Tiger's fading fast at the U.S. Open. They are barely showing him anymore. Almost as much fun watching him lose as the leaf or broons. Go Phil!

    Go Hawks!

      Go Phil!!

Tiger is a no class entitled punk. Poor etiquette shown on the golf course. Mickleson never gets angry and always maintains his cool.

Thanks for joining in 29, it was lonesome here.

Rats! Huberdeau wins the Calder trophy as top rookie over Kid G. Ken Dryden remains the last Hab to win it. 41 years ago.

C'mon PK, throw us a bone and win the Norris.

Yay! PK wins the Norris! Can't trade him now Steve.

I can't begrudge Huberdeau the Calder. Kid G has a lot of heart and goes to the net as good as anyone. Huberdeau reeks of skill and can play all situations. I know 'cause I watched him play here for 3 years and you cold tell he was special. Best shootout guy I've ever seen. They say the puck follows certain players around but what actually happens is those players know where the puck will be and that's where they go. Huberdeau is one of them.

Congrats to PK on the winning the Norris a huge accomplishment.

Fuck off Tiger. Go sulk somewhere.

  13. Wow! PFK wins the Norris - I am somewhat in shock but couldn't be happier. Way to go my son! Kid G would have looked good holding the Calder but never mind. The Habs have some more good 'uns coming up so hopefully they get a shot.

On the golf front - it was good to see Mike Weir make the cut. I'm sure he could use the cash!

    Norris Trophy

To the defenceman demonstrating the greatest all-around ability in the position went to the Montreal Canadiens’ P.K. Subban in a narrow victory over the Minnesota Wild’s Ryan Suter. Only 33 voting points separated the two players. Subban had 66 first-place votes; Suter 65, while Pittsburgh’s Kris Letang finished third and had 31 first-place votes.

    Vezina Trophy

To the goalkeeper adjusted to be best at his position went to the Columbus Blue Jackets’ Sergei Bobrovsky. The award is selected by the 30 NHL GMs, and Bobrovsky received 17 first-place votes. Henrik Lundqvist finished second with three first-place votes and 12 seconds, while Antti Niemi had six first-place votes, but finished third overall.

    Calder Trophy

To the player adjudged most proficient in his first year of competition in the NHL went to the Florida Panthers Jonathan Huberdeau, in a close vote over the Montreal Canadiens’ Brendan Gallagher. Huberdeau and Gallagher each received 54 first-place votes among the 179 ballots cast, with Huberdeau picking up slightly more support further down the ballot. Points are allocated on a 10-7-5-3-1 basis for first through fifth.

Man, for a lockout shortened season this one seems interminably long. By the time the NHL playoffs are finished the KHL and European leagues will be starting up. I really don't give a fiddler's fuck about Boston and Chicago, tried watching Saturday night gave up and went to bed. Get this over with and bring on the Draft and all the off season funny business.

Speaking of off season - read a rumour today that Big Buf out in the 'Peg is up to 302lbs. I'd like to see MB acquire him, that would make the Habs a lot bigger in a hurry. Park his ass if front of the opposition's net on the PP and fire away from the point. He and PFK would make a great D tandem as well. Size and speed galore.

Has DD been traded yet? As long as he is center on a top line, the Habs are the laughing stock of the league. Put gChuk and Eller as the top 2 centers and maybe they'll get some respect.

Swiss banks, watches and chocolate are all good. Some of their hockey players aren't bad either. I always liked Streit and he was another Gainey error. Just like Saku.

    2. Agree the M. but I think, at the time, he was asking for too much coin.

      Delete
    3. the Maritimer8:57 PM

Actually moe, I think Streit would have taken a lot less than he got in free agency from the Islanders. He was looking for term not big money. Seems to me I remember reading that somewhere.

  24. I gotta say, this is the least interested I have been in the Stanley Cup final ever. The question is, and this is a very huge call, is there something structurally wrong with me or structurally wrong with hockey. A vote for both is making a moot point.

I feel the same way Steve. I haven't watched a Final in years. I chalk it up to getting older and not being able to stay up late anymore and just no interest in Buttman's product anymore. Plus the season is just too bloody long. Hockey in June just doesn't work for me anymore.

  25. Caught PFK's acceptance speeCH, then turned it off. I like CHI as a team but can't stand to watch the broons, unless it is our Habs playing. NHL HQ, reffing, announcers and broadcasters have seriously fucked up the game we enjoy. Sick fucks.

That's probably the biggest reason for me as well. Can't stand watching Boston unless the Habs are putting it to them. Can't stand listening to mclame and the rest of those dickwads laying praise on those fucks. Jacob's has it all rigged in his favour. It's all just a big fucking sham.

  26. Hey, NHL HQ, if soccer (football) can call itself The Beautiful Game, can't you Jacobs-sucking-fuckwads even try to get the rights to The Ugly Game? Just put bettman's ugly fuckface on it.

      Good move.

If Tampa buys out Vinnie, I say offer him DD's job as the No.1 center for the next couple years until Lego or gCHuk is ready. He'd be a huge upgrade, DD can go play in Switzerland.

  31. I have, I mean it might happen cause I am not DGMB really. Its 7 toed Count to Calary for number six and a twist of first rounders. You read it here first so just consider yourself part of the Upsteam Color culture. Readers of the I M Banks will know exactly what I am talking about. Its not tribal, its not sectarian its a culture bias, and yes my culture is superior to yours. However I should not and will not be the judge of that.
And just because your culture was not listed as a top ten pick, does not mean situation awareness will not propel your dilettantes into the top slot. For example if their is a Zombie Apocalypse, culture is going to flip big time.
Also I as the leading man of my own culture, would never say I would not bend down or a reverse position to any culture that was good. Its not all about being superior and producing a better GDP. Its really about being sustainable in you own envelope.

    2. I am past railing against Buttman and the NASCAR culture he mothers. Everyone can see for themselves how destructive it is. You want a five man cage match, well who is going to watch that in the long term Buttman? The WWF or whatever rose and fell, and fell and fell, they exceeded their envelope. Hockey has a huge envelope but you choose to make it smaller. No short jokes here. I just hope the zombies wake up and devour this sorry chapter in hockey.

  32. I have made many big decisions. Thats from Heroin by Lou Reed for those of you who are not curious on the Google. I declare my candidacy for Prime Minister of Canada here and now. I am not going to weasel around with the conditions. I will be totally upfront.
First I will run under the name Jones Spaceman (google it you lazy kids)
Second I will run under the Pirate Party Banner, now I differ somewhat in that I think Harper should walk the plank if I am elected.
Third, I need at least five million dollars in donations, and I will not accept any donation over $100. Any donations over $100 will go to sustainable housing for our First Nations citizens.
Thats my platform, I am a Pirate, I am cheap, and I think we owe something to the people we stole this land from.
