  1. Merci Moeman! I love it when SF arrives before noon over 'ere!

Now I've watched all the video I can bear about how negotiations are going and have come to the following (not earth shattering by any means) conclusions...

Firstly - without being too obvious - Bettman is so full of shit it's unbelievable. His feigned concern over reports of the proposition they put to the players being leaked was laughable. And so that was his justification for publishing the full text!? How stupid does he think we are? He can't disreagrd the media when it suits him and then pretend to be be worried when he needs their help. He put it out there so that he'd be seen in a good light (sorry - not possible!)

Second - the players were never going to accept this offer but Bettman figured if they were pressured they would buckle. If they didn't they would look bad - so win-win for him. Sorry fuckface but it's lose-lose! Your body language said "I don't give a fuck" so why should we?

Lastly (for now at least) - If someone stands in front of the media and repeatedly says "This is the best offer we can make" - where exactly does that leave the negotiations? His desire to "negotiate" is bullshit if he insists that he can not make any better offer. He might as well say "Here it is. Take this offer now or fuck off to Russia because we are not going to do a deal in your lifetime" And now he is going to re-look at financial commitments around the Winter Classic. That means he now needs to figure out how much longer he can drag this out before he has to change his approach and save his own skin. Because if he loses the Winter Classic, he will be toast as far as the owners are concerned. Even though I want hockey to start as soon as, I could give a shit about the winter classic and it would be worth not having if it meant the end of Buttman!

  3. And here's the last point I forgot to mention...jjust before the lockout there were a handful of large contracts signed by owners who form part of the negotiating committee for the owners. The players put a proposal to them yesterday that said "OK - we'll take your 50/50 offer but you have to honour all the contracts you have already signed in full" The owners dismissed this idea out of hand. That sounds to me like fraud on the owners part. They signed them knowing full well there would be an agreement whereby they wouldn't have to honour them. Moeman - you're a lawyer - can they do that?

I'm now understanding why Geoff Molson hasn't yet signed PFK - he clearly has more class than those fuckwits from Boston and Minny. Or maybe PFK's agent was wise to what was happening...? I'd like to think that Geoff has the class...mind you there were other signings by the Habs in the run up to lockout...hmmm

    2. The lawyer I know has only represented me with regards to some minor incidences (some call them bar brawls). I (we) won every case and luckily he accepts payments in the form of beer. FWIW, the last judge (a gingerish hottie) laughed out loud about his oven mitts as he fumbled with the combo lock on his red italian leather briefcase.

I thought that lawyer preferred something called meth. Or was that ice cream?

    2. Ha Ha! That's what I get for looking at SF from my phone instead of my lappie...I'm killing myself laughing! Funny how I defaulted to the breast. I should have reminded myself that you always end SF with an "end" - so why would today be any different. Never mind - it it a top quality end and keeps me on my toes. Nice one!!

The whole thing is just so smelly and so insulting.
To think that Buttman expects us to believe his shit.
He should just fuck off and stay fucked off.
There must be some owners out there womndering just what kind of leadership this little shit is providing for his what is it eight million a year.
Bad press, no respect, lockouts, teams with empty houses and no TV revenu.
Prob has a little dick too.
They need an commish who loves and respects the game. Not some little fuck ass NY lawyer.

When fuckface Buttman is talking to the press, that's all he's talking to. I don't think he cares what the ordinary person thinks about all this crap. Jeremy Jacobs is running this show, Buttman is just his sock puppet.

I've got a hunch if this lockout is prolonged, the NHL is going to pay a huge price financially. A lot of long time fans like myself are getting fed up with these labour disputes and may not return.

  8. Stand firm, NHLPA. I no longer care if there is no season. Of course I will miss it but if this is the way to put a stop to bettman and the NHL - do it.
I hope they lose the winter classic, that`ll kick èm where it hurts - right in the wallets.

    Fuck off bettman.

Just for the record, the NHLPA is not completely innocent here either. Donald Fehr is one of the guilty party who put the death sentence on my beloved Expos and thus my no longer watching baseball anymore. It's ironic he may put the kiss of death on my watching NHL hockey. Probably not though, my loyalty to the Habs may be too hard to overcome.

Steve, Blues to Saskatoon, Yotes to Quebec City, Panthers to Halifax and Devils to Markham? Whence the Ducks? Oh, and no team in Halifax would be called the Humpbacks, they are west coast whales. We have Right Whales on the east coast. How about the Bluenosers for the Halifax team?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ducks fold, no NHL cities left, maybe Ft Mcmurray, call them the Tar Sands. Bluenosers would be cool, the sweater with a sailboat would be a huge seller.

      Haw! Haw!

Always liked Mike McPhee, good Cape Breton lad. Watched him start a huge comeback against Mike Richter and the Rangers back in the early 90's at the Forum. Final: 6-4 Habs, a good night.

      Delete
    2. No he didn't. (The Savior Gardiner scored their lone goal). But he was an asshole. Dumont HATES Kadri and was in his face all night. Kadri had a shit fit and there was a full scrum. In the end Kadri hit Brendan Nash with Dumont's helmet rather than actually fight.

They're back at it tonight. I half expect Caveman Stortini to start something since he went after the Marlies at the end of the game (another end of game shit fit)

Wonky Highlights! A scrambly Mayer! Noticing all the Bulldogs goals are net crashers. No empty net goal though. Tonight's game is on TV. Sportsnet might be pro-Leaf though so I may suggest TVA.

  24. Bulldogs down 2-0 already. I'm not entirely shocked by this honestly. Defensive errors on breakdowns.

I did however expect Stortini to fight someone before Gabby Dumont though ;p

Meh, MB just saying the Bulldogs are the second youngest team in the league and it's 3 zip. You knew the Marlies were going to come out hard after last night.

Robert Mayer is not the best, never really impressed me when he was here in Saint John.

  38. No luck for the Bulldogs. In other news, Yvon Pedneault still fucks up names. Nicolas Beaulieu!

Also there's a CFL snow game!!!

  39. Eventually the Bulldogs will shed these Junior tendencies and get up to the speed of the pro-game. One-timers need work. You can't score all your goals by just crashing the net.
