  6. IMHO these guys have the best draft blog.

    33) Montreal Canadiens – Mark Jankowski
    Previous Pick: Alex Galchenyuk
Montreal’s head scout Trevor Timmins has never been afraid to take kids who are playing high school hockey in their draft year. With Mark Jankowski’s uncle Ryan Jankowski working as a scout for the team, as well as recent hire Bobby Kinsella who drafted Jankowski in the USHL draft, there will be plenty of support for this pick amongst the Habs scouting department.

    51) Montreal Canadiens (from Nashville) – Scott Kosmachuk
Previous Picks: Alex Galchenyuk, Mark Jankowski
The Canadiens have added to their centre depth with their first two picks. With their third pick they take Scott Kosmachuk who despite being a Right Wing (a position where Montreal is relatively deep in prospects) is the best player available at this stage of the draft. Kosmachuk is a great skater, and an offensively talented agitator. The Canadiens hope that he will bring his ability to get under an opponents skin to the Bell Centre one day.

  7. Thanks for the kind words Steve.

There is pick 64 in that article as well. As a habs fan I decided to go to the third round pick as well.

I put the player who was best player available at 64, but he's also someone who is going to make our friends in the media happy.

No, much as I liked the skill, way too slow now. Habs are going younger....speed, speed and more speed.

Looks like it's going to be Gchuk or Foppa II at 3rd. Or Murray if the BJ's don't take him second. If they do get Murray, Habs are gonna have a wicked backend in two years. PFK, TinTin, N8 and Murray.

    4. I agree with Maritmer, looks like GCHuk and Nail go before our pick. Then the fucking dilimma, pick an eggman, a D man or a Dolphin Man.

  15. Looks like Jaromir Jagr's stay in Philadelphia won't go beyond one season.

Jagr has no intention of re-signing with the Flyers and will instead see what kind of offers he gets as an unrestricted free agent, according to TSN. That's somewhat surprising since the 40-year-old forward's agent told CSN Philadelphia he was working on a new deal with the Flyers and was hopeful of having something done before the NHL draft this weekend.

Jagr, who returned to the NHL in 2011-12 after three seasons in the KHL, had 19 goals and 35 assists in 73 games with the Flyers.

  17. Gotta love our legal system.
Magnotta can get free legal defense for horrific crimes yet many single mothers have to struggle to pay divorce lawyers' fees.

According to TSN mock draft, Montreal will take Galchenyuk. Foppa II goes to the leaf. Let it be so.

Ha! They just interviewed DGMB. He's holding his cards close to his vest, but maybe a phonecall to Edmonton is possible. I'd do #3 and a Swiss mister for the Yak.

    1. Methinks DGMB will be a mover and a shaker.

@moe, I think you're right. Can't stand pat with a 28th place team and #3, whoever it is, isn't going to turn things around in a season. Lots of drama to come yet.
