Can the Habs wipe the shit stained broons? ~ Preview 12/19

Certainement Carey. Prévues d' rds, tsn, nhl, maudits sans dessein. Hé Pauline, si t'est-ici, va chier.

  2. Habs can probably wipe the stain but those B's are unflushables. No matter how many times you flush, that little annyoying turd just won't go away.

  3. I wrote this in the last comments, but for you on the other side (of the earth).

Kim Jong Il died. I have no idea what that means yet, but luckily I was planning on spending the holidays locked in my room with a bottle of whiskey and a shotgun by my side anyway (why mess with tradition?). Some have said the little dictator was keeping the military in check. Some say the wave of revolutions will finally come to the far east. I say glurg glurg glurg...this whiskey is delicioius....what was that noise....*CLICK CLICK*

Let my last words be: FUCK YOU bROONS AND YOUR TAINTED CUP!

    A Gatineau, Quebec nationalist group;

...is not impressed a unilingual english guy is now coaching the Montreal Canadiens.

It calls the move a "bodycheck to Quebec," a "gross misconduct.''

President Jean-Paul Perreault is calling for a boycott of Molson products.

    GO CUNNEYWORTH!

    ReplyDelete
  8. STFU! already;

The coach of the Canadiens is the most scrutinized personality in Quebec, even more than the prime minister, Celine Dion and even [Quebec City mayor] Regis Labeaume,” wrote Denis Poissant of the Journal de Montreal. “And Cunneyworth can’t answer questions in French. It doesn’t make any sense.”

The decision to name Cunneyworth head coach has also come under fire from former NHLer Robert Sirois, best known as the author of Discrimination in the NHL: Quebec Hockey Players Sidelined.

“The Canadiens should be a source of national pride for all Quebeckers,” Sirois said. “Not an agent of anglicisation.”

Jesus Christ. Of all the things to get worked up about, this is the thing that inspires them to "rise up"? Like there's not a lot of other stuff in the world to get worked up over? Is that 5 minute press conference after a game that bloody important where the coach either bullshits his way through it or tells us what we already know?

After their big closed door meeting last night I hope they turn it around. If not, this will be a long road trip. I can take a loss against Chicago, but Boston needs to DIE.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I've said it before, if you're main concern is having a press conference in French then please go support your local QMJHL teams. If your main concern is winning the Cup, then please STFU. Name me three guys on the Habs (ok, ONE) who can't speak English. So this is all for the media's benefit. Hire a PR guy. Done.

These people are the same as the yokels who wave the confederate flag in the. You lost, not just the war, but the referendum and public opinion. GET OVER IT.

    excerpt:

"PQ Leader Pauline Marois went one step further, saying at the time that the Canadiens should insist on French courses for its players."

She must be ecstatic, we all know how her popularity and support has taken a nose-dive. This gives her something new to attack in the hopes she can win some brownie points amongst the pure-laine.
Sure, instead of hockey practice, players should unlace their skates, take off their gear and all hit the books in french class. Next move might be non-franophone players would have to change the names displaying on their jerseys to conform to l'office's language sign laws same way as they impose businesses in quebec to do.

    Conne.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Geem, I hope they don't see that, just make pass a new law.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hadulf10:00 AM

Ok, I may have read things wrong but...

You can't spill hate on these people for "defending" their language. I know, there are bigger things to fight than "the Canadiens coach being English"...

But, I believe, among french, there is a sense of "minority" and it is important to hear about it. I include myself in this boat.

Personally, I could not care less if the Habs' coach is English, it's the name of the game. Everyone speaks English.

If I could give advice to my fellow Frenchmen on how to defend their language : Please (re)learn how to write it properly. Now this is a skill that's being lost in time...

I don't want to spark the french/english debate here, just wanted to voice an opinion. I let the media talk it over and over and over and...

Halte là, halte là, halte là...Les Canadiens, les canadiens. Halte là, halte là, halte là...Les Canadiens sont là!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hadulf10:03 AM

After reading juce's comment about Pauline Marois...Ouch, did she jump on this or what! You can spill hate on her for not focusing on politics...

    ReplyDelete
  16. DarthAlexander10:04 AM

Pauline's comment is so typical of Quebec. Why not make them do a French test like the nurses and doctors have to do? That way we can draft from a Quebec Beer League team since that's the only way we'll be able to get any players!

