Nice vintage Hab on Saint Paddy's day. Rick Green.
From the sounds of it I didn't miss much re: Devils/Habs, I usually avoid those anyway, boring as all get out. I caught the last ten minutes of Jets/leaf that was actually fun to watch. 10 round shootout to boot.
Ok so it Tiny, Tin Man, Tin Tin, Longfellow TTMTTL for short. But there is no doubt about Lego. If TTMTTL lives up to his early potential plan the parade for the next decade.
I was at the Hamilton vs. Ice Caps game last night. Nathan Bealieu is going to be a Superstar in the NHL. When he is on the ice, you just can’t take your eyes off of him. He can skate circles around everyone on the ice. He is so smooth with the puck and has a rocket of a shot. He still needs to get a lot better defensively and in his own end, but that will come in time. However, offensively, he is unreal. I would love to see how he would play at the NHL level this year even for a game or 2. I was also impressed with Holland and Bournival. LL was really disappointing. I was really looking forward to watching LL, but he was probably one of the worst guys on the ice. I was speaking to a fellow Habs fan at the game and he said he has watched him probably 4 or 5 times this year. We all want him to do well, but it looks as though he will have a hard time making it to Montreal. He is def not top 6, and the way our top 9 is playing, there is no way he makes it anytime soon. He is too soft as a 4th liner(He was getting pushed off the puck at will last night). Anyways, all our prospects have improved a lot since I last see them play in November, except for LL. Greg Pateryn played a great game last night as well. He was actually carrying the puck through the neutral zone quite a bit and was hitting everyone. Guess he wants to get back up to Montreal sooner rather than later.
When Nathan played for the Sea Dogs it was obvious he was a riverboat gambler. I always said they would beat that out of him when he turned pro. Excellent skater with good offensive instincts I'll hazard a guess that he will eventually be Vodkov's replacement. Him and PFK(TFS) will be deadly on the PP.
Lots of trade rumours about the Habs in Garrioch's Sun column today. Clowe, Perry, Regehr, the usual BS. They may even move Giant over the summer. I could see that as Kid G will take his spot.
Interesting times the next few weeks to see what MB does. Does he stay the course with the rebuild or take a shot with a top 4 finish in all likelihood?
I think its time to spend on the draft. Panther, Sabers, Calgary and Columbus should be open to some picks and prospects to get their number one, any of these teams could take the top pick all of them should have a top five pick. Our pipline is full to breaking. We only have room for six D, PFK, (Y). Diazling, Tin Tin, Belideau, so that leaves one spot and we have four super prospects in the tank. Take two. louis louis Leblanc may have plateued, sorry add him, Daniel Prybil, we are loaded at center he is expendable and attractive. Add in a swap of first round picks, maybe a second and we are making an offer some team can not refuse.
my pick, in four years DDD and Superplexxx likely both done. This giant can play fourth line in a couple of years. Of course I would like the Druid, cause I am a pagan at heart. It is important for Montreal to have a French Star.
Erin go braugh, FHFers! Too cold to parade for me and anyway going to pay my respects for my non-hockey friend's mother who passed away this week. R.I.P.
Love that pot of CH, moeman - they really are gold this year.
The front-runner in the race to become the next leader of the Quebec Liberal Party promises to open the way for Quebec to sign the Canadian Constitution and officially become part of the Canadian federation.
Philippe Couillard made the commitment during his speech before more than 2,600 party delegates gathered to elect the next Liberal leader.
“I cannot conceive anyone getting involved in Quebec politics and choose Canada without seeing Quebec one day reintegrate into the Canadian family,” Mr. Couillard said. “We cannot consign to oblivion an issue so strongly symbolic as the absence of Quebec’s signature on the Constitution of Canada.”
Mr. Couillard argued that this issue which has divided Quebeckers over so many years should be approached in a spirit of openness and shared values with the rest of Canada.
Just saw the trailer for The Last Gladiators - the doc about Knuckles. Looks amazing. Anybody seen it yet? I miss that guy - the only good thing (besides the Patriots and technically they're a suburb) to come out of Boston. Evah.
