A children's treasury of Dale Hunter goon-ness

Ladies and gentlemen, your new Capitals head coach!

Listen, the fact that he is the only player in NHL history with 1000+ points and 3000+ PIM is sort of impressive in its own way. And apparently he's been quite a successful coach in the OHL. But we around here remember him as the guy who started this with a shot to the back of Carbo's head while Carbo was on his knees:

Big Bird ain't gonna take no shit from him though:

Here's a classic cheap shot. Unfortunately it may give you all bad memories of a certain Gorilla play from last year:

Finally, we can't forget this classic. Dale Hunter will not allow you to accept his giveaway and score without a little payback:

  2. Great memories 29, Big Bird and Gordon Lightfoot, same person, Dale Hunter and Ken Linsmen, two most disgusting vermin ever to play in NHL.

Captain Kirk is the shiney new coach of the large rotating storm.
    Go Kirk!
Xcept when you play the Habs, then it's fuck you.

  4. Surprised he doesn't coach the broons.

  5. So is Mr. Molson on holiday then? I thought this quote from Capt. Kirk sums up the problems the Habs are facing...

I just feel it comes down to one word at this level, and it's accountability. If you can get a bunch of guys that are willing to play for each other and understand that there's no free passes and you've got to earn your ice and be accountable, then I'm going to be totally fair to everybody. If you work and you play hard, then you'll play.

Man oh man I wish he was playing for the Habs!

  16. Happy for Kirk, wish it were here, but we're trapped in the eternal "French or Nothing" crap.

I still maintain Gainey built this team for Boucher before he fucked off to Florida...

  17. Fuck you, Shanaban. Just as inconsistent as the previous regime with just as much bullshit.

Officially OFF the Shanahan band wangon. Here I thought he'd be "different". Nope. Not at all.

I even tried imagining a scenario where, for example, PatCHes would've been hit like that, would I be crying for a suspension? I found myself answering "probably".

But then I started thinking again (I know, that's too much thinking for me today!) and if I were the guy dishing out the suspensions, I would've waved it off for one reason : The "Chris Campoli hit" (by Malone) in the pre-season. Shanahan claimed that Campoli switched his position at the last minute. That to me was BS.

I really wish someone breaks Shanahan's knees right now. Then run his head in a stanchion and break his neck.

Complete PHuckin' bullshit, agree with Hadulf...watch the super slow-mo you can see his head position does move, whereas last season PatCHes couldn't move his head 'cause it was crammed into a stanchion at 20 kms!!!!!!!!!!!

The NHL is really losing all credibility, orangeman I think said it, it's the WWE.

Man I just watched the Malone hit on Campoli and the Shanahan ruling, really does make you believe there is an anti-Habs conspiracy, unbelievable, it is the same head movement as Letang and Shanahan even states that the head was the principal point of contact....depressing shit.

Astounding inconsistency, Malone, shaved ape, Lucic skate away and PK gets an unsportsmanlike conduct for spraying a goalie, Patches gets 3 games for a hit less severe than the three mentioned here that were reviewed with no assessment.

Sorry I'm rating and probably incoherent but I'm just so angry and sad about what the league has become.

I hope TFS swings his goalie stick into some Broon piece of shit's face, someone who really deserves it, go ahead pick your own.

  22. Shitahan is no different than Campell and the previous corrupt, biased administration (pro broons) of the NHL. Ultimately, the chain of command remains and shall be as it was. Shitahan, was simply nominated to seemingly appease (true) fan's perception of such bias. However, as we all know, perception is reality.

  23. Shitahan gave us all (not me) hopes in doling out suspensions left and right in the pre-season that he meant business, at which time, once I expressed doubt, I was reminded that he once wanted to play for our team back in the day. In the beginning, he seemed to be ruling with an iron fist and taking no bull. Well, either that was just a show, and/or corporate came down hard and put a stop to it. I believe after the 3 game suspension that he handed down to Patches, that he really is just a (broons) puppet!

FUCK YOU NHL, THAT NO SUSPENSION WAS GIVEN TO CHARA FOR WHAT HE DID TO PATCHES, AND NOW PATCHES GETS 3 FUCKING GAMES, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU AFRAID OF, YOU FUCKING SHIT NHL CORPORATE ASSHOLES??? THAT THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN KEEP US OUT IS BY HAVING THE FUCKING REFS IGNORE WHISTLES WHICH SHOULD BE BLOWN ACCORDING TO RULE
Yes, I am fucking ranting, what do you expect?

  26. Habs have called up Louis Leblanc's massive eyebrows to take Pacioretty's spot.

  27. He deserved a game, not 3.

The crazy part is that Patches now has a record while the Bruins have "no prior history". Absolutely sickening. No consistency whatsoever.

    P.S. Louis! Louis! Louis!

  28. iRiRi,
In the name of consistency, you are absolutely right. Hence, the fucking, broon goons will rule.

And I must say, BROONS SUCK LEAFS DICK.I am so outraged by it all.

  31. I watched the Shanaban video on NHL.com and whilst I can understand where they went with it all a couple of things don't sit right with me. Firstly they (because you know this is not Shanaban doing this on his own)talk about Patches s"significantly changing his body position" just beforfe the hit to target the head. He "shifts his weight to his RIGHT leg" - that says to me that Patches was doing what he could to AVOID the hit altogether, couldn't get out of the way and ended up hitting him in the head. We've all done this - you are skating one way and need a real quick avoidance...what do you do? You massively shift the weight to your other leg to cut away. He was travelling at speed as was Letang - the hit happened - WTF!

Secondly, he sums things up by saying Patches "recklessly targeted the head" - and this is wrong. This is Shanaban's opinion. IMO - Patches should have been in TOI meeting with Shanaban in order to defend himself properly. In a telephone interview you say your bit, they say thanks and then they go off and decide what to do. In a face to face hearing they would have raised objections like: Shanahan - "Okay - here - why did you shift your weight to hit him in the head?" Patches: - "Brendan - Fuck off - I was trying to get out of the way - any fuckin' idiot can see that. I hit him a lot less than I could have - trouble is his head got in the way. Wasn't reckless - it was hockey. Can we move on please - I have a flight to catch to LA...

But that is not what happened because some bright spark decided that Patches needed a vigourous workout in Brossard before boarding a plane to LA...Nothing like sticking up for your own guys!
