    ReplyDelete
  30. Not the deal I would have made, for one thing Calgary sucks, should have held out for a contender, Goat your fired.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Bourque, some Tri-City European centre and a 2nd for Squid, Rammo and a 5th.

    ReplyDelete
  37. So...Calgary was kind. I'm actually more confused with Calgary.

Canadiens acquire forwards Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland (Tri-City!) and a 2nd pick in 2013 for Michael Cammalleri, Karri Ramo and a 5th pick in 2012

Habs get younger, bigger, cheaper, and an elusive A SECOND ROUND PICK

    ReplyDelete
  42. matt - watching the collapse10:14 PM

its not even who they got that makes this a bad trade. Its just another situation embarassingly handled...cammy has been shit this year...no doubt...but once again the handljng of the situation makes the Habs look much worse in the end. I will be shocked if another star signs in Montreal ever again. The Image of this franchise has never been worse, even more so then when they traded roy when you combjne all of the crap from this season.

    ReplyDelete
  43. What player will ever sign in Montreal during the off-season knowing that if they say one wrong thing to the media and they'd get traded during the next game?

What a circus. Gauthier doesn't handle pressure very well.

I'm OK with the deal, they get a mean SOB who can score the odd goal. Plus a prospect and a pick.

So who's next? This is just for Moey: Plexxxe for Saku straight up.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok...so how do you see the comments passed 200?

I'm ok with the trade. And, according to the Goat, this trade was in discussion way before cammy's comments.

    Merci Cammy, good luck!

  47. How is Calgary not on the list of the 7 teams you wont go to. Squid you dont know shit about geography

    ReplyDelete
  48. Gauthier: Trade's been in the works for a month. And it's totally a coincidence that Cammy shot himself in the foot yesterday. (Feaster confimed it)

Like I said, he really wasn't doing himself any favours.

As for people bitching about him not being shopped: DO WE REALLY KNOW THIS? Considering his salary, Habs win in this deal and DON'T lose a good prospect to "sweeten" the deal that would appease some other GM who would gleefully love to screw the team. Also, if possible, trade out of conference is better. Not to mention his veto clause. Columbus' GM could for instance say all he wants how much he would have loved to trade for Cammy, but odds are Cammy has Columbus nixed.

Pretty sure he knew he was being traded with how he was acting...

@matt-wtc, good points, but I believe if you throw enough money at these guys they'll go anywhere. Personally, I hope they never sign another high priced UFA again. I want a top 3 pick that will become a star.

BTW, good call on the score moeman, and I said the Habs would give them all they could handle and they did, short staffed no less.

Louis Jean on Sportsnet says this is just the beginning. More unhappy people will be leaving town soon. We can only pray that Nomez is on top of the list.

    That is all, about Squid.

Can't wait to see that big boy in a Habs uniform. I have no expectations as I have given up on playoffs hopes for the Habs...but you never know! (how to contradict yourself in one sentence, eh!)...

My mom is a life long Habs fan and (for her sins) a Liberal voter so last year, at election time, she didn't know anything about the local candidate so I sent a note to Ken's office - he called her personally and arranged a car to collect her so that she could vote - sorry to say it didn't help the candidate or Ken, but he went above and beyond for my Mom and that just re-inforced what I always thought of him.
