  4. Me like the kitty shot. So cute. There's a certain amount of comfort being in last place, it's much more stressful if you're barely clinging to eighth. They czn't get any lower, they can only go up.

When they get to Florida can they just leave Gomez behind? Just leave him on the beach or at Disney. I never want to see him wear the same sweater as the Richard brothers. He skated into the corner against a Dallas defenceman the other night and did a 360 to avoid being hit. And HE was doing the forechecking! What a useless fucking POS he is. Get him out of town Goat! Please!!

Oh yeah, liked that picture of the Richards moe. The one underneath is't bad either.

I'm down and out with a reall bad head cold, I'm afraid sexy Friday's not doing it for me today. :(

  7. Moeman you have outdone yourself on SF - AGAIN! A fantastic combination of old, new, front and rear. Great job all ';round!

Now then - it's Friday night, the Habs are playing the Caps, who are ripe for a beating (actually the Habs are playing better than the Caps in the last 10 games: 5-4-1 v. 3-6-1) and the Habs have absolutely nothing to lose by playing some balls out hockey for a change. They, are, after all, DEAD LAST in the East so their is not anything worse that could happen. (except maybe last over all - which is really a big ask given that the BJ's only have 43 points).

So after tonight's game there will be 20 games left for the Habs in the regular season, which means that if they were to go on a 16-2-2 streak they would end the season with 92 points, which everyone figures gets them 8th place.

    IT AIN'T OVER YET BOYS!!

If TFS could become both a smart and great save goalie, we can print cups. As it goes he is an elite goalie that any team would build around with total confidence.

@juce, I think I can speak for quite a few people on here (iRiRi included) when I say it breaks my heart to see what the Montreal Canadiens, a team I have cheered for fifty years, have been allowed to become. One of the worst teams in a 30 team league. I don't pretend to know what has happened or why or what the Owner will do. I can't bring myself to watch anymore. All I can hope for is that this is a one-off season and that they can be restored to at least a semblance of a competitive team next season. I'm only a fan but what I see missing is a big #1 center for Cole and Patches, a stud scoring defenceman and a tough SOB defenceman. Take the high pick, put the up and comers in the AHL for a full season or longer if necessary.

Keep cheering and don't be upset with the disheartened which I freely admit to being. It's no fun watching a grown man cry.

    1. Nicely put, Maritimer. Usually when we mock the Habs on here it's like shit talking your family. My sisters and I can make fun of my mom, but if anyone else tries to do it I will cut them. But this season is just embarrassing. Something is wrong from top to bottom. And with such young guys, I'm afraid that rotten management will either hurt their progress or drive them out of town. It's ok to have an off season, or to re-build. It's not ok to collapse and ignore the rotting garbage that your foundation was built upon.

      Delete
    2. @the Maritimer, @Oraneman,
Thank you both and I do agree on many points, especially Orangeman's reference to family. I think that's how I take some of the comments, therefore, it is hard to accept the Habs bashing.
Maritimer, if comments would be such as yours, I would feel better - maybe it's just all in the delivery. I just feel at times, if the Habs were doing great, all would be praising, I liken it to you don't agree with a war but you still support your troops.
I can understand that some are bashing out of frustration, and believe me, I also feel frustrated at their performance (or lack of).
As I have previously stated, I am a pessimist, I don't know where this loyalty for my team derives, but it does hurt when some chime in just to say it kills to watch. If that's how one feels, then don't.

      Delete
  75. @Maritimer - Well, I haven't been watching for nearly as many years (!) but I agree, this is heartbreaking to watch.

@Orangeman - Couldn't have said it better myself. They need an Extreme Makeover: Hockey Franchise Edition.

Exhibit A (I know, I know, It's from Puck Daddy...)

I think it's absurd that voicing my opinion about this team (albeit a negative one) equals me not being a fan. I think the fact that it "hurts" to watch means I care, doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn't watch the third period. It's time to take this lemon and start turning it into lemonade. I can suffer not making the playoffs if it means long term improvement. I want a team that finishes in the top six in the league year after year. Barely making the last playoff spot is just not acceptable any longer. The tandem of BG/PG has been merely spinning it's wheels, throwing together a patchwork quilt, rolling crap shoots and hoping that it works. This isn't just any hockey team, it's Montreal. Time to clean house from the top down, I hope Molson has the guts to do it.

      Delete
  76. Right off the bat I have to say this: Pierre Gauthier, you're an asshole.

I think PK needs to shake things up a little. That one-timer rarely works anymore. He needs to try something new. Actually, at this stage they should all try something new. Start with trying to flip the puck in the air. Maybe it'll go in the net one of these days. Can't hurt.

I hate seeing this as well. The high draft pick is the only thing making this moderately bearable. It's going to be a long summer waiting for next season to begin. Son of a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  77. @juce - I have to apologise for leaving you on your own last night - I managed until the end of the first but a week of 5.30am starts finally did me in. I am, like you, loyal to the death and will never stop believing they can pull this out of the bag. I said earlier they need a 16-2-2 run after this game...so now it begins!

@KmaXXX and Juce, while I admire your optimism, I have to point out that even if they could put together a 16-2-2 run, all the teams in front of them would have to go 2-16-2 for them to advance.
    1. None of the other teams (even the leaf) are bad enough to do that.
    2. Montreal doesn't have the talent to pull that kind of run off.
    3. They keep playing Gomez and Kraperle.
    4. I checked their remaining schedule and opponents.......Oy Vay!

Dark days are ahead my friends. We may be looking at an Oilers type of rebuild. Some have said that if Habs fans were told straight up that they were rebuilding from scratch they would accept it. We may be about to find out if that is true.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Rebuild Schmebuild. They win one week and everyone's pissed they're winning, they lose the next week and everyone's pissed they're losing. C'mon... I personally think rebuilding won't work like that. They have half the tools (with the pillars being Price-PK-Patches)...just gotta dump the Campolis and Kaberles and FIX the lines properly (you know, like playing Eller with Leblanc and Kostitsyn for more than 5 minutes and giving them powerplay time). Got plenty of nice players coming up in the system anyway. Tinordi, for one, is a beast.

I mean if Zidlicky is supposedly worth all that? Surely someone could use Kaberle..... Tho my favourite recent wtf-trade was the Red Wings trading their first round pick for a guy they waived a few years ago (and who's really just a typical plug). Not that they really use their first round pick, mind. So like maybe resign Moen in the summer but trade him there for Jurco and a pick? 'Cause that's how the value scale works now after all that...but I doubt they want to give up Jurco.

Also Habs need to call up Schultz for more than the warmup. He's a lot better than what people think. Huge improvements from last year, which is normal for a Junior player hitting pro. Also he can punch people too. Perfect for the 4th line, which needs to be re-created (if only Blunden weren't broken...).

    ReplyDelete
  81. Anyway, the Caps winning last night bumped the Leafs to 10th. So I guess it was for the greater good? (Go Jets!?)
