Don't recommend Fibe yet, it 's great when it works but it goes up and down like a yo-yo. I"ll need to re-instate the satellite programming for the playoffs and I want Bell to pay for it.
Fuck this irksome team. GarbageGryba. No excuse. That was Raffi Torres on Hossa-ish. Take out our best center? Sharpen the skates, boys. YES I WENT THERE. Fuck 'em.
It disappeared but IMHO the Lego hit was not that dirty. He was in the train tracks and got run over. Get well soon Lego, get some Wolverine blood transfusion from Patches.
2-1, ice tilted towards Sens net. Soft goal, totally changes momentum. Habs run out of gas. Hard to keep intensity level up when you're scared of the puck getting anywhere near your net. A change is needed, for the benefit of everyone.
I like Budda but he is not going to do a Halak. You gotta go back one more time with TFS. If he can get back to one soft goal a game we might have a chance.
The guy on the late show on 690 just said that every Hab forward played badly except G-kid. They got 50 shots. This is what drives me crazy. In an effort to protect Price, people will start shit talking the guys who actually did their job.
I'm rooting just as hard for Price to rebound. But history is against us, let's not start rewriting it.
I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Every time the opposition winds up for a shot at the blue line I pray that either:
1. They miss. 2. Somebody blocks it.
Because TheFuckingSieve either doesn't see it coming or it goes between his legs. Maybe they can't beat Ottawa with Budaj in goal but I sure would feel they had a better chance. Anderson is 10 times better than Price.
On another note, I came to the conclusion last night that "player safety" is a farce in the NHL. OK, Diaz fed Lego a suicide pass (I always told my son to ignore those when he played youth hockey) but really, does the hitter HAVE to take a run at a vulnerable player like that? Gryba knew Eller was set up for exactly that type of hit. You can't ease up just a little so you don't take the guy's head off? The D can turn to follow the pass receiver and still take him off the puck without the kill shot. It's just total bullshit. I'll bet Lego is concussed and done for the playoffs.
With all this blaming of Diaz, do we believe that Gryba would have not hit Lego had he let the puck go by? It was a bang bang play, Gryba was already on his way to deliver the hit.
Having said that, I'm not completely sure that it deserves a suspension UNDER THE OLD RULES. However, if the NHL is taking headshots seriously (and we all know how consistent they are) then they have to send a small message. One game, make the next guy think before he acts. Of course the TSN panels say, "No body in hockey thinks it should be a suspension!" Right, your desk of 3 leaf/broon lovers and Hab haters are 'all of hockey'. Something tells me if Lego's jersey was blue and white or black and gold they'd be calling for Gryba's head.
I know I've been hard on him (as much as someone with a real job can be hard on an under-performing millionaire). It's because his reputation has preceded him. Everyone seems to have ordained him an elite goaltender in the NHL, but for the life of me I don't know why. Like I always say, maybe he'll be great one day but he simply hasn't proven that yet and I'm foremost a Habs fan. I don't want to see the chances of this club destroyed by what could be in 5 years.
He's won one playoff round (in 7 games as the #1 seed). I thought about it long and hard today and I honestly couldn't think of any games he stole for this team this season. He had the 45th best save % (or thereabouts). I don't hate him, I don't want him off the team immediately, and I don't blame him for every problem the Habs have had over the last 5 years.
Today on the postgame show someone asked if they could start Budaj any game this series if need be. The answer was no, because that would hurt Price's confidence too much. That is what I hate. Like one of my spoiled brat students, I don't hate the kid. I hate the adults in his life that allow him to act that way and get away with it.
GO HABS GO, and I do sincerely hope for a rebound game.
It seems to me that the concept for winning in the NHL now is all about delivering the "kill shot" on somebody. Montreal was not the same team after that hit on Lego. Way to go Gary, your product is right up there with WWE and roller derby.
Its sicking, the whole Hockey Media has lined up with hockey play, should not even have been a penalty. Its sick how the media can line up and steamroll common sense.
Give 'em hell. For Lego.
ReplyDeleteGet Well LEGO!
ReplyDelete23 shots in the period. did I hear that right? jebus
ReplyDeleteoh fuck you. that should have been delay of game
ReplyDeleteFuck yes. CASH IT
ReplyDeleteCash this fucking 5on3!
ReplyDeleteTHE TIME IS NOW!
ReplyDeletesigh. we needed some insurance
ReplyDeleteToo much passing = opportunity wasted. Oh well.
ReplyDelete27 shots in the period. my goodness
ReplyDeleteSomeone better get me an update on Eller. Get on it, Marc Denis.
ReplyDeleteShots were 27-7. Yikes.
That period was men vs boys.
ReplyDeleteI just hope the lack of a goal on the 5on3 doesn't bite them in the ass.
Don't recommend Fibe yet, it 's great when it works but it goes up and down like a yo-yo. I"ll need to re-instate the satellite programming for the playoffs and I want Bell to pay for it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. They are HORRIBLE when it comes to admitting/paying for their mistakes/issues.
DeleteI still won't switch to Videotron though.
Fuck this irksome team. GarbageGryba. No excuse. That was Raffi Torres on Hossa-ish. Take out our best center? Sharpen the skates, boys. YES I WENT THERE. Fuck 'em.
ReplyDeleteHabs got 7 more shots in that period than the leaf got in their whole game.
