need to tighten things up in their own end. BTW, PFK! will be OK.
O-men, PatCHes is proving perseverance pays. Score, score, score some more!
A-men ~ for our faithful FHFriends.
Hi-man, is it 4:20 yet?
Ass-man, that's me.
Class-men.
Crass-man, that's feschukitup.
Wooh!-man, step up to the Bar.
Butt-man, me again.
    I don't care for tonight's game...and when that usually happens, they win, but now that I've mentioned it, I just jinxed it. So they lose. Again.
    Sorry for my pessimistic view on tonight's game but...I'm so meh about the Habs lately...
    GYFHG...
  5. Patty Hearst heard the burst from Roland's Tommy Gun and bought it.
    Choucula read FHF the sequel and will pair Jorges and PFK for tonites big soiree.
    And Jorges needs a nickname, one easy to spell. How about Zorro?
    ReplyDelete
  6. Okay maybe Chocolaty reads JT more than 4HF the sequel
    ReplyDelete
  7. Hadulf12:18 PM
    I've always called Jorges "Gorgeous Jorges"...typical and easy, I know, but it sounds like a 70's boxer...And you don't fuck with 70's boxers. I don't know why but you just DON'T!
    WV: Latizz and Gentlemen...LLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    1. Maybe if we lose a few more Chocula gets turfed!!?!!
    2. Being as Hurley's is a PHucking maze, should one spot not be designated for the meet & greet W/ The Maritimer?
    I want them to win as much as anybody, but the silver lining behind every loss is another nail in Chokula's coffin.
    I hate making predictions but Ryan Miller does them in tonight.
    And Ruff out coaches Martin most of the times anyway.
    Looking forward to Saturday!
    ReplyDelete
  16. moe,
    According to McSplooge Crosby ain't playing on Thursday.
    The M,
    There won't be any nails in his coffin with the D that he's currently icing. Not a chance.
    ReplyDelete
  17. Could have been because I was using firefox.
    Oh and does ice cream credit transfer to this new blog? That's my suggestion for today
    ReplyDelete
  18. @gillis, re: la crème glacée, you'll have to go back to previous posts as I mention that 29 squeezed the life out of the original FHF 200+1 comments prize.
    ReplyDelete
  19. @moeman its shelter from the storm, no meth, no cannibis but what is the alternative, silence. And there will always be the promise of the end.
    ReplyDelete
  20. Nice opening from TSN, "the Habs are squandering important points". Really? We haven't fucking noticed. Thanks for the reminder.
    ReplyDelete
    ReplyDelete
  31. Score you fuckers
    ReplyDelete
  32. @Gilles Price does wear his pads for three periods, aside from that, nothing.
    ReplyDelete
  33. This team redefines boredom. I would rather play rubix cube with an octogenarian than watch another minute of this crap.
    ReplyDelete
  34. HF4 is playing with don cherry?
    ReplyDelete
  35. So, anyone know whats up with Damphousse's domestic abuse case? Just thought about it since he's with the guys on RDS.
    ReplyDelete
  44. @HF4 Thx. Not that I care, just seeing him made me think of. Believe his wife was also charged (not sure though).
    ReplyDelete
  45. Miller the killer!
    ReplyDelete
  54. My wine has jump tonight too. Opened a bottle of Jacobs Creek Shiraz (screw top) The little seal underneath popped and hit the ceiling. Must have been bottled last week.
    ReplyDelete
  55. the Maritimer8:59 PM
    Good tilt with MOEnmaN and McCormick.
    I'm waiting for the true heavyweights to go at it. Desharnais and Gerbe. Let's GO!!!
    ReplyDelete
  56. Nice Moey. Most Aussie wines are now screw-topped. Leading the CHarge, they are.
    ~~~
    Shitty goal.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Also, try the Jacobs Creek Chard-based bubbly.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Price is to deep in his net

    ReplyDelete
  59. the Maritimer9:02 PM

    Fuck!

    ReplyDelete
  60. the Maritimer9:05 PM

    I wonder if Gomehs realizes yet he is now the third line center? I feel bad for Gionta to have that boat anchor for a center.

    ReplyDelete
  61. moe,

    Is that a rose wine? (I don't have a french keyboard)

    ReplyDelete
  62. goMeh!s... I like it. First time I've seen that

    Well, what now Chokula?

    ReplyDelete
  71. At least we are getting great chances, just cant bury the biscuit.

    ReplyDelete
  72. @gillis, funny stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  73. http://www.witstream.com/#

    ReplyDelete
  74. moe,

    Agreed.

    The M,

    C'mon man. Maybe he should switch goalies.

    ReplyDelete
  75. the Maritimer9:19 PM

    Pacioretty aside, if this team had some scorers who could bury their chances, this fucking game is over.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Team has had o fin(n)ish since Saku left town. I blame BR and his bleu buddies.

    ReplyDelete
  77. the Maritimer9:24 PM

    @Moey, what, can we get Miller???

    ReplyDelete
  78. L Dude9:26 PM

    Hmm, where have I seen this movie before? Dominate first half of game with nothing to show for it, miss a few open nets, let in a couple of soft ones, and another 1 in the L column. FUCK!

    I am lovin' me some Patches and DDD. Not another Hab stands out, but nice 1st NHL goal by Diaz.

    I should be drinking too...

