  4. Happy SF everybody. FYB! - on this weekend of remembrance, let us stop and have a moment's silence for the games we have all lost this season. Let us all pray that we never have to endure another fall without hockey. Let us pray for the resuming of our beloved national sport and for the ultimate remward - the banishing of GFB (Gary Fuckin' Buttman) for all of eternity.

    Ahmen!

    FYB!! FYB!! FYB!!!

Moeman - lovely SF - great way to end the week!

  6. I find it very interesting to see Buttman squirming in his press conferences these days. Previously he'd say he didn't want to make any comments on negotiations then proceed to tell all. Now that his fuckin scrawny ass is on the line, he's decided he best STFU and get a deal done. He's right but as soon as this deal does get done - He's toast! Mark my words

  8. Reading Fehr's letter to the players, I don't really see much optimism.

I don't usually comment on SF but this one seemed to appeal to all of my own personal perversions ... great job!
Love the Obama vs Mitt length comparison.
Also just what kind of a name is Mitt, or Tagg for that matter. Couda been Derr or Phuff ... I digress.

I really need some hockey. Daughtor is going to the Bulldogs tonight, good for her.

Fehr and Bettman are playing a big game of chicken. If they decide to kill the season, wow, the collateral damage will be huge. Sponsors will desert left and right. Could set the NHL back for years. What have the players got to lose? Nothing, really. As long as they can make their mortgage payments they can wait it out. That is Fehr's gameplan: wait and wait some more. Maybe a couple of franchises would fold. Big, big stakes being played for. Even Steve would be nervous playing in this game.

Now, more importantly, what am I drinking tonight?

    1. I'd have no qualms not having hockey this season if it means the downfall of Buttface and possibly the fall of the NHL, though I'm sure that ugly MF is gone after this anyway.

The Canadiens were here long before and will be here long after.

Next time, they won't be stupid enough to let a fistful of owners rule the roost nor sign a commissioner who has to have 80% of the vote to be ejected.

I hope players have a nice little nest egg to fall back on.

  14. Just a GORGEOUS and HOT SF moe. And fun too. Kudos.

4th straight day of bargaining. Hope? Change? Fingers crossed. I'm already sick of basketball, I need hockey. Speaking of b-ball, Lakers coach fired amid disarray and a 1-4 start. Suck it Kobe.

  15. Not sure who, but a new issue raised was - who is responsible to make up for the lost revenue this season?

Talk about pouring gasoline into the fire.

  18. Get well Ti-Boom.

"Canadiens centre Blake Geoffrion had surgery Friday after suffering a head injury during an American Hockey League game between the Hamilton Bulldogs and Syracuse Crunch in Montreal.

Geoffrion left the game in the first period after taking a hard check from Syracuse's J.P. Cote. After the check, Cote's skate appeared to make contact with Geoffrion's head. Geoffrion was left bleeding, but skated off the Bell Centre ice under his own power before being rushed to hospital.

Bulldogs head coach Sylvain Lefebvre said Geoffrion underwent surgery and that the injury was "not life-threatening." Geoffrion's parents joined him at the hospital.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family," Lefebvre said.

Geoffrion is the grandson of legendary Habs winger Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion. Drafted in the second round of the 2006 National Hockey League draft by the Nashville Predators, the 24-year-old was traded to the Canadiens on Feb. 17 as part of a deal that sent Hal Gill to the Music City. In 55 games with the Preds and Habs, Blake has five goals and eight assists for 13 points."

Over 18,000 at the Bell Centre last night for an AHL game. Looks like Gary and the boys have no worries with this market when they return sometime in 2013.

  20. I know it's early but...I want Randy Cunneyworth back to coach the Bulldogs. Lefebvre should stick to teaching defense.

I also want to boot Stortini to Wheeling and replace him with Ian Schultz!

That picture of Rod Langway reminds me of the days when teams actually made trades to improve themselves instead of just dumping salary. The Canadiens traded Langway, Brian Engblom, Doug Jarvis and Craig Laughlin for Ryan Walter and Rick Green. Langway was a pillar on defence for the Capitals and won the Norris trophy once I think. Washington went from also-rans to a solid team with those additions. Ryan Walter was one of my favourite players back in the 80's and Rick Green was a great addition to the Habs blueline and those two were instrumental in the Cup victory in 1986 along with some rookie goalie who played out of his mind that spring.

Keep throwing those vintage pictures up there moe, it stirs up some good hockey memories versus the bullshit we have to go through with the likes of Gary (Lock'emout) Bettman running the show.

Heh, I watched the movie Dr. Strangelove yesterday, hadn't seen it in decades. The most vivid image of that movie of course is Slim Pickens riding the nuke to the ground like a buckin' bronco. Kinda like what the NHL and NHLPA are doing. Kaboom!

  30. Ahh, "Ginger", one of the great characters from 60's TV, but also one of the great illusions. Most guys from my generation were hooked on Maryann. Women thought it was Ginger we all liked.

This is not disimilar to the great "Jennifer Marlow / Bailey Quarters" deception of the 1970's. Good to see a picture of Ginger anyway.....