W.C Fields Now don't say you can't swear off drinking; it's easy. I've done it a thousand times.
How well I remember my first encounter with The Devil's Brew. I happened to stumble across a case of bourbon--and went right on stumbling for several days thereafter.
Back in my rummy days, I would tremble and shake for hours upon arising. It was the only exercise I got.
Thou shalt not kill anything less than a fifth.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house unless they have a well-stocked bar.
Somebody's been putting pineapple juice in my pineapple juice!
Say, Mr. Fields, I read in the paper where you consumed two quarts of liquor a day. What would your father think about that? WC: He'd think I was a sissy.
I exercise extreme self control. I never drink anything stronger than gin before breakfast.
I don't believe in dining on an empty stomach.
Say anything that you like about me except that I drink water.
Of course, now I touch nothing stronger than buttermilk: 90-proof buttermilk.
Some weasel took the cork out of my lunch...
I never drank anything stronger than beer before I was twelve.
I seldom took a drink on the set before 9 a.m.
Fields gave this rationale for not drinking water: Fish f*ck in it.
I certainly do not drink all the time. I have to sleep you know.
In response to a waiter who'd offered him a Bromo Seltzer for a hangover, Fields said: Ye Gods, no! I couldn't stand the noise.
Airline hostess: Should I get you a bromo? WC: No. I couldn't stand the noise.
A woman drove me to drink, and I'll be a son-of-a-gun but I never even wrote to thank her.
I've been on a 46-year diet of olives and alcohol. The latter I consume. The former I save and use over again in more alcohol. In my lifetime, I imagine, I have consumed at least $200,000 worth of whisky.
It's a wonderful thing, the D.T.'s. You can travel the world in a couple of hours. You see some mighty funny and curious things that come in assorted colors.
Sleep...the most beautiful experience in life--except drink.
Secretary: Someday you'll drown in a vat of whiskey. WC (an aside): Drown in a vat of whiskey? Oh death, where is thy sting?
During one of my treks through Afghanistan, we lost our corkscrew. We were compelled to live on food and water for several days.
I feel like a midget with muddy feet had been walking over my tongue all night.
Christmas at my house is always at least six or seven times more pleasant than anywhere else. We start drinking early. And while everyone else is seeing only one Santa Claus, we'll be seeing six or seven.
If at first you don't succeed, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it.
A man who overindulges lives in a dream. He becomes conceited. He thinks the whole world revolves around him; and it usually does.
Fields' epitaph: All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia.
I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally.
A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money.
Never cry over spilt milk, because it may have been poisoned.
Never mind what I told you--you do as I tell you.
Don't worry about your heart, it will last you as long as you live.
I can do anything I want to do!
It's what you do that counts and not what you say; therefore I fired my press agent.
Speakin' of the city, it ain't no place for women, gal, but perty men go thar.

TSN proudly proclaims, "Vancouver is lower than the leaf in the standings! They're closer to missing the playoffs!" They both have the same amount of points, they're both tied for 6th (tie breakers are the difference), the Canucks are 2 pts out of 9th, the leaf is 3. Calm down, TSN. Why would that even be hysterical news in the first place?
Oh, because expectations were higher in Vancouver. Therefore, the leaf is 'better'. By the way, TSN, Vancouver is tied with Minny for the lead in NW division. The leaf is 4th in the NE, 10 points out. So, again, calm yourselves.
Dave Hodge wants crossover in the new realignment, so the Cup finalists could come from either Conference.
"So we can get a Toronto-Montreal final". The leaf can't even make the playoffs without the Wings in their division. I also like the fact that they blame the format for the Habs not meeting the leaf in the playoffs yet. Don't blame the game, blame the team that hasn't made the post season in a decade.
hodge is a blue-haired leaf rimjobber, always a hasbeen always will be. The fact that he let his tronna career wilt on a pencil fling makes him an even funnier, haha, story. What an empty shallow piece of garbage.
Clover cat! Nice.