    ReplyDelete
  79. MaxPac: 7 shots
    GoMeh!s: 2 shots and -1
    Gionta: ditto

    pathetic

    ReplyDelete
  80. and my WV was "offers"

    I think its trying to say something about gomehs

    ReplyDelete
  81. the Maritimer9:30 PM

    @moe, I never understood why Gainey let his Captain walk. He is better than Gomehs ever thought of being.

    I don't buy any of the bullshit that Squid only came to Montreal because of the "trade". I think there were 30 million other reasons he signed. Letting Saku go was a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  82. moe,

    Stop it or I'll start crying.

    The M,

    Go for it, then I'll convince Bylsma to get behind the bench.

    But more importantly, WTF does it mean when you've had an itchy big toe for a year?

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think Gainey wanted to shake things up. He did but he also cut out the heart.

    ReplyDelete
  84. L Dude9:34 PM

    +1 to moeman and Maritimer about Saku. Some players are meant to ride out their careers in one uni. Saku was one of those guys. I could name a few other Habs over the past 25 years in that boat too mind you.

    C'mon boys bring this thing back around!!!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous9:35 PM

    who just did that JC Tremblay pass??? I love those

    ReplyDelete
  86. Moey, less hosiery, also, too, if flaky patches on toe skin, add cream.

    ReplyDelete
  87. There's only one word that can describe the amount of effort put into this game, and if anyone guesses it I will transfer you all my FHF ice cream credits promised to me by 29

    ReplyDelete
  88. moe,

    Exactly, he threw the baby out with the bathwater. Looks like our Saku and his mate Teemu are still shaking things up in Anaheim.

    ReplyDelete
  89. gillis, is the word, meh

    ReplyDelete
  90. ice cream credits are non-transferable gillis!

    watched periods 1 and 2 in a bar. there was no sound, but still im underwhelmed

    ReplyDelete
  91. One can feel the air being sucked out of the Bell.

    ReplyDelete
  92. moe,

    It's neither. I got bitten a year ago by some tropical bug. It's still bothering me. More wine might help.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @29: Fine by me. And its better a bar without sound then the ones that crank the volume up all the way so that no one could forget that the habs are losing

    ReplyDelete
  94. Moey, tried Gold Bond?

    GYFHG!!

    ReplyDelete
  95. the Maritimer9:46 PM

    @Moey, forget Bylsma, I want Muller back. The Molsons can get him a translator.

    @moe, the last time they cut out the heart was when they traded the afore mentioned Muller. A Corey panic move.

    @L Dude, exactly, I hate that fucking useless Mexican wearing #11.

    ReplyDelete
  96. More wine always helps Moey!!!

    I think on 4HF the tradition should be if we get to 200 comments, we get free wine

    ReplyDelete
  97. Wine is more expensive than ice cream. I know, it ships better.

    Also, Go Jets!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Diazzling is out-PFKing PFK! Will CHocula pull in the reins?

    ReplyDelete
  99. ahh, the dump in on the PP. a CHokula classic

    ReplyDelete
  100. Big, Bad, tainted brooms lost, again. Someone call Collie!

    ReplyDelete
  101. MaxPac now has 9 shots. The habs had trouble getting 9 shots as a team in a game last year

    ReplyDelete
  102. the Maritimer9:55 PM

    This whole game is a CHokula classic.

    He's probably got a Sherwood just watching it.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I think there's leftover Tsao's CHicken in da fridge ...

    ReplyDelete
  104. moe,

    Do you really think Gold Bond would work against some hairy venom spewing Harry Potter type insect? I'll stick to wine.

    ReplyDelete
  105. sounds like a funeral in the Bell. CHeer up fans! 3 more losses til CHokula gets fired

    ReplyDelete
  106. Moey, nope, just razzin' ya. Keeping soaking that toe.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Lets Occupy the Bell Centre! Show them that we aren't happy that these players are getting paid millions to play like crap while we suffer!

    ReplyDelete
  108. we are the 99% Habs fans

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sabres are in the CHoke-hold mode.

    ReplyDelete
  110. This game is FHFucking over

    ReplyDelete
  111. Hit the road Habs.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Excuse me while I go do something interesting like bang my head on the wall.

    ReplyDelete
  113. the Maritimer10:10 PM

    @Moey, you know I was just kidding about Price earlier. He's the only reason they are competitive at all. He can't do it all.

    I hate to say it, but I called it on Miller.

    Blechh!

    ReplyDelete
  114. only 68 comments to a nice 2006 Saint Emillion!

    ReplyDelete
  115. the Maritimer10:14 PM

    PunCHless Penguins beat up the Wild.

    Should be interesting Thursday.

    'Night folks.

    ReplyDelete
  116. What the heck is wrong with the pp? 5 and no goals, Habs just boosted Sabres' stats on the pk.

    ReplyDelete
  117. The M,

    Of course I do. But I'm not kidding about Bylsma. I stick up for Martin because he's never had the luxury of one Andre Markov. I'm gonna withold judgement 'til he can ice a mostly full healthy roster. Then we'll see. But Danny boy would be my first pick for a coach.

    ReplyDelete
  118. @29, I have UPS'd you that bottle of Ripple.

    Also, new thread to CHleanse the palate.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Are you SURE we can't have ice cream? I mean, haven't we already been through enough? It would be cruel to deny us.

    Being a Habs fan is hard :(

    ReplyDelete
  120. Forget ice cream. In honour of Diaz's goal, go eat a Toblerone. Or Toblerone ice cream.

    ReplyDelete