ReplyDeletePrice has to shut the door.
ReplyDeletebjstuck is seriously the biggest asshole on hockey tv panels. Sickening fuck.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed Lego. They're all blaming Diaz. He's a rooke for Christ sake. PJ stock is such an arse, so anti-Habs. It's a disgrace.
ReplyDeleteTotal dominance by the Habs. Don't take your foot off the gas boys and bury these fuckers. Get well LEGO. I need you back in my pool.
ReplyDeleteThe CBC panel is fucked Are you serious? They haven't heard of targeting the head
ReplyDeleteSope, they're anti-Hab. It's that simple.
DeleteThey flipped out last night on the ference hit. Go figure.
DeleteTrue dat guys
Deletefuckup ference gets middle fingered for one game.
ReplyDeleteIt disappeared but IMHO the Lego hit was not that dirty. He was in the train tracks and got run over. Get well soon Lego, get some Wolverine blood transfusion from Patches.
ReplyDeleteIf Ference gets a game for hitting a leaf.... they seemed to remember the targeting the head rule....
ReplyDeleteHANG ON BOYS
ReplyDeleteCRAP CRAP CRAP
ReplyDeleteAck
ReplyDeleteDefinitely biting them in the ass.
ReplyDeleteBastards
ReplyDeleteOh God.
ReplyDeletegotta stop that carey. ugh
ReplyDeleteWe certainly don't have a Craig Anderson in net.
ReplyDeletePrice is so inconsistent it drives me nuts.
ReplyDeletePrice. Fuck.
ReplyDelete45-20
ReplyDeletekill me
ReplyDeleteTabernac
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna be sick.
ReplyDeleteat least it was a perfect shot
ReplyDeleteThat was embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteFucking Price. You suck.
ReplyDeleteEvery Hab that was on the ice for that goal shouldn't see any more ice time this game. Including Price.
ReplyDeletedid you see the replay, Price had no chance on that
DeleteHe never does.
DeleteGET ONE BACK BOYS Go You Fucking Habs GO
ReplyDeleteThis sucks. The boys worked so hard and two shit soft goals could bury them.
ReplyDeleteGO Habs Go, Go Habs GO GO Habs Go, Go Habs GO GO Habs Go, Go Habs GO GO Habs Go, Go Habs GO
ReplyDeleteI knew when those idiots started the Ole chant things were going to go south. Morons, do they never learn?
ReplyDeletebullshit
ReplyDeleteIf a goal is refused because of interference, why no penalty?
ReplyDeleteTwo words. Flip. Flop.
ReplyDeleteSo Anderson grabs Prusty's stick, flops around to try to get a call and then the goal is disallowed? Sounds about right.
ReplyDeleteugh. game over
ReplyDeleteOof
ReplyDeleteOh my God
ReplyDeleteOH GOD NO NOT GUI.
ReplyDeleteWhat a disaster.
gloved
ReplyDeleteCalling it a disappointment would be an understatement.
ReplyDeleteSide note: my iPhone autocorrected "calling" to "caking".
I could sure use a piece of cake the size of my head right now.
time out time out then score two
ReplyDeleteThey already took that before the big 5 min penalty/5-on-3 waste of time.
DeleteThat's all I need to see. If Therrien wants to win this series he better put Budaj in. Price is fucking useless.
ReplyDelete+a million. Or 6.5 million for the next five years.
DeleteShots 50-26
ReplyDeleteGoals 2-4
let alone dangerous shots, we have had way more
DeleteNow I know how the Caps felt three years ago.
ReplyDeleteCarey F. Price and not in a good way. I love everyone with rhe CH but he really needs to prove himself and win this series.
ReplyDeleteBe well Lego, see you next year I hope
ReplyDeletePrice finally did something to help the team. He left the ice.
ReplyDeleteUnless TFS can find something better we are not only fucked this year, we are fucked for any cup dreams. Another Gainey landmine?
ReplyDeleteafter a suitable period of mourning for Lego, I a going with a gCHuck.
DeleteLEGO pic, warning, not good;
ReplyDeletehttp://beta.images.theglobeandmail.com/9ab/sports/hockey/article11693063.ece/ALTERNATES/w620/GMH110_HKN_Senators_Canadiens_20130502.JPG
Ok, that looks terrible but it also looks like it could *just* be a broken nose. That's the best case scenario right now.
Deleteouch, that looks season ending.
DeleteOrangeman, good thing you do not work triage in a disaster area,

DeleteWell, I guess they just have to decide how many seasons and playoff series they want to waste waiting for a miracle to happen.
DeleteListening to post game on radio. They bring up Ryder. I totally forgot he was on the team. I don't think I heard his name the entire game.
ReplyDeletePositive Waves people. Anderson won the game, period. We owned them. No need to panic.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it when we can't find a pass out of the zone, the puck goes in the net?
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Dazling will have to support Lego for the rest of his life now?
ReplyDeleteOne bad pass and life changes.
I just had an original thought a height and weight restriction for the NHL. IF Gyro is not seven feet tall four hundred pounds this does not happen.
ReplyDeleteTFS is the highest paid cocktease in the world. Come on Carey put it all together Friday night.
ReplyDeleteThe guy on the late show on 690 just said that every Hab forward played badly except G-kid. They got 50 shots. This is what drives me crazy. In an effort to protect Price, people will start shit talking the guys who actually did their job.
