MaxHaboom! Mercredi (yeah still wet but WTFuck a parody!)

Maxhaboom!

DGMB helping the kids buy their fur coat$
But wait Trevor's babies have just been born
Unpacking their bags and just setting up
And planting contracts to a 25th Stanley Cup

But in the meantime 4Hfers got it hard
Bloggered for living with moe the card
It may be years until the day
Our 4HF dreams will matCH up with Habs play

Old Rivet road
Was knee deep in snow
Watching the summer as he grows old

We got Max to stick it out
And make a home from a purCHased house
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done

How many aCHres, how much plight?
Tucked in their wood and PFKucking out of sight!
Talk to the neighbours and TFS™ my cap
On a little blog barely on the map

Old Rivet road
Knee deep in fucking snow
Watching Gorgeous Josh as we grow bold
Old Rivet road
Gainey travelled that road
Watching these Habs as we grow, well I'm sold

  3. Montreal number 16? WTF. I have been to 7 of the top ten cities and Montreal is way better than Calgary or Toronto, its no contest. Never been to Vancouver but no way it beats Sydney. Berlin or Munich top Toronto and Calgary by a wide margin as well.

Vancouver is almost completely owned by asians. No matter what anybody says Calgary is still a Ka-Boy town and anybody who thinks that Tranna is a place to live is obviously a few dilithium crystals short of a warp core. Calgary is so dry during the summer when you are used to living in The Bell Province with it's million lakes. I don't get number 16 either, but we should have the same attitude that the folks from Oregon have. They just want everybody to stay away, so they can have to place to themselves ...

  8. RIP Harry Harrison, and I hope your estate sells some books to Hollywood. The Stainless Steel rat a no brainer, Deathworld as a mini series. And best of all Bill the Galatic Hero.

A new series reminding me of Harry's work is Contiuum.

  9. This tells me Buttman is afraid DGMB's re-structuring.

'According to TSN hockey analyst Aaron Ward, the offer also calls for a limit on 'non-player' spending such as costs for head coaching, front office and management payrolls'.

  10. Hudon does well and a pep talk from Ken Dryden.

“Ken Dryden came in and spoke with us before the final game. It meant a lot for us to be able to talk with him. It was also a strange experience to meet him in person after having just watched him on film in all those Summit Series games beforehand,” shared Hudon, on his time with the Habs’ former all-star netminder.

“He spent about 15 minutes telling us all about his experiences from 1972,” he continued. “He told us that we were on the verge of creating our own memories, and that it was now our turn and we had the chance to write our own history.”

  13. I very quickly caught a glimpse of a segment on the news yesterday about a student protest and a flag caught my eye. I looked for the video but can't seem to find it.
It was the image on the flag that caught my attention.

I'm not sure, because I can't find the clip. I thought it may have been the image used on the FLQ manifesto? If so, why? Maybe it was some union logo? It's been gnawing at it me.

This is the only pic I could find (#13). It's from June - not sure why I didn't notice the flag before now. Does anyone know what this flag is?

    2. C'mon, everyone knows it's gotta be the Beachcombers.

      Delete
    3. The littlest Hobo was a beautiful charming show, but aimed at and best enjoyed by children.
The beachcombers was pretty weak on plot, basically a homage to Bruno Gerussi. There was nothing brilliant about it, it was very well lit.
Trailer Park Boys is Genius, how many Littlest Hobo Movies have their been.

Trailer Park Boys, made in the Maritimes. My favourite episode: Where The Fuck Is Ricky's Barbeque?

The Littlest Hobo was the Canadian version of Lassie.

I always liked "The Forest Rangers" too.

  18. NASA
    Wake up, not-so-little rover.
Every Mars morning, NASA researchers play a song to wake up Miss Curiosity. Today, during their Reddit AMA, they revealed their most recent choices.
Her playlist so far, according to "EMB" aka Eric Blood, who works in surface systems:
Sol 2: "Good Morning Good Morning" Beatles, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club
Sol 3: "Good morning, good morning" from Singing in the Rain.
Sol 5: Wagner "The ride of the valkyries" R10 Victory Song: Theme from "Mission Impossible"
Sol 6: "Got the Time" by Anthrax, and "Echelon" by 30 Seconds to Mars
Sol 7: The Doors - "Break on Through", and George Harrison - "Got My Mind Set on You"
Sol 8: Theme from Star Wars by John Williams
Sol 9: Wake Up Little Susie by Simon and Garfunkel
Sol 10: Frank Sinatra "Come Fly with me"
