  1. I dunno...maybe refuse to post photos until Habs win a game?

    I for one will refuse to think they'll win so maybe they'll start winning.

    Oh look, WJC replay! Happy vacation time!

    Here's my take. Third game in 4 nights, they usually crash and burn in the 3rd game. It's happened lots of time if I remember correctly. They have to get together, refocus and grt that us vs. everybody else mentallity going.

    Next game is in Ottawa where they usually play well and it's a team they are sort of equal to. Florida might be too good for them but Tampon Bay sucks, hopefully that's where they snap out of it.

    Realisticly, they won't make the playoffs and that's OK. Hopefully Molson cleans house and they bring in a GM who will do what's necessary to restore some dignity to this great franchise.

    In the meantime let's have a little fun leading up to Christmas and play fantasy trade. Here's mine: Price and PK for Giroux and Bryzgalov. Would you do it?

    OK it's been a while now that making the playoffs wasn't likely, now it's basically in miracle territory, though mathematically possible we need to enter the realm of the law of probability, as in I'm gonna win the 6/49 lotto.

    I loved this team with my every fiber in my being but it is not unconditional, The M and others are correct on several point made this past week +, the Habs true ability as a team was masked by some outstanding performance bursts but without rehashing, size , Vodkov, D, Muller, Halak etc etc, it was/is obviously unsustainable.

    In hindsight I would say the demised started with Gomer and was accelerated by Muller's departure, add a couple of injuries popping up here and there and voila the Emperor has no clothes. The saddest part is now the team knows it as well. They no longer believe in themselves.

    PK & TFS for Giroux & Bryzgalov? No PHuckin'way! 1. Bryzgalov is not the answer, he is arguably no better than TFS and he is 8 years older. 2. Giroux, though he would look good in a Habs sweater and he has many great years ahead of him, until we have more size and toughness on this team another 170 lb forward is not what I would be shopping for, sure he would score and be exciting (gosh remember excitement, that was fun)but over the course of a season he would be neutralized by the opposition, not a midget in height but still 170 lbs.

    Moeman, thanks for Sexy Friday, helps to mask the sick sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

  4. Great post moeman, red is my favorite color and that pic of Craig, Daniel Craig! Wasn't that from Casino Royale?

  5. I was wrapping presents for the kids last night so listened to the first period on 990. Finished wrapping and didn't bother with the rest of the game - I wasn't encouraged by what I had heard at that point and had no reason to believe they would turn it around. Shame I was right. Here's my take on the state of Habs Nation.

    I sorta understood sitting PFK - he made couple of really bad plays that led to decisive goals against of late and he needs to learn that to be the best he can't do shit like blind backpasses in his own end. So I got that - that is what a proper coach does with a player who fucks up. So where I get lost slightly is with Squid. Why isn't he sitting? He gets some shots at or near the goal but nothing is going in for him and to be honest, the majority of his ice time is wasted. He won't carry the puck, doesn't dig it out much and has developed a knack for missing the net from 3 feet away. He's still on the 1st fuckin! line for God sake. Someone explain that to me please.

    A huge break with tradition is required here. How many times have our collective hearts sunk in recent years as we wake up after the trade deadline has passed to read a headline like: "The team we have is the Team we got" (to paraphrase a past 4HF headline). Standing pat is not an option. The Goat is no longer an option. RC is not an option. Gomez is no longer an option. I'm sorry but Squid is no longer an option. Kaberlee should never have been an option. Some of the talent waiting in the wings is our future but not our today. The core of this team should be (IMHO) TFS,PFK,Gorges,Patches, DDD, LLB, Cole, Eller, Pleks, (y)emelin

    Get what you can for the rest and move on. I hate to think that the playoffs are not going to happen this year. My brain says they don't deserve to be there but my Habs Heart says that if they make the show, anything can happen...then they play a game like last night and reality kicks in again!!

    Lastly, as it is the season of thanks - Moeman - you are a shining star for all you do with this blog. Thank you from the bottom of my Habs Heart. I can no longer keep track of who is Jewish, who isn't, who celebrates what and who I might offend so I will say this (hopefully) politically correct sweeping statement...If you celebrate Christmas, Merry Christmas to you and yours! Otherwise, Happy Holiday season to you and enjoy a couple of days off.

