Happy New Year to all you FHFer's and your families. The Canada-USA tilt could be dangerous with the Americans having nothing to play for and nothing to lose.
Habs really need to come home with a W under their belt. Too bad they're facing Theodore le gardien Quebecois.

    Shit, gotta start drinking again.....

The WJC hockey is soooooooooo much more entertaining than the NHL it should be embarrassing for Buttman.

All I wish for the Habs is to play some non embarrassing hockey in 2012 and close out the season with their heads held high, not in 12 or 13th place.

Happy New Year to all, see you on the flip side.

    Can't PHuckin' believe that it's 2012!!!!!!!!!

Tonight's game will provide a glimpse of future NHL D-men Dougie Hamilton (Bruins--Toronto, Ont., Niagara OHL) and Jarred Tinordi (Habs--Millersville, Maryland, some girls college).

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tinordi plays for the London Knights, Anon.

Happy other new year's, guys. May 2012 bring us at least one fucking hat trick and either Grigorenko or Collberg. Team Sweden may play boring games but damn their good. Like a machine. (Sweden vs Russia is the dessert game).

Happy New Year all! Don't know if I'll get a chance to watch any hockey tonight, but I'll throw out a Go Habs! Go Nathan and Jonathan!

I hope the new year brings the Habs some success, be it on the ice or in the rebuild department. Salut!

  25. @Kmaxx, Wishing you all the best in 2012. Forgot to say sooner, seeing as you are on the other side of the pond.

  26. Lebrow will not play, not reason given.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Imagine how awkward the midnight toast will be if they lose... Er, I mean, man, I'm sure they're all really looking forward to an in-flight countdown to the New Year!

@juce - Fingers crossed but I'm not holding my breath...

    ReplyDelete
  28. Seriously, I can spell, take my word for it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yeah baby! moeMAN

    ReplyDelete
  30. Apparently, Lebrow partook of a little soccer prior to the game, may be why he's not playing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Like soccer in the hallways of the arena? That's not allowed anymore? Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Not sure of the details, but that was per RDS.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Not sure, but wasn't a player injured last season in the corridors? (not a Hab though).

    ReplyDelete
  34. It might not be safe (especially considering the injury situation) but I've seen Gorges and Pleks playing quite a few times...

Alright, I'm off to dinner. Have a good night, juce and happy new year again!

  35. Give him a major!

  41. The comment made by the local Fox Sports commentator on that hit penalty was horrible- He finished his check- Coaches like that kind of penalty. BULLSHIT ! From behind with an added dose of elbow to the head. The clips used to sell the Panthers are all bad hits too. Ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Bonne ti-cual & eclairieur!
    Amusez-vous bien!

    ReplyDelete
  43. The usual, Lego checked when he didn't have the possession of the puck, no penalty called for obstruction. Seems to have hurt his shoulder and gone to dressing room. But what do I know, I'm not a expert on rules.
    meh
GO YOU MOTHER FUCKING HABS GO!
    GO COACH!
USA no chance of a medal. Heard Tinordi (Hab) earlier, say they will beat Canada on their own soil.

    ReplyDelete
  44. 3-0 Canada in the 2nd.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Jets 3-2 3rd (leaf)
    Dallas 3-1 2nd (broons)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Some of the softest calls for tripping I have seen (Squid) and what the hell was the call on Moen? He did a normal scrum to defend a hit player, got palmed by three Panthers and gets called? Tin Foil aside, this is really getting old.

    ReplyDelete
  47. GYFHG, Go Canada, Go Jets, Go Stars. Happy New Year all.

    ReplyDelete
  48. HeadHunter, Usual biased refs. Whenever I talk with friends, they think they seem to roll their eyes and think I am singing a broken record. They just don't watch the games.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Happy New Year HeadHunter!

    ReplyDelete
  51. too.....late....3-2

    ReplyDelete
  52. @juce, thanks for keeping the fire alive on the site tonight. The game hardly deserved your passion. Soft calls (even Cold said a few calls were missed...if he sees them, there should be no doubt), missed chances, Kaberle proving to be PP Albetross 2.0, and a thousand other reasons mean it is a good time to leave Habs hockey 2011 behind and hope for better things in the new year. Please.....GYFHG

  53. Dallas 4-1 end 2nd.
    (Jets final)

    ReplyDelete
  54. HeadHunter, You hiring?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Given the amount of $$ I have thrown to Molson and crew, I am not sure I can hire more than a Slim Jim and a sixer of Natty. Given the MTL play, I need to hire a liter of J. Daniels. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ironic that my verification for that comment was "excess"

    ReplyDelete
  57. Peace out juce and FHF community. I think I am going to go watch some MTL games from the 70's to remind me of what winning was like. I hope/expect/pray for it to be consistent with what happens in 2012. Oh, please let TFS not be hurt. I never given Cold much creedence, but TFS had some saves there that hurt me. Oh, and a large portion of the NHL officating crew need to be diagnosed with a crippling disease. Hardly New Year's cheer but I figure the CH and the CH fans deserve some satisfaction.

    ReplyDelete
  58. HeadHunter,
I don't ask much, just the market value, maybe, Gomerhea's salary. No? How 'bout the least paid Hab? Willing to start at the bottom and rise up. Unless, of course, I end up on sick leave.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Let me know where I can send my CV.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I love you all!
    Happy New Year!

    ReplyDelete
  61. @HeadHunter,
I've noticed myself, a few ironic verifications.

    ReplyDelete
  62. 2011 can finally fuck off and die. And hopefully take a few of those Sun Belt covering refs with it.

2012 we might all die. Or find ourselves in a Mad Max-y type world. Either way, stock up on your hockey pads and spiked helmets. And dog food.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Moey will definitely stock up on cat food.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Happy New Year! Habs are what they are. Nothing we can do about it, no use in stressing out over it.

    juce,

The one thing I NEVER run out of is cat food. They simply won't accept it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Happy New Year...What'd I miss?...aw fuck - same old same old...Bring on 2012. Out with the old...@juce thanks for mention. Unfortunately I seem to have contracted iRiRi's fuckin' flu so wasn't up for much of anything last night.

    Go Habs Go!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. the Maritimer8:58 AM

Well kiddies, that's all she wrote. Eight points out, 50 teams between them and the last spot and they all have games in hand...and play each other multiple times. What to do? For now, nothing. WHEN the contenders come sniffing around the carcass don't take anything back other than picks or high end prospects. Did I mention that all calls should be incoming only? So, the only question is who conducts the fire sale, Goat? An assistant? As the Chinese say: may you live in interesting times.

  67. Krys Barch was ejected from last night's game because of racial slur to PFK.
