  1. Man oh Man! I wish some of that summer heat would reach the UK. I'll trade you a couple of their gold medals for a month of hot hot hot! And I'm not talking any old medals here - I'm talking quality medals in real sports like sailing and rowing and track and field...come on - a deal is a deal! I'll go 1 sailing and one cycling (the UK has a load of those already!) for your trampolining and 4 weeks of +28C - BARGAIN!

@KmaXXX, I'd gladly send you some of this 30 degree humid weather for a week of cool Saint John fog. Maritimers aren't used to this.

Here's one I can share with 4HF'ers: Two Habs fans (I'm one of them) are discussing the weaknesses and strengths (few) of the team and the upcoming season. A third gentleman says to us "do you guys have your wills made up?" Why, we ask? "Are you going to ask to have some Habs as pallbearers at your funerals.....so they can let you down one last time!"

    Good one!!!!!!

.......and that's why I don't watch the olympics anymore. Corruption is rampant. Deals are cut everywhere and all the time. Based on comments by other folks and player interviews the Norwegian referee may as well have been wearing a U.S. jersey.

  9. I’ve probably watched well over 1000 soccer games in my life, at all levels from the World Cup, to the Olympics, to the Premier League, Serie A, etc… etc…

I have literally NEVER seen this rule called as an indirect free kick in the box. NEVER.

It is normally a warning from the Referee to the goalie that comes first…. something Ms. Mcleod says was never given.

It is usually followed by a yellow card at the next stoppage in play, not by an indirect free kick directly infront of the net.

    Go Habs Go!

    2. Earlier in the day, FIFA announced the referee selections for the final two games of the tournament and Pedersen’s name was absent from the list, meaning she will not be in charge of another game at London 2012.

    3. I also read that this is not unusual as refs must have days of in between matches.
