TMS welcomes the Boys home

Bullet points for what you missed while having nightmares of getting eliminated by the Americans...
  • Another perfect Sunshine State trip;
  • 8 out of 10 points on the longest road trip of the season;
  • Now 9-2-2 on the road overall;
  • 11-1-3 in our last 15;
  • N31's bullet points;
  • CCR got his first goal as a Hab (this time), his 100th in a Habs uni, then added another for good measure, and now has 9 points in 7 GP with the Habs;
  • PFK had 3A and is now tied for fourth-leading scorer amongst D in the league;
  • A brilliant second goal by Cube going top-shelf (3:17 mark of the vid above):

Welcome home boys. Enjoy a quieter week for a change. You've earned it.

    Good morning 4HFer's, I had a full family day yesterday so I had to PVR the game and watch it later so couldn't comment. The lads handled the Cats pretty easily, man that is a bad team. If I was Huberdeau I'd be sneaking onto the Habs charter this morning begging for asylum. Yeah, Cube scored two beauties last night. So, Boston should be playing about 6 games this week to get caught up right? I'm not to concerned about first overall...sometimes it's better to be the hunter not the hunted. A solid 4th is good in my books, open at home. Great road trip, I'm starting to believe this team is for real just needs a tweak or two to be a real threat.

    One other thing - The CCR/Cole trade - I bet assistant GM Rick Dudley had something to do with that. The guy seems to have a knack for spotting talent or players who fit in. Another slick move by MB to fuck with the leaf whom he took him from. Take a breather boys you earned it.

    2. I love that we're all laughing about it, but imagine it was a one goal game. Steven Smith would call to console him. Eh, the kid got carried away with scoring. It's like a geek at the bar who gets a phone #, gets all cocky and pinches a girl's butt only for her to turn around and it be his sister. Happens to the best of us. Or just me?

    3. If they had lost on that goal, Cube would have stayed in Florida. In the trunk of a car.

  6. Habs prospect Magnus Nygren (I know right, who?), our 4th round pick from 2011, wins the top defenseman in the Swedish Elite League award. He is signed on to play another year in Sweden but Habs are apparently interested in bringing him over.

  7. Now that we are legitimate cup contenders what if anything do we buy to give us an edge. We need an HMS Gill. While our fourth line is way better than last year it needs more bang and more score. I think I am going for Jagar.

  8. So I guess some douche on ESPN shit talked the NHL, and hockey in general. Here is a response to that:
    http://thehockeywriters.com/the-chicago-blackhawks-miami-heat-and-espns-stephen-a-smith/

    Choice quote:
    The balance that has been developed in the NHL over the past eight seasons is unprecedented. Eight different teams have won the Stanley Cup in the past eight seasons. No team has repeated as a Stanley Cup champion since 1998. Half of the league has reached the conference finals stage (last four teams) in the past five seasons and 23 out of the 30 NHL teams have won their division since 2005-06. Only the Toronto Maple Leafs haven’t qualified for the playoffs since 2006.

      After what Darche Vader said about him? There will be no more TiTs in the Habs dressing room unless they come from Saint Catherine St.

      Mallard, MacLean and Kypreos begrudgingly give the 1st place Habs their due. They don't know why the Habs are so good other than PFK and General Vodkov are carrying the team. And they are playing the "overload" system. Most of us play the "overload system" when were watching Saturday night. They keep waiting for the wheels fall off. Keep waiting.

  12. Just goes to show you, when the laff keep getting hyped over and over even when they haven't smelled the playoffs in 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 years there is no way they would give our Habs their due credit. I chalk it up to jealousy, what else could it be? Oh yeah - STUPIDITY! What a classless bunch of idiots.

      No, I'm afraid he is guilty of leaf hype as well, mandated by the cbc who must cater to the GTA masses.

      I called my TV service provider today to complain about being unable to watch the Quebec CBC feed from Montreal on Saturday nights. I told them I am tired of being force fed leaf games and would like the option to switch even if it means listening to bob cold. The person I spoke to said they will pass it on to whoever makes those decisions. Hopefully I have changed the world here in Atlantic Canada.

  14. Buttman and the (majority) owners are responsible for the lockouts, during which they poor-mouth, hide revenue and cry rivers. The players took a lot of bashing during the last one, lots of fans likened them to be spoiled brats. Now you Getzlaf getting a huge contract.
    Well, if anyone offered me big money, I'd take it too. At the end of the current CBA buttman will be crying all over again and try to take it out of the players' hides - again.

    5. I never knew people took things literally. So I will do the bad numbers over. And Fuck number one is one of those. Jesus I hope I do not produce a shit on number one.
      1) Canada is in the catbirds seat geographicly. History is kind to countries in this position. The other country sharing our good fortune is Russia. So hypotheitly when the mericians having basicly destroyed the planet come to rape an pillage in Canada, will we ask the Russkies to act as a deterance. Thats our only play believe me.
      2) Why do we continue to import problems into our lifeboat. With unemployement at record levels and record levels of Canadians without the skills to contribute at a high level, why bring in more people who have the same skills or less?
      3) We all know why pot is illegall, its a great mob money cash cow, and the govment gets all kinds of money to spend fighting thier friends in a grand kabuki theater. Society is the causualty. But somehow, someway people in the catbirds seat have just become totally nihilistic. They do not see a future. How sad is that.
      4)Why do more people not get just fucked up pissed off about one to three. Get up stand up.

    'darren pang is not a racist but he is a bald midget that spews racist comments but he is in no way a racist'

    rayferaROAR is in the prep room roaring about how he cannot figure out why the Habs are still in first but is likely thinking that another Canadian team, say boston, will win the East'

    'kadri should still qualify for the Calder'

    1. The M - if I may - the problem our beloved Moeman faces is a lack of options. As a sports fan he will naturally follow what he can in the media. Given where he lives, his options are limited. You live East where freedom of choice is far greater...so give the poor man a break - its not his fault. Its a CotU thing.

      Delete
    2. I want to reiterate that the leaf had the exact same amount of points after 25 games last year. They finished 2 points up on the Habs, 13th in the East (yet the media always seems to forget to mention this...they love to rag on the Habs finishing last but always fail to mention that the leaf were right there with them).

      Delete
  30. I personally get some sort of sick gratification watching the mediots in CotU praising the leaf and broon, while, if not just plain ignoring, completely dissing the habs because I know which of those 3 teams is a real hockey team with real fans.

    On another note, this isn't likely news to you lads, but I thought I'd surf over to si.com to see if they have any hockey (i.e. Habs) news posted. But first thing I saw was Swimsuit. So click and 30 minutes later here I am. Did you know they have loads of body paint photos of many of their models including our very own Ms Upton like this.

    Like I say, I'm sure you were already aware, but i was so excited i had to share.

    BTW, I would like nothing more than the Habs to take the leafs to the curb in the first round of the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  31. God damn it Sens. Hold a fucking lead, for chrissake.

  32. I guess I'm now watching what Moe was watching earlier on TSN. I'm 5:30 in, and they have stressed three times so far that GOING BY POINTS PER GAME, THE BRUINS WOULD BE IN FIRST GUYSSS!!1!!1!! Oh, and the leaf is definitely in the playoffs, who will they play first?
