I'm guessing it's hot in upper Canada these days. It's been warm here in the Maritimes as well, but you just have to get near the Bay of Fundy and the temperature drops about 10 degrees. We call it natural air conditioning.

Stay cool 4HF'ers. Not too much booze - you'll get dehydrated.

    God bless the UN.

  4. Moeman - you are unequaled in the blogospere. Another awesome WW. Just wish you could send some of the hot, wet, sticky weather over to the UK.

Are there 'Bloggie' awards or something? And if so, how so we go about nominating moeman for his invention of Wet Wednesdays?

    1. I think he should be up for a "Stiffie" rather than a "Bloggie". It is the pinacle of success in SPM (Soft Porn Media).

    2. How about a Softie?

    3. In one memorable episode of "The Trailer Park Boys", Ricky was trying to star in J-Roc's porno when he couldn't get a stiffie. J-Roc called him "Soft-Serve"

  6. Do we have a theme for mondays? I vote for More Meat Mondays, moeman. Seriously, more meat, not just bones!

Sabres sign once upon a time Habs draft prospect Gmoe. Steve is heartbroken the Habs didn't get the taller Russian.

    1. Heartbroken, no, I love GChuk now. But would have loved both. And I would hope for a organization that would stop the conventional wisdom of saying Russians are enigma. bull shit. I do not believe any nationality does not want to win, and only cares for their contract.

  9. I am writing an epic and will post it on my website, it may be the last thing I ever write due to all the lawsuits and PC warriors that will take offense. But there are dead people in Toronto, and we cant have that, and I am going to put most of the blame on the 1%.

  10. Whats got my bee in a bonnet, I am still trying to watch Sunday airing of True Blood. Sure I read all about it.
But I do not trust 29 to tell me about my speculative fiction. He has not center when it comes to this. I do not think shiny in or shiny out is a bump on the grade point.

  11. Finally watched the whole episode, and it was an A.
I took a bad spill on my bike today. All absorbed by my right arm witch now is popeye. It never ceases to amaze me how resilient the human body is.

  13. OK - discussion point please...The phucken phyers sign an offer sheet with Shea Weber - 14 YEARS - $100 million - are they (and when I say "they" I mean the owners) fuckin' nuts? £100 million for a guy who has scored more than 20 goals - ONCE! Has had more than 50 points in a season ONCE. In his entire NHL career he is averaging UNDER 38 points a season. I reapeat...ARE THEY FUCKIN' NUTS??

    1. Hey a hockey discussion!

PHucktards will be PHucktards. The market, however, is what's PHucked up

      Delete
    2. So this means the Preds will start to slide, lose money and Mr. Molson all have to cough up even more revenue sharing dollars whilst the phucktards overpay for a top Dman. Fuck you fuckface bettman.

      Delete
    3. Phuctards are Phuctards, very profound. PFK must be thinking about a private jet.

      Delete
    4. This is insane and if the Predators match, they're more PHucked up than the PHucktards.
Even worse, a beer at the Bell Centre will now go from $10 to $15 a pop.
      Cheers!

    5. Reading more about this...the Preds could get 4 1st round picks out of this - I would let him go in a fuckin' heartbeat for that. OK - the picks are not likely to be early in round 1 (mind you we can always hope!) but having 2 1st round picks does give you way more options. Don't get me wrong, he's a good player but the numbers just don't add up for me. If he was popping in 30/30+ year in year out, then maybe, but for that kind of money with the low points totals, I'd be expecting a +- nearer to 50 than 20! And that was only last season(+21) - take that out of the equation and he is averaging less than +5 over his career - for a cap hit of $7m+ a year? - fuck off!

    1. good read, crazy stuff. It seems like the draft picks seldom work out as adqate compensation.

    3. Nice read Beaker! Excellent analysis. I still think that they will be overpaying for Weber.

  16. This is a big test for PFK, cause you can bet he is getting a boatload of offers.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I dont know about that

Montreal has both the cap space and money to match any other team

Plus PK isnt as good as Weber

This is still a special case

      Delete
    2. I believe the deadline to offer sheet PK has passed a few weeks ago already (he's only off his entry-level). I could be wrong but I remember hearing something about how it's different for guys like him.

The one reason why I'm really pissed off at this Shea Weber thing? Fuckface Holmgren and Snider are a bunch of fucking hypocrites. They bitch about the ridiculous contracts and ridiculous salary AND THEN TURN AROUND TO OFFER ONE. And THEN they'll all go crying to the CBA negotiating table about how they have no money and need more money from the players and yada yada yada. FUCK THEM. Because of this shit we're so going to have another fucking lockout. GO BULLDOGS GO!

Watch Weber get a puck in the face and never play again (Hi Pronger). He doesn't wear a visor either.

      Delete
    3. I dont follow other teams that closely, but is there another RFA out there with as much upside as PFK? Yes Montreal can match, but if I am Sather, or Bruins, whats a few draft picks for Subban? If you get Subban to sign a sheet, you really destroy the relationship in Montreal.

      Delete
    4. There is no deadline to offer sheet him

The deadline that passed means Montreal can now pull the offer sheet off the table if they choose, while still retaining his rights

He can be offersheeted anytime until he signs with us

      Delete
    5. Also there is no D RFAs as good as Subban once we eliminate Weber

All MT2 has to do this season is paint a golf-sized hole on the ice inside the opponent`s net.

  18. Gorgeous Gorges gets his due:

    BLOCKED SHOTS

    Josh Gorges, Montreal

"Not surprisingly, no player has repeated as the leader in this category since the NHL started listing real-time stats in 2005 -- after all, the blocked shots of today are the bruises of tomorrow, and standing up to slap shots time and again is no fun.

No one took one for the team more often last season than Gorges, who blocked 250 shots in 82 games -- more than three per game. No other player blocked more than 200, though Tampa Bay's Brett Clark was close with 199."
