  1. From the other room I hear my daughter:
'Mom are you listening to Of Monsters and Men?'
Thanks, moeman, she now thinks I'm cool.

Not really, she thinks someone on the blog I go on has good taste in music.
    She's right. (this time)

I was laughing my head off reading the header. Funny stuff!
    Great pics.

  3. Excerpt from story on Marcel Bonin.

While he picked up a very respectable 272 points in 454 games, Bonin’s greatest career moments were owed to Maurice Richard, or more precisely, to “The Rocket’s” absence. Borrowing the injured Richard’s new gloves in 1959, he seemed to magically inherit his captain’s nose for the net. Bonin scored 10 times in 11 games and capped the season with the Stanley Cup.

Asked to comment on his incredible playoff run, Bonin jokingly declared, “If I’d known how it was going to turn out, I’d have borrowed Rocket’s jock as well.”

  6. Habs paparazzi dude claims PK has a torn MCL. Considering it's 2am in Switzerland, and there's nothing officially reported from John Lu who's over there and would be all over that and thensome, I don't see much truth in it. Though it wouldn't shock me if it's a minor tear that he'll need to fix one of these days (ie. still functional). Anyway, grain of salt, etc. he wouldn't be walking about talking with reporters after the game if that were true.

Must be such a relief for you not to have to use that fuckin' broon tag any more!!

Ovi scores and puts his hand to his ear to the New York crowd. People claim he's answering the critics and the countdown-to-Ovi-sucks chant.

  21. Hey just got back from two days in Gitmo north. I was moving my daughter at the end of school year. It really should be a reality game show. Negotiate a route from old residence to new, find a parking spot, get that couch up a spiral stairway. I went to Pete's Smokehouse. Food not as good as Swartz, atmosphere better.

Russians like to party, okay lets make a party team richards, carter, tits brothers, lots of russians and see who wins.

  34. Seriously about the TiTs and Rattou suspension. Hasta la vista baby. I played hockey drunk and stoned, alot. This hurt my career bad, but not as bad as having no talent. If you have the talent of these two assholes, and you are drinking your ass off the night before a playoff game, then you do not deserve to play in the NHL. I dont know if they have an addiction problem. I sure hope they do, and they clean themselves up and get back to work.

  37. Will I ever in good conscience wear my TiTS OFFICIAL tshirt again. I paid $46.98 for this cotton icon. Now what do I do with it. Had it been a Gill shirt I might have scrapped off the name, but TiTS, no way you can do that without affecting the integrative of the shirt. If I wear it will people think I am some kind of booze hound barfly, of this I am certian they will not, they already know I am. But what kind of message does it send. I am going to put hooker and blow before my career?

Now that TiTs with his irresponsible actions has broken my heart, my faith in people I have never met and know only through one way internet action, I dont know what to do, continue to run on this sentence, say something profound or go to bed knowing my last real connection to these playoffs has been severed, like a head falling in the Game of Thrones (see how I snuck that into a hockey blog) My hockey passion has left the building, and I respect myself for that.

    1. I'll sit here and talk with you about GoT Steve if you want. Did you see this week's? Don't want to spoil anything

      Delete
    2. @29. nope did not watch yet, its in the spool, will watch Wed. But as I have noted, this season has been a foundation building exercise for the most part. It confuses me how GOT gets its ratings, except for the gratuitous nudity and ultra violence, the story is complex and thought provoking and the story moves at a languid pace.

      Delete
    3. in summary was it a good episode?

      Delete
    4. @29 I did see Fridays Fringe, it was terrific and the writers showed guts by shutting down the central premise to date of the franchise. Now we know the last season is going to be a dissection of the Observers. However I thought there was a huge disconnect between last weeks episode and the latest one.

      Delete
    5. GoT - yes. won't say anything for fear of spoilers, but yes

Fringe - FUCKING AWESOME. That ep was amazing imho. The scene with the 2 Walters talking on the floor literally brought tears to my eyes. A SCI-FI SHOW made me cry. God I am happy we got another season.

Agreed on the disconnect, but I didn't mind it at all. The writers knew they were preparing for S5 (thank god they got it). Did you watch Dollhouse? The same thing happened with Epitaph One episode of that show, and it all paid off in the end. The same thing will happen with that Observers future ep

      Delete
    6. IMHO Fringe is the only network show that is equal to cable. It so fucking easy to make a doctor, lawyer, cop show, but an original show, this is a fifty goal scorer.

      Delete
    7. Yes I watched dollhouse, loved the concept, the execution was off. IMHO a hotter lead would have done the trick, not to say she was not extemely attractive.

      Delete
    8. Agreed Steve. And it is a crime that the actors don't get any Emmy recognition. John Noble deserves one for that scene with Walternate alone. And Anna Torv has played 5 different versions of her character brilliantly

      Delete
    9. It is the best of times and the worst of times. Finally every vision any Sci Fi author has created in print can be made in images. The problem, the audience has either become diluted, or the producers have found it just to easy to tap into the lowest common denominater. Call me a snob, but Jersey Shore, the Kardashians and too many reality TV shows to mention are heroin for culture. For a show like Fringe to languish on the Fringe, is a situation very similar to the original Star Trek. The differance is that the audience for Star Trek could rightly defend themselves by saying it was out of the blue, Fringe does not ask anyone to trod a path not well worn, all it asks is that you put some effort into following along. It will not leave you LOST with MacGuffin.

      Delete
