    Shots were 27-7. Yikes.

  10. That period was men vs boys.

I just hope the lack of a goal on the 5on3 doesn't bite them in the ass.

  11. Don't recommend Fibe yet, it 's great when it works but it goes up and down like a yo-yo. I"ll need to re-instate the satellite programming for the playoffs and I want Bell to pay for it.

    1. Good luck. They are HORRIBLE when it comes to admitting/paying for their mistakes/issues.

I still won't switch to Videotron though.

  20. It disappeared but IMHO the Lego hit was not that dirty. He was in the train tracks and got run over. Get well soon Lego, get some Wolverine blood transfusion from Patches.

  21. If Ference gets a game for hitting a leaf.... they seemed to remember the targeting the head rule....

  35. I knew when those idiots started the Ole chant things were going to go south. Morons, do they never learn?

  36. If a goal is refused because of interference, why no penalty?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Two words. Flip. Flop.

    ReplyDelete
  38. So Anderson grabs Prusty's stick, flops around to try to get a call and then the goal is disallowed? Sounds about right.

    ReplyDelete
  39. OH GOD NO NOT GUI.

    What a disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Calling it a disappointment would be an understatement.

Side note: my iPhone autocorrected "calling" to "caking".

I could sure use a piece of cake the size of my head right now.

  46. Be well Lego, see you next year I hope

    ReplyDelete
  47. Price finally did something to help the team. He left the ice.

    3. Orangeman, good thing you do not work triage in a disaster area,

  50. 2-1, ice tilted towards Sens net. Soft goal, totally changes momentum. Habs run out of gas. Hard to keep intensity level up when you're scared of the puck getting anywhere near your net. A change is needed, for the benefit of everyone.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I like Budda but he is not going to do a Halak. You gotta go back one more time with TFS. If he can get back to one soft goal a game we might have a chance.

    2. Well, I guess they just have to decide how many seasons and playoff series they want to waste waiting for a miracle to happen.

  51. Listening to post game on radio. They bring up Ryder. I totally forgot he was on the team. I don't think I heard his name the entire game.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Positive Waves people. Anderson won the game, period. We owned them. No need to panic.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Why is it when we can't find a pass out of the zone, the puck goes in the net?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I wonder if Dazling will have to support Lego for the rest of his life now?
One bad pass and life changes.

  55. I just had an original thought a height and weight restriction for the NHL. IF Gyro is not seven feet tall four hundred pounds this does not happen.

    ReplyDelete
  56. TFS is the highest paid cocktease in the world. Come on Carey put it all together Friday night.

  57. The guy on the late show on 690 just said that every Hab forward played badly except G-kid. They got 50 shots. This is what drives me crazy. In an effort to protect Price, people will start shit talking the guys who actually did their job.

I'm rooting just as hard for Price to rebound. But history is against us, let's not start rewriting it.

  58. the Maritimer7:09 AM

I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Every time the opposition winds up for a shot at the blue line I pray that either:

    1. They miss.
    2. Somebody blocks it.

Because TheFuckingSieve either doesn't see it coming or it goes between his legs. Maybe they can't beat Ottawa with Budaj in goal but I sure would feel they had a better chance. Anderson is 10 times better than Price.

On another note, I came to the conclusion last night that "player safety" is a farce in the NHL. OK, Diaz fed Lego a suicide pass (I always told my son to ignore those when he played youth hockey) but really, does the hitter HAVE to take a run at a vulnerable player like that? Gryba knew Eller was set up for exactly that type of hit. You can't ease up just a little so you don't take the guy's head off? The D can turn to follow the pass receiver and still take him off the puck without the kill shot. It's just total bullshit. I'll bet Lego is concussed and done for the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. With all this blaming of Diaz, do we believe that Gryba would have not hit Lego had he let the puck go by? It was a bang bang play, Gryba was already on his way to deliver the hit.

Having said that, I'm not completely sure that it deserves a suspension UNDER THE OLD RULES. However, if the NHL is taking headshots seriously (and we all know how consistent they are) then they have to send a small message. One game, make the next guy think before he acts. Of course the TSN panels say, "No body in hockey thinks it should be a suspension!" Right, your desk of 3 leaf/broon lovers and Hab haters are 'all of hockey'. Something tells me if Lego's jersey was blue and white or black and gold they'd be calling for Gryba's head.

    2. And Re: Price.

I know I've been hard on him (as much as someone with a real job can be hard on an under-performing millionaire). It's because his reputation has preceded him. Everyone seems to have ordained him an elite goaltender in the NHL, but for the life of me I don't know why. Like I always say, maybe he'll be great one day but he simply hasn't proven that yet and I'm foremost a Habs fan. I don't want to see the chances of this club destroyed by what could be in 5 years.

He's won one playoff round (in 7 games as the #1 seed). I thought about it long and hard today and I honestly couldn't think of any games he stole for this team this season. He had the 45th best save % (or thereabouts). I don't hate him, I don't want him off the team immediately, and I don't blame him for every problem the Habs have had over the last 5 years.

Today on the postgame show someone asked if they could start Budaj any game this series if need be. The answer was no, because that would hurt Price's confidence too much. That is what I hate. Like one of my spoiled brat students, I don't hate the kid. I hate the adults in his life that allow him to act that way and get away with it.

GO HABS GO, and I do sincerely hope for a rebound game.

It seems to me that the concept for winning in the NHL now is all about delivering the "kill shot" on somebody. Montreal was not the same team after that hit on Lego. Way to go Gary, your product is right up there with WWE and roller derby.

  60. Its sicking, the whole Hockey Media has lined up with hockey play, should not even have been a penalty. Its sick how the media can line up and steamroll common sense.
