The NHL reseeds after the first round. If #1 and #7, or #2 and #8, win, Leafs could play Sens in round 2.

Can't believe these delusional fuckin leaf fans
they already think they are past round 1??

  3. Thank Easter the leaf lost. I wouldn't be able to put up with their fans if they got closer.

    OMFG.
You have my favorite picture posted. My five lovelies.
Reminds me of Happy Gilmores happy place. Everybody just relax, we didn't die. We can beat the leaf or the pliers at any moment in time. I'm sad to say it looks like bye bye Brian. Les Boys will rebound tonite for a rock solid game. I don't care if they win I just wanna see a solid game. No leaks no softies no brain cramps. Just roll four, keep your stick on the ice and Sto lat to me.
    Go Habs!

  6. I'm liking everyone's approach today. A positive attitude and (so far at least) only 1 post in a row by his Steveness. Sometimes less is more... Les boys need to re-group. I'm pretty sure MT2.0 wopuld have ripped most of them a new one so hopefully they get the message. And here's a plan - let's fuckin' ignore the leaf until we have to. If they make the show, let their "fans" believe what they want. We can deal in reality and beat whoever we end up against, as opposed to their imagined run through the playoffs where they beat everyone 4-0 and parade the cup around in perpetuity.

No excuses - Just fuckin' win!

Go Habs Go!! Go Habs GO!! Go Habs Go!!!

    2. Growing up, apart from the Stanley Cup, I always thought the coolest trophy was the Art Ross. Something about a big fuck off silver bowl on a huge hunk of wood and pucks nailed to the side that said "Success" to me. I always hated the look of the Conn Smythe. Steve I'd nominate you for the Lady Byng because, to me, it always looked like it sounds...NTTIAWWT!

I don't care if they win or not, just want a good defensive effort in front of Buddha. Trap, trap and trap some more. I'm hoping for an OT/SO loss at least. An extra point can't hurt.

Home ice advantage is overrated. The Habs have played some of their most wretched games at the Bell Centre. I think they get scared in front of the home fans and lose their cool.

  13. Ever wonder just how big a differance there is between a nano second and a micro second. Its huge. Thats why a half second seperates the stars from the superstars.

  14. We need to go into the playoffs on a winning streak. It might as well start tonight and "Gummy Joe" is out of their lineup.

  15. we always bring up a rookie for the cup run. So who will it be this year? The Count? Lebrow?

This is my first draft for the 10 player 3 max from one team hockey pool. Anyone with a strong opinion of going for two teams that will be in the final, instead of taking top scores from semi finals as I have tried to do?

  28. I do not like to predict the future, it burns out way to many brain cells. The rest of the regular season is going to be a nightmare. The first round of the playoffs we take out the Senators in five games. Then the Broons in four, and the Pens in six, Chicago in seven, and I have blood flowing from my nose dripping onto the keyboar. Relax its a outdoor keyboard because this happens every time I predict the future.

I'm not watching but I'm assuming Pitt is mopping the floor with them.

Didn't this happen in the Centennial year, they played like shit for the last couple of weeks nad then went out in 4 straight to the beaners? Jesus, you're supposed to learn from history, not repeat it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not a mopping but PIT will sweep the shortened season.

Boys are not forechecking, not on the puck first, not making plays that lead to passes that lead to opps that lead to goals.

There's slumps and then there's getting blown out 3 straight games. Yikes.

Looks like the leaf in the first round, starting in toronto. Also looks like gone in 4. I might have to delete my facebook account, phone number, cable package, internet service and mail service if/when that happens.

Sounds like it's the D not the goalies.

Also, they get down early and have to open up, not trap. All bad.

      Delete
    2. No. No. No.

Despite 3 shit games Habs have yet to slip out of position, are playoff-bound and the leaf is below and not in.

      Delete
    3. the M., its both. D mistakes, bad coverage (including weak back-checking by O men) and a few weak goals.

      Delete
  37. And there're the Habs from last season. Why didn't they start the season this way so we could get another top draft pick? Any bets on what the score will be tomorrow night against Tampa? Will that be the game where Stamkos and St. Louis pull ahead to secure the scoring title for the year?

My guess: Stamkos will get the Richard with 45 goals (6 in Montreal tomorrow) and St. Louis will finish with 70 points (1 goal 7 assists in Montreal tomorrow).

Props to you moe for hanging in.

Despite what happens the rest of the way, and I think once they get in a seven game series they will get their shit together and put up a fight. These are not last year's Habs. Also, once they are done, MB and TT have a bagful of picks to build on, plus what's already in the pipeline.

Players I do not expect to see in two years: Gionta, Moen, Markov and Cube. I'd give DD the boot but his heritage may protect him.

    1. Yes, Kent, I'd say it is.

But seriously, yes it is. Three loses is one thing. Three blow outs is something else. We have no goaltending, our D is weak and the guys who should be scoring aren't. Any other team in the league, their position would be safe. But not for the 4th best in the entire NHL unfortunately because the NE is a sonofabitch. Habs will be in 5th by Sunday.

  52. Habs allowed 95 goals in their first 40 games.

They have allowed 18 in their last 3.

That means they have allowed 16% of their GAs this season in these games.

  54. AP/CP story says Habs are 'reeling'. Yes, they have had 3 bad games BUT haven't lost a spot in division/conf standings and those below, who can't catch or pass them despite this sucking are 'hot' and 'assured'. Um, no.

    Still, stop the sucking!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Agree! They need to go on to whole milk.

    2. Actually, broons move ahead of Habs tonight after SO loss. They have the same points, and Habs have more wins but broons have played less games (as always, but this time I won't shit talk it).

And, fuck us, the leaf are right there and are pretty hot. 4 points back. After Saturday, I said Habs just need 3 more wins to keep the leaf at bay. I laughed and laughed. Now I'm not so sure 3 more wins are going to happen.

      Delete
    3. Mid season slump. Need to tell the boys it isn't an 82 game sched. Win or lose, playoffs are happening and fixes are needed. Continuously mixing up lines isn't helping. Time to solidify the system. (yup I typed that).

      Delete
    4. Not to be a Negative Nelly (though I still haven't found the 'right' side of the bed any morning this week), but the Habs had a good run for 19 games at 14-1-4. Other than that, they're 12-11-1 (6-4-1 before and 6-7 since). Some might say that they're a mediocre team that got hot, and they're lucky it's a shortened season.

But not me. I wouldn't never say that. Go Habs Go and whatnot.