I don't mean to insult the French by saying this, but it's stuff like this that makes people laugh at Quebec.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hate to jump into this coach language debate, but I am going to do it ON CBC TELEVISION. They are coming to interview me and my oven mitts about it at 1 PM. I'll let you know how it goes

    ReplyDelete
  18. @Hadulf, Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to spill hate on anyone. Though I am growing tired of the same old dredging up of the language issues, we should all just live together.

Hockey is a sport. I was very surprised and saddened to see how a simple thing as getting a new coach got turned into what it has and I fail to see how it is a threat to anyone and how it seems to be so focused upon by media and politicians.

It is hockey, that's all it should be about in my view.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @29 good luck. I would use the old abortion line, our goal is less abortions.

Mousiur 29 do you think the coach should be French?

Madamoselle CBC I think we can all agree we want less abortions. Next question.

    ReplyDelete
  20. @29, Let us know if the camera really does add 5lbs.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mr. natural10:54 AM

@Hadulf, agree and I also am in that boat.

But as stated it's an english game, there are certainly more important things to rail against.

Exp; Bombardier, source of pride in Quebec, makes airplanes for an internationally recognized english marketplace, they have applied to the OLF for an exemption for 1400 employees to work locally in english.....go freak out on that instead!

As a fan, and I am sure most of us are, don't give a rat's ass if our coach speaks english, french, chinese, russian ect ect. We just want him to win fucking games and the Stanley Cup.
The language debate is one for the mediots and politicians (especially of the pequist variety).

Our family ancestors came here in the late 1600's, and we are very proud of our french culture and history, and our country, Canada. We also happen to think that Pauline Marois est une grosse crisse de folle, and are quite happy that she runs that separatist party, as she's running them into forgettable history.

@29, excellent work my friend! And tell me, where the fuck did you find a post with NO ass pic, on this blog?

Oh, one more thing concerning French/English thing...To all who say the Habs' coach MUST speak French...

Do you want the coach to explain to you, in French, that they got booted from the playoffs in the first round in 4 games or do you want your English coach to explain to you how they won the 25th Stanley Cup? Just saying : Hire the best damn coach available. That's it. Game over.

  47. the Maritimer4:43 PM

We'll, if a Maritimer with some Acadien ancestry in his mostly anglo blood can weigh in: I don't particularly care one way or another if the coach of the Habs can speak French or not. If the french media don't want to ask questions or receive answers in english have the team hire a translator to sit beside Randy or maybe Mssr. Gauthier could volunteer.

I think the separatists jumped all over this for the simple reason it gets them some attention. Ever since Jacques Parizeau showed his true colours I've not given them much credibility anymore.

Let's get back to hockey. I'm hoping Randy can turn things around but I don't hold out much hope this team is remotely close to being a contender. Way too soft to play a seven game series with the shit stained ones or the phucktards.

Good news though, Lucy is now considered an offender. Any more of his dirty hits from behind and not even Jacobs can save his sorry ass.

  48. I don't think that there's a day that goes by that McSplooge doesn't mention Scotty on the radio. He just mentioned him three times. He's absolutely and irrevocably in love with him. Is it bad that he thinks our new coach is the dog's bollocks?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Moey, mcsplooge continuously mentions Scotty and Mario to make himself feel better/bigger. He's also the only on-air noise maker that gives his travel itinerary. Like people care.

Just got back from CTV. Randy Tieman is even fatter in person but a nice guy. After that was over, someone from the CTV NATIONAL NEWS grabbed me for an interview. So look for that tonight at 11 or whenever.

    @Hadulf:

I meant no disrespect towards the French.I don't hate the French at all. What I don't like is the damn government. Especially the PQ.

I can understand wanting to protect the language but their tactics and some of the stuff they have pulled is bad for Quebec and Quebec's image. People DO laugh at Quebec because of stuff like this.

I just wish we'd all get along. I hate having this issue. It just seems like such a waste of all our time. There are so many more important issues than a replacement coach who will probably be gone by the end of the season, if not sooner, being able to speak French.

I also have ancestry here going back to the 1600s. So I should be considered one of the "pure laines" right? I never will be since I'm English.
