Circumstances and other viewing necessities made me miss most of the shitshow. Not good. MB still has a lot of work to do.

Habs fell off the horse and faces landed in the manure also. Time to get back up , shake off the shit and get riding again.

Here's hoping the Habs learned a lesson from last night. File it and move on. Not blaming Price for this one at all, except the 2nd goal of the hattie maybe, though screened by Tiny. But MT should have pulled him when the brawl occurred. It was obvious there was no coming back from that shitshow. Why leave him in?

    2. Price will still be in net when dies of old age and they tie his corpse to the goalposts while telling us he's still young and to give him another few years.

PROVE ME WRONG KID. PROVE ME WRONG!

  4. Predicted the Habs would take 1/2 in Kanata, still likely. Habs have been the better team for the majority of this series and half our guys have either been injured or invisible. Imagine if just a couple of our 'elite' players actually show up next game.

    WOW.
Was watching the Amazing Race, flicking back and forth and every with flick things got worse. Happy I didn't sit down for an evening of entertainment. The weaknesses in this team are clear, but I thought we at least had some character. Can somebody tell me just what DDD is doing? What Patches is doing? I think it's time they were called out. I think it's sad that the only Hab to crash the net is a smurf rookie. Sorry maybe RBQ was there once or twice. But really. Just what the fuck is Patches, our big power forward doing???

MB has to complete phase 2 of his restructuring this summer. Forget about this year , this team is NOT playoff built.

A commenter over at HI/O figured it out perfectly. The Canadiens do not match up to Ottawa physically so why try to play that type of game? Let Ottawa try to run them, take whatever penalties you can get and try to make them pay on the PP. Play the trap if you have to. Try to insulate Price as best as you can 'cause if there's an opening they'll score. Every time. They are getting sucked into playing the way MacLean wants them to. They'll lose.

I'm taking a hockey break tonight, I've no desire to watch leaftv.

  10. Interesting note, the three players who have lost teeth in each game this series (excluding Lego, of course) have gotten the 1st star in that game. I'd hate to lose that smile, but I hope PK is all gums by June.

  11. We came into this season expecting the worst and we've been treated to some great hockey. I still expect the Habs to pull through in this series, but we have to keep perspective. If the worst happens, the important thing is for MB to use the experience to better this team for next year. The postseasons has allowed us, and hopefully management, to assess who is a leader and contributor when it counts, and who is a passenger. It's also great that the young guys got some playoff experience.

The best thing for the Habs to do on Tuesday is to get back to their game. One would hope the refs will do a better job of trying to control the idiocy, so let the Sens try to start shit again and make them pay. That's a big hope going on how the refs have treated the rough stuff so far, but I'm sure the league has made some phone calls to sort it out. Don't go after Gryba, don't let that talentless goon Chris Neil dictate the game. The Habs are more skilled, play a skill game and the results will follow.

Stay Classy Habs fans. Best Sens Playoff victory I have ever seen.

I hope TFS has his golf clubs shined up and his rodeo boots ready to go!

Can't wait for Tuesday! Oh BTW - If the NHL doesn't give Gallagher one game for the flying elbow .... we'll know how slanted things really are at head office.

I wasn't aware the Senators had become a team of headhunters. So regarding Gallagher if you take enough cheapshots that the refs turn a blind eye to, I guess you're left to take matters into your own hands.

Maybe your feed of the game in CHvision is a different one that the rest of the world is privi to seeing.

TheHabs are a soft team and the Sens are exposing them for what they are. Your TFS hans't shown up ... and until he does it will be a quick series.

Like it or not the SENS own the hab right now.

11 goals in 3 games, for a team that 'didn't have any offensive abilities' says one of two things ....

      A) either the critics were throughly wrong and the Sens are a high powered scoring machine or
      B) the CH's defensive + goaltending is absolutely horrific.

Take your pick. I'm OK with either of your answers.

      GSG!

      Delete
    4. the Maritimer1:03 PM

I'll take B). That's probably the most accurate description. And they are a soft team that can be intimidated. Your powerhouse Senators will be whistling a different tune in the next round especially if they run into the feared leaf. Alfie will be soiling his undies. In all likelihood though, the Penguins will make short work of the Senaturds.

    10. Nothing funny about seeing a farce of hockey game. Both teams have guys with more talent than this. There is no need for the goonish behavior just as there is little class in gloating over it. Just play the game. Can't take a hit? Don't stick someone to the face. Ref doesn't call a play? Doesn't mean you have free license. These guys as supposed to be the best of the best. Real fans celebrate the success, mourn the defeat, and acknowledge superior gamesmanship. Not goonmanship. Sens have a lot going for them; there is a reason they are in the PO and bumped up to 7th. That being said, win by merit, not by parlor tricks, pissing contests, or playground rules. Jimmy, your conversation and input is welcome if you can contribute intelligently.

    11. Jimmy The Saint3:27 PM

Headhunter - well said. I couldn't agree more. But as we all know it takes two to tango and if the officiating is going to allow all the 'stick work' to ensue, then we'll see another out of hand game.

Like it or not, this is series has become the marquee series of round 1 and it's up to the NHL to decided how it wants this series played out.

    12. Have to agree with Moeman. This is a MTL blog first and foremost even though it is probably one of the more open-minded ones. There is a lot to be learned through open exchange with opposition fans if that conversation is above trolling and taunting. Cornelius comes to mind in that regard. Give us your two cents Jimmy, we will listen. Always good to see how someone else saw the game. As a fan, you surely understand that lemon in the wound on top of the salt doesn't sit well. Thank Moe for steering this.

This is why I didn't reply directly to little jimmy's initial post. Shouldn't feed the trolls.
Anyway, we all know if the Habs play their style of game and leave the other crap to the Sens, they can win. If not, they have no hope. So, here's hoping they know how to play within their limits.

  17. Hey guys and gals...I feel a little bit bad about things. I came in late, pissed up and foul mouthed, then left early - my bad. My play was like the Habs - careless, self centered and selfish. It won't happen again...well maybe not the foul mouthed part but the selfish stuff.

Anyway you shake it - I agree with Moeman's call - "Cut that shit out!" Play Habs Hockey and leave fuckin morons like Neil to play with himself.

    Just fucking Win!!

    Go Habs Go!!

  18. Lots of parts in play. We got a good team here. A tinker here a goon there and we are off to the races. The guy who scored a hatrick is the definition of a smurf. Last night our D was exposed. Last night the G Force was exposed. Last night DDD was exposed. We have all been caught in a bad spot on video. Tuesday is the redemption Habs 2013 game.
Anderson if a great goalie, your not going to beat him easy. TFS is a great goalie in the making, he is going to make mistakes, but I am on the TFS side of things. You build your team around your goalie, and if your goalie is going to let in on soft one a game, but stop five other ones, than deal with it.

  24. The best part of the broons owning the leaf is how leaf fans (incl. the media) became so cocky and patronizing after their win. After last night I couldn't keep track of all my leaf lover friends explaining to me how playoff hockey is won. They win one game in a decade and think they know everything. I wish I could be there with them watching their tears tonight. For some reason, they're uncharacteristically silent on social media right now.

So the asshole says " that's how you handle you're differences, not like what we saw last night". He's talking about Patches and Subban. There really is no limit to their hate. We need to complain in droves to HNIC. In the middle of a playoff game betwen the Bruins and leaf game they had to take a shot at the Habs. Not acceptable.
