Iron Man 3 was amazing. Watched the 3rd period and Blanche is a keeper. Did you see him giving it to Gui at the end of the game? He wanted no part of Blanche despite being bigger.

I'm still pissed at the dirty blindside hit on LEGO. Two games only? Fuck you Shanny.

    2. I was just about to post that!

When Prust nudges Anderson and he flips over: "I don't care if he sells it or not, it's a penalty by Brandon Prust and it's a needless penalty."

Fine. Cut to 10 seconds later. Erik Condra knocks Gorges into Price. "I don't know if he knocked him into it, it looked like he got tangled up and they're both trying to protect that front of the net."

Okay, so when Prust nudges Anderson, IT'S A PENALTY DAMMIT, but when Condra drags Gorges into Price, well that's just the way it goes. Sounds fair.

  6. By reading everyones post I can tell people are pretty sick of the comments about Diaz. If you look, Eller was expecting the pass, his left shoulder was facing Anderson. And, I'm sure all of you have noticed that the Habs have been making these same "suicide" passes out of the zone all season (it's the reason the run into trouble in their own end at times). Ottawa is a team that thrived on preparation all season and my guess is they had put emphasis on these "suicide" passes that Montreal makes. If it's a "suicide" pass then how did Gryba read the play. It was a reckless hit, and I can guarentee you that it was 100% planned.

    2. Every one does it. It's called the Komisarek Special. If Gryba had a brain, he'd swoop in, steal the puck and snap it top shelf. Which is the usual result of the Komisarek Special...

Instead, he does what he always did: Obliterate.

  8. Love some of the mediots only describing BlanCHe's goal as "unfortunate for Karlsson". Fuck off, it was a beauty.

    Also, for anyone playing along tonight, a recap of the FHF tracks the leaf/mediots excuses;

    1. reimer was screened
    2. hidden injuries
    3. Viirgin "first night" jitters
    4. Too long shifts
    5. they gained playoff experience
    6.

  9. The mediots will say the Sens lost this series (because they will) because they didn't have Spezza. Yeah, well, the Habs were missing an entire first line and dominated.

Speaking of which, Ottawa says they may get Spezza back for G3. Head games. He isn't even skating. And, really, who cares. He's no Crosby and even he couldn't make the Sens the better team in this series.

It is a joy watching PFK out there. Superstar. Can't wait to see him in Sochi with a gold medal around his neck.

I've been hard on Price, but last night is what we expect. It's not even about stealing games (though I feel he could've done that) it's about making the HUGE stops when needed. 2-1 SH, he non-verbally told the boys THIS IS OURS. That is TFS.

Anderson for Best Actor Oscar. Refs for Best Impersonation of Unbiased Zebras Razie.

    GO HABS GO!

Trevor Fediuk @3:49, of course it was an illegal hit. Any fool could see that the fucking guy was defenseless. But according to the Toronto experts it was just a hockey play gone bad. They will defend anybody that isn't a Canadien. If Tinordi had delivered that hit they would have had a rope and a judge waiting for him. I would love to see Boychuk lay the same licking on Kadri then sit back and listen to the shitstorm. One can only hope.

I love BlanCHe. The guy is not just a nutbar out there he has some skills as well. he was a decent scorer in junior, look up his stats. I wasn't aware he was an agitator as well. He and Prust make a good pair.

  11. Re: "The hit"

    Whatever your thoughts, you have to agree that there seems to be two kinds of hockey watchers right now;

    1) Those that want to watch good 'ol game, with skilled players flying down the wing, exciting plays and amazing goalie saves. And yes, a well delivered check and toughness to back it up here and there.

    2) Those that want the Broad Street Bullies x100. Those that take glee in watching an AHL goon standing over an unconscious elite player laying in a pool of his own blood.

