    1. Yeah, saw it on the weekend. Thought it was à propos.

Also, the music is from a Tranna band called Blue Peter.

      That was a crazy movie.

What did you think of Argo? I picked up on the Argofuckyourself on the other thread.

I watched one Saturday night called Fair Game about betrayed CIA agent Valerie Plame. What a "Bush" league administration the US had from 2000-08.

    3. Loved Argo. A solid 8/10. True to the story. Well crafted. Stay for the credits and the credit given Jimmy Carter.

I did! Too bad he didn't get the credit he was due.

Then came Rompin' Ronnie and his cowboy diplomacy.

  7. BCE is gonna try again.
This time they'll ask for CRTC exception to allow the Montreal station TSN Radio 690 (CKGM) continue to operate as an English-language sport talk radio channel.

I used to have a place in Vermont. Back then Canada didn't have Little Debbie's. Heck they didn't have a lot of things here that they did then. Now....

  13. I witnessed something like that sparrow fight but with ants. I'm serious. It was in my parent's backyard. The ants formed a ring and two of them went at it. Eventually two more ganged up on the loser and the crowd moved to the grass somewhere.

    1. This weekend a dove bumped into my front window. I checked the scene and it's fair feathered friend stood by him/her as he/she shook off the effect of the smack into the pane. It lasted maybe 20 minutes as the best friend bird hung out until the buddy bird was cool to fly off. It was freakin' gorgeous to see.

    2. N31, you been hanging out with Steve lately?

    4. All good juce but I'm telling you to watch those two birds affection, dedication and protection was a thing of beauty. Through the window, I could see they saw me. I dared not open the front door to scare them off.

    5. I did see both the beauty of nature's love of kind and the dilemma of the protector dove. I would have been a statue.

It't just that I read the billow logs and laughed and then went right away read about the doves.

      I laughed and I cried.

  15. "The league and players brought new faces to the table to see if they could jumpstart talks. Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke sat in with league commissioner Gary Bettman alongside owners Ted Leonsis (Washington), Murray Edwards (Calgary) and Jeremy Jacobs (Boston).

That didn’t lead to an agreement."

I forgot about the billet logs. They are (were) good. I can't eat that stuff anymore, it goes right to my gut.

Speaking of old chemical cakes, here's a good one. After the Walking Dead, there is a half hour reality show called Comic Book Men. It is about a comic book store in Red Bank, New Jersey called the Secret Stash. Stuff comes into the store all the time and last Sunday a guy brought in a box of unopened Batman cereal from 1989 that he managed to keep intact from his days in college. The store gave him $25 for it. One of the staff (Ming) wanted to try it so the boys opened it up and he had a bowl.....hilarious!!!! It was still good though. Better living through chemistry! And preservatives!!

  19. Good read.

“I strongly believe that, even in Canada, the fans will not come as strongly back as they did after the last lockout, and they will not come back in the same state of mind. They will know, in the back of their heads, that they can be cheated and betrayed by the league – and it seven years it may very well start again.

That tactic is not exclusive to the PQ. The first thing the Alward Tories did when they were elected was raise the the price of cigs, booze and gas. If you do it early in your mandate, people will 1) eventually forget about it, or 2) find something else to get pissed off about when voting time rolls around.
