Still all alone, got home baked beans in the slowcooker and my choice of:

    Czech beer
    Irish beer
    English beer
    Guinness or
Japanese beer....plus Maritime beer as well.

Hoping to be able stream the Habs game tonight otherwise I'm waiting for the asteroid strike.

No, thought about it actually, but I prefer tomato flavour with a little molasses.

Fancy thread theme. Never could get into Pink Floyd. Have some of their early albums but not my taste. Probably better live.

  2. All alone here, too (nothing new there, sad face). Made a pot of chili and watched Argo, though no beer tonight. I'd just like to thank the Americans for allowing us Canadians to take all the credit for the ingenious plan to rescue the hostages. Soviet revisionist history ain't got nothing on Hollywood.

Time for bed, up early for the game (damn you daylight savings time!). GO HABS GO!

When I saw it at the cinema, I went hmmmmmm. Not quite the same as the Canadian made movie starring Gordon Pinsent way back in 1981 or so but it kinda made sense that the CIA would have laid low and not take a lot of credit to protect the other hostages. Now, it's been revealed that Mr. Affleck didn't give credit where it was due to Ken Taylor and his staff.

Orangeman, are you nervous now that North Korea has ended the truce? I don't think you can stream Habs games at a North Korean prison camp.

  6. Excellent preview moe. I have many Dark Side memories I am sure, but due to drug taking I have only the vaguest of recollections

I did try doing the Dark Side - Wizard of Oz thing once, and it was cool, but I really didn't see it.

  7. I can't in all honesty sitt hee tonight and hope for a leaf win. Never will! Sorry - I just cannot and will not do it. Sorry and I do understand your feelings about pushing the broons further down the table...but I not capable of wanting the leaf to win any game ever!! Sorry.

For the first tim ein a long while I will only be interested in several broons sufffering major career threatening injuries. This would create a perfect win/win as that would result in leaf players getting hefty suspensions.

    Is that too warped?

If the leaf win it's good for the Habs. If they lose, well, who gives a fuck I don't. No lose situation. Bonus, we get to hear clod whine and bitch about some dive. Then if Montreal is up by 4 points after tonight then the broons can beat the snot out of the leaf Monday night.

      Delete
    2. the M., are you ready to hear, on a fucking loop, that the leaf helped the Habs? I'm not. Our Canadiens will finish their season where they decide, based on their play. The leaf and broon can fuck off and die.

    1. Concert memories still Chill the bones. For me, probably an ARA Hip 'Wheat Kings' moment and/or maybe Joe Jackson telling people to get the fuck up and dance at the NAC. (I was already dancing when he screamed that).

    2. 1987 U2 Joshua Tree at the Big Owe, Bono with his arm in a cast. talk about 60,000 singing KmaXXX, they were singing 40 all the way home on the metro

While I am on the Big Owe, Guns 'n Roses riot night. Now THAT was a show

But back to Floyd, saw the Waters-less version at the Forum on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. Great show, but just not 100% Floyd. My bro and sis went to The Wall show at the Forum in 1979, but I was just a little too young to go with them. Still irks me

    3. the Maritimer5:07 PM

My concert pinnacle was the Rolling Stones Bigger Bang Tour at Magnetic Hill, in Moncton, NB in 2005. Almost 80,000 on the Hill, I think Mick and Keith were truly amazed that many people came to a small town in the Maritimes. A quote from Keith: "Wow, where have you been all my life?" I was hoping for one song, probably my fave, the live version of Midnight Rambler and they played it. I could have died happy after that.

OK, I have time for an episode of Battlestar Galactica before the game.

Just look forward. b2b wins on Tue/Wed might, maybe, hopefully at least shut those fucks up for a short time. Maybe. Nah, they'd spin it as luck, reffing, or some cosmic fuckup of some sort. I hate it when this team loses.

    1. Actually watching the highlights we outchanced them by a large margin, TFS played a solid game, could have had the second goal, but it was no softie. We are missing a top four defence and a top six forward so no reason to panic.

  81. We have a win win trade history with St Lou, so how about Chris Stewart?

We have been a little bit spoiled with this unexpected season. I thought for sure the Habs would be cannon fodder again this year with nobody who could score and a small soft defence that would let teams run roughshod over Price. So, whatever happens from here on in is gravy. If they make the playoffs it gives us another week or so to watch hockey that matters (to Habs fans). That was one fucking long off season for us to endure so I'll take whatever I can get.

There are rally only about four sellers in the whole league right now, Colorado, Calgary, Florida and Tampa. Is there anybody on those teams that could enhance the Habs lineup without giving up the farm? And please don't say Vinnie.

I knew you would mention Huberdeau, they already have a flashier version in gCHuk. MB will looking for a savvy veteran with playoff experience. I'll look into it.

OK, I would go after Curtis Glencross from Calgary for net presence, Shane O'Brien from Colorado a big nasty D-man 6-3, 230. From Florida nobody really and from TB Teddy Purcell, I like his game. Any one of these guys would be worth pursuing for the right price. No, not that Price.

    5. when you make a move you have to put a new part in the team that is a work of art. So right now, I would not change a thing. I would tell the boys, we could have but we believe your the thing.
