So, let's see, third game in four nights and Tampa has some goalie with a religious name who's 6'-7" and has given the Habs fits before playing for some other team. This Saturday they play the white hot Capitals with OV8 on a mission.
I've decided to be positive (aka drink beer) and reassess my prediction for the game. 4-3 Habs. Boom. Done.
I haven't seen the last 2 games, but I'll state again that I'm not on board putting the blame on the whole team. Yeah, the defence probably hasn't been that great, but there are teams with much worse defence for the entire year that don't have goalies with .700s save % like Price and Buddha do in the last 3 games. I actually think I'm being positive by saying this. The whole team isn't collapsing, it's one, well two, guys going through a rough patch.
Sorry, you score 4 goals and allow 27 shots you should win the game, I don't care that they're in first. No defence, no matter how inept, can be held responsible for 7 goals against on what, 30 shots, against a non-playoff team with no superstars. Win as team, lose as a team, sure. I'm not saying it's time to run up the hill with pitchforks and fires. I'm just saying I'm not giving up on the whole team just because one or two guys have a few off games.
But the boys will rebound and get a solid win tomorrow/tonight.
Also want to say that Boston had a classy, thoughtful and emotional ceremony last night. The outpouring of support and bravery their community has displayed this week speaks to the character of that great city, and we must always try to remember it's just a game.
I mean, their Cup is still tainted. And the team's a bunch of goons. But the city and the people there (of which I know a few, thank god they're too unhealthy to participate or even watch a marathon) are outstanding.
The way Kid G has been playing and goals like this make me think the end is not near. I cant think of anyone scoring this goal(for Montreal) in recent history. Plus TFS seems to be shaking it off.
Oh and PK got in another fight. He really needs to work on that first punch, cause he fell down on the follow through again. Then when he has Morrow at his mercy, he fails to wail. Oh man.
Well, any team the Habs may face in the first round "might" give them problems. There are no sure things for any team. The only team I don't want to face is the leaf. Not because I'm scared of them, I just wouldn't be able to handle the media's treatment of the series no matter the outcome.
The Bleacher Report, like everyone else, has been poo-pooing the Habs all season. They dismissed even the possibility of the Habs finishing ahead of the broons as late as last week when the Habs were 3 points up. No matter who the Habs face, no matter what the circumstances, the media outside Quebec will declare their adversary the winner from the get go. That's the only sure thing.
I really thought we would avoid the inevitable meltdown this year. No, they had to wait until the eleventh hour to do it. They need to get their collective shit together and fast. Especially the goalies. GYFHG!
Kate Braless? Beerness? and the panel sure were salivating last night with the Habs slipping to 4th. It's now certain the leaf will leapfrog the Habs for home ice advantage before wiping them out in round 1.
Listening to MacLean and Stellick on Hockey Central, I agree with them, right now, at this moment, Price has gone into a slump plain and simple. The Habs played a good first period against the leaf but Price stunk. I only saw the first period of the phucktard game, but he looked shaky then as well. I think they have to play Price and let the chips fall. He'll either play his way out of it or he won't. It's up to him. The defence has played adequately all season and we know they can score some goals. So let Price play and ride it out. I really don't care who they play in the first round, it's all gravy anyway after the clusterfuck last year.
So is it still relevant that we are 11-1 against the Southeast with 3 of the 5 remaining games against them? I'd say 'Yes'. The only loss is 3-2 against the suddenly hot OV and the Caps. They will go 3-1-1 to finish the season. No worries. 2 weeks from tonight I expect the Habs will be hosting game 2 up a game against whofuckingcares. I still have faith (in) Steve.
heh, tsn squeezes out another polished turd nugget. Their leaf has yet to find a way to make the playoffs and now, according to this CotU mediot station its because 'patience is a virtue'. Sick, sick fucks.

Just tuning in here for a minute, but TB guys saying reffing is biased, that MTL always gets the calls at home. Their proof? Habs are the 3rd most penalized team in the league.
So, to recap, the Habs are favoured by the refs which is shown by the fact that they're one of the most penalized team (their point was if the Habs are penalized so much, why hasn't TB gotten a PP yet).
Well, that was a better effort. Things go so much better when your goalie makes some saves. Thanks Carey, glad to see you're finally over your hangover.
Well, FHF is officially blocked from my work computer. Was able to sneak you guys in through Firefox for a few weeks since the censorship campaign (also no email or youtube). Luckily I still take 2 hour lunch breaks at home.
Well, a win is a win. Hopefully it'll turn things around. Keeps the leaf off our back, 6 points back with 4 games left. Actually, Sens just 1 pt back of leaf (1 game in hand) and Isles just 2 back. Jets 5 pts back with 4 more games! Tee hee!
Habs have very good chance at 2 more Ws, chance at all 4 really. It's a sunny Friday afternoon here and I'm done all my work (hence extended lunch break). Things are looking gooooooooooood.

DeleteHere is a story you dont have to read to know the answer to the question?
ReplyDeleteWhat teams could cause the Montreal Canadiens trouble in the first round?
Answer: any that has players who can raise the puck.
Well, any team the Habs may face in the first round "might" give them problems. There are no sure things for any team. The only team I don't want to face is the leaf. Not because I'm scared of them, I just wouldn't be able to handle the media's treatment of the series no matter the outcome.
