McSplooge splooged all over our new Drew.
Character guy, hard worker, seems to be in typical DGMB style ... or is it that other office guy Rickie Dude? I wonder. We seem to be developing a team of anti-Fuckity-Fuck-Grabiteskie kind of players. I'm liking this every which way.
    Go Habs!

  7. I say, stay the course. Apparently we have lots of high picks in a good draft this year (I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about! Adorable) and we have some good prospects. I guess all the call-ups were to warm up the bodies just in case for the playoffs while not ruining their 'rookie' status later since it's under 5 games (there I go again! I'm all grown up now).

As 29 said, someone to take Cheese's place would be nice unless Bourque is coming back soon (or Cheese ins't too serious).

Really, they're not supposed to be here and there is no pressure to push all the chips in right now. There's not really anyone out there worth going after anyway, except PERHAPS Pommenville, but I wouldn't be ok with selling the future for that. One piece isn't going to bring us to the Cup at this point. Either the Cinderella run continues with everyone stepping up or we're just not there yet. Frankly, for today, no news is good news.

    GO HABS GO!

Give it a week or two and the Leafs will be ahead of the Habs too. Fine by me.
      Oilers past 6 games 4-2-0. Result - jump 12 spots from 24 to 12
Caps past 6 games 4-1-1. Result - drop one spot from 17 to 18

I think we can rule out any sort of sense to these and most other 'rankings' out there.

    4. It must kill them to have the Habs ahead of the Laffs. That is what I focus on.

I loved the 22 Hours skit last night with Thomey (as Don Cherry) giving Majumder (as Nazem Kadri) a full-on tongue kiss. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Can't picture Donald S. Windbag being okay with that one....

The Leaf have 11 points more than The Pliers. When does that ever happen? Gravity is shifting and the forces of nature are seeking balance. We must be prepared. According to the television show we all must bury shipping containers and stock up on beans, bullets and assault weapons. The large breasted women will be the first to go. Stand back!

  38. So, now that all is said and done as the last dozen games get played, I will, like many, give Marc Bergevin, aka DGMB, some kudos for steering our team in the right direction. They've picked up some early unanticipated steam, after a few truly shitty dark-clouded previous seasons. Bergevin is proving to be a true, consummate professional. He built his management team and has, so far, clicked on many levels. Acquisitions, buyouts, waives, farm team rebuild, bringing up the kids for review/play, wholesale coaching upgrade and maybe biggest of all, providing the Canadiens with a classy, intelligent and newly respected face. I doubt our affections will ever wave for the team we love but DGMB's work (big credit to Timmins) has made it fun again. GYFHG!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer5:06 PM

Well said. The Bergevin regime is a breath of fresh air compared to the Iron Curtain/KGB style of Gainey and the Goat. Kinda like Vatican II, although Steve would have issues with that metaphor.

This team, to me, is a huge surprise but a welcome one. I hated hoping they would lose but I knew it would pay off and gCHuk was the reward we are only getting an early glimpse of. I am curbing my enthusiasm for any deep playoff run, I only hope they compete hard and do MB and MT2.0 proud. I believe they will.

I'll be a wee bit disappointed if they get put out the first round, but if it's by Fat Marty, well it wouldn't be completely unexpected. If they could catch the Sid-less Pens they could be looking at a match up with the Rangers or Islanders. That would be more favourable.

The CotU audio daisy chain of acc-bound mediots holding up their recording devices to a TV broadcasting tsn's announcing O'Byrne being dealt to their leaf because there was no other live feed is proof enough that there is blue & white disease amongst the sick fucks. Funny that these are the same two goalies that didn't get traded to the CotU and the same two goalies that had their names dragged through the leaf ringer of shit for the entire 'short' season by the mediots that deep down truly care for the player.

  48. I can't believe the leaf got BOTH Luongo and Kipper! They're unstoppable now....

I mean, sure it happens every single year, but we were guaranteed this year. It was front page news every night!