    God Bless us everyone!

    @Kmaxx, thanks for the season's greetings.

    I pretty much agree with your core but I would not cry if Eller wasn't part of the core.

    Also, regardless of his stats, I wish we hadn't traded Maxime, he brought an intangible spark to the team and is a post season performer.

    If it wasn't for you goofy bastards (and bastardettes)I would throw myself off a cliff this season.

    Merry CHristmas to all, may Santa bring us a CHristmas CH surprise!

  7. Thanks 4HFers.

    Also, in last night's comments I mentioned that the Quebec mediots complained about RÇ refusing to answer a question in French. My mistake, the bleu fuckers were ticked at Winnipeg coach Noel for refusing. Who knew the language police travelled west. Sick fucks.

  9. Man, I gotta get my stories straight.

    ~~~
    "They also stated that they take offence that the assistant coach of the Winnipeg Jets – Pascal Vincent – has been told not to give interviews in French, allegedly to “avoid controversy.”
    In fact, Vincent has apparently been kept from holding any interviews on the subject, whether in English or in French.
    In an interview with La Presse on Thursday, however, Vincent, referring to the Cunneyworth controversy, said he considers it a shame that “we put a noose around the neck of an individual before he’s even started.”
  20. the Maritimer1:04 PM
    @Steve, I was just having a little fun with that proposal. Do the Habs want scoring or do they want goaltending? Essentially the Phucktards would be asking themselves the same question.
    Some good comments today from Mr. Natural and Kmaxx.
    I'm at a loss, really, as to figure out what is going on. I guess it's just part of a very long season. These bad spells they go through seem to happen every year at some point or other. It's up to the coach and players to figure it out, so let them play and ride it out. They may have buried themselves but we'll see.
  21. Maritimer, don't drink and trade. Bryz sucks. And Giroux is another one of your favourite high-scoring midgets (which is what would have been said if he had been drafted by the Habs, "another fucking Smurf" who would have been run out of town already.) As for Lapierre...he ASKED to be traded. He can look in the mirror why.
    Why are they bugging Noel? I don't think he can speak French any better than Cunney can. This is getting disgustingly ridiculous already! What is wrong with these people?
    I want Mr. Molson to get up and tell these people, "STAY THE FUCK OUT OF HOCKEY"
  24. Winnipeg head coach Claude Noel, like Cunneyworth a veteran of the AHL, has faced a little criticism himself for not speaking more French.
    The Franco-Ontarian answers the odd question from local French media in Winnipeg but mocks his linguistic abilities and says he just doesn't feel comfortable enough when dealing with reporters from Montreal.
    "You're spitting out English words, half-French and just fumbling around," he said.
    Noel was educated in French through Grade 6 but then switched to an English track and has spent much of his career in the United States, so he says his French has suffered.
    OK, everybody thinks I was drunk when I made that comment this morning. HELLO, I WAS TRYING TO LIGHTEN THE MOOD!!!
    Seriously, if I'm the Habs GM, I'm going after two players. Malkin and Shea Weber. Along with TFS you've laid the foundation to turn the franchise around. But, not going to happen so let's keep cheering on all the second rate cap space eaters they currently have. Tell you what though, I've just about had enough of this fucking train wreck. I've followed this team for 50 years and I'm ready to bail. I'll never switch loyalties to someone else but I don't have to watch this anymore. I've got a ton of DVDs to occupy my time with and there's a good junior team in my city to follow. So, Mr. Molson if this stumbling, bumbling hockey team you own continues to disgrace the sweater they are wearing I won't be witness to it.
    WJC, hockey that's exciting to watch, get this players carry the puck in to the offensive zone.
    Fast paced, skating, passing the way the NHL used to be a long long time ago.
    @The M, Beaulieu looks great!
    HOLY PHUCK 3-1 Sweden, I think a goalie change might be in order, 3 goals on 4 shots in 1:30
    Sweden just scored 1-1, the replay shown from the overhead cam ,kinda "eye in the sky" is awesome.
    2-1 Sweden now, twice we don't clear the zone and both times they capitalizes, reminds me of Habs games.
