  3. Moeman - You had me with the swinging keychain!

I'm incredulous that there is going to be another work stoppage...I don't know what more to say...somebody's gotta get this fucker done...seriously...aren't we really only talking about a couple of points on a bazillion dollars - I know it's not quite that simple and there is the whole matter of pride and all that bullshit - but the players and the owners are both forgetting the fact that the kind of numbers they are dealing with are beyond the wildest imaginations of about 99% of true hockey fans. So in real terms it's like that far side comic with the sheep (or dog or whatever)...the owners and players are talking about reducing from 57% to 43% or maybe 46% or whatever and eventually ending up at 50/50. Most of the true hockey fans are hearing..."blah blah blah...I make a bazillion dollars a year and I'm not happy and want more - blah blah blah"

  8. At this very moment, our beloved Habs are presenting their case to the QLB. One? of the arguments is that the NHLPA is not a union, they are an "association".
    I don't thank that's gonna fly....aren't their actions that of a union?

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
    Go Habs Go!

No Tits for Steve.....or Kate I guess.

Buttman should just STFU. I find his voice very annoying and I don't believe one word that comes out of his mouth.

  20. Not quite sure what this means, anyone know a lawyer who can decipher?

"The NHL players’ association lost Round 1 at Quebec’s labour relations board on Friday, but the substance of the case has yet to be decided".

    1. A little clearer now...

"While the commission denied the players' request for emergency relief, it also rejected the NHL's request to dismiss the case. The ruling acknowledges that the players have raised issues about the legality of the NHL's planned lockout that require a full hearing on the merits.

    2. PFK not on the list, but here's who was.

No players attended the hearings in Montreal. The players listed on the decision were Peter Budaj, Colby Armstrong, David Desharnais, Brian Gionta, Andre Markov, Max Pacioretty, Brandon Prust, Yannick Weber, Rene Bourque, Erik Cole, Lars Eller, Josh Gorges, Petteri Nokelainen, Carey Price, Travis Moen and Ryan White.

  21. Hockey legend Jean Beliveau will not side with the players or the owners, but in an emotional appeal asks for the NHL to remember the fans.

"I'm not as fast as I used to be, walking with my cane, so I'm looking forward to those games," says the Hockey Hall of Famer and Order of Canada icon.

"I wish to both parties that they find a way to reach an agreement."

Listen to Jean Beliveau's reminder to the current players as well, about the legacy of players who went before long before labour strife in hockey pit billionaires against millionaires.

    1. Some owners do not practice what Buttman is preaching for them. Some long term, big money contracts rushed through before the lockout.
Of course I'd be ok if PK gets long term, big money signing pushed through before midnight.

I'm told there's no chance Subban signs in MTL today, same with Del. Zotto in NYC and quite likely same for Kane (WPG) and O'Reilly (COL).