#1 are hockey players/fans. #2 are hockey people who were never good enough to compete with those hockey players. It's like capitalism. There is room for greed, even a need for it. But when it takes over it destroys the system. Greed took over Wall St. and Goonery took over hockey because it's the most talked about part, and simple minds think that means it's the best and only needed part.

But people, families, aren't paying $500 to watch a guy taken off on centre ice during the playoffs. They're paying to see him score, to do something exciting. And, yes, to hit. We don't all buy into capitalism to watch the bankers make millions. We buy into it because we all benefit (perhaps) and the thought of someone making millions is exciting. But without the former, the latter is only disgusting and a waste.

Unfortunately, the bankers run the NHL (and the economy, but that's another post). CBC, TSN, and much of the other Canadian media is run by goons from nothing teams who only hate talent. Name one Hab associated with any of them. Or how about a Pen. Or Wing. Nope, it's all broon or leaf, some other 8th line goons to fill it in. Then we're told to trust their opinion. I trust PJstock's opinion as much as Matt Cooke's.

And then it becomes an echo chamber. How many times have I ever heard "suicide pass" before two nights ago? Zero (ok, maybe twice). Suddenly, it's a meme. Everyone parrots it. It rationalizes the whole thing.

TSN/CBC honestly didn't know how to treat the Ferrence elbow. You almost saw their heads collectively explode. Expect more of that, seeing as it's two dirty teams that the Canadian media love. And good. I never want people to get hurt, I really don't. But you reap what you sow. You wan't the rulebook thrown out, it's going to get much dirtier. Hope you have an appetite for elbows. Again, I don't want anyone to get hurt but I have to wonder when Chara tries to kill a leaf (and it'll happen) what the response will be.

    TL;DR

    GO HABS GO

Remember not long ago the three chief analysts for hnic were Cherry, Milbury and Stock. All ex-Bruin goons, well, Cherry was an AHL goon but you know what I mean. How would anybody expect the Montreal Canadiens to ever get a fair shake or anything resembling unbiased opinion? Then they give us bob cold (a leaf licker) and Gary Galley another ex-Bruin to do play by play of the games. No wonder so many anglos fled to RDS even if they couldn't speak or understand a lick of french.

Yup, good ol' CBC loves them some Habs.

    4. Well said, I share your sentiment about banks and any money-ism. Who was it that said "Poverty is the worst form of violence"? It's sick to see people struggling/without food, shelter and the standard of living we'd all expect. I hate seeing sick "hockey plays" on the ice or any sport for that matter. I keep hearing "there's always going to be hitting in hockey, the rules are going to be impossible to change unless you take hitting right out of the game". Well, if you look at when hitting first started, it was to knock someone off the puck, not to take someones head off. Hitting has become the sport and hockey is just what we watch inbetween. Players don't sign up for head injuries, this isn't boxing or MMA.

  17. Okay lets enter the leaf zone preview.
Last time they played the Broons they put thier best playoff making team on the ice. It looked like a jr team. So now they are going to field a bunch of guys who could not make that team. All I got to say is its incredible what the media get to say ever day.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The Lego hit, yes thank someone has a brain they dont want to compare to those guys on the ice. Two games is a signal, but its like saying the penalty for sodomy is no longer life. The kinetic energy of today's hockey would be like trying to explain the higgs boson particle to the people Harper has imported to our country to work for less than minimum wage.

There are consequences to every action. In the classic days when the code was made, a hit that made him wobbly was celebrated. Lets count the times they brought out a stretcher, zero. The game has changed but the code remains the same. Looks like they have a huge IT problem in their infrastructure.

Did I miss our flame war Steve? A short memory can be a great thing.

You know I wouldn't go so far as to say I like anybody on that HNIC crew, and it almost hurts to say, but I actually find Healy the least offensive of the bunch and at times even gives the Habs some credit. But he's still a moron. When he was new, I had great hope for him, but Idiotte Fried man is among the worse of the bunch now. But PJ Suck and McLame are a fucking disgrace. No need to comment on the crotchety ol' racist fuck.
