  1. Excellent SF. Alex Colville was my favourite painter of all. I would, however, respectfully suggest that "Refrigerator 1977" would best fit the criteria of SF. It has nuditiy, innuendo AND cats!

    Cheers.

    1. One of my fave Canadian artists too. Agreed on the fridge painting but the SF is about subtle nudity that lets the mind wander. Which Colville's body of work does.

    2. Yeah, you are correct that "Frig 77" is not subtle. :o)

    I like the nude blonde stretched out by the pool and the Kate painted on stuff is excellent. Cooler with some rain showers here in NB today. More scorchers coming up for the weekend however. A few more weeks of this heat and I will be looking forward to October's coolness.

    I see MAB has taken his PP talents to Switzerland.

    New NHL schedule released. Habs open at home against the wretched leaf and the phucktards then go on a western Canada swing for four games. Maybe a side trip to go bowling?

      Distance to the Atlantic Ocean from each team's home arena, by division

      "Atlantic" Division:

      There should be a Bankrupt Division;

      DET - financially
      TOR - stanleycuply
      PHO - geographically
      BOS - ethically
      FLA - morally
      NAS - musically (mostly)

  15. Olympics give TFS needed boost. If he wants to go to Soshi, he will have to play well the first half. If he cant do that, I makes it easier for everyone. Cant wait to see PFK motor on the big ice.

      The so-called TFS won't help Canada at Sochi. Check out this list:

      Russia = Bob
      USA = Quick
      Sweden = King Henrik
      Finland = Rask
      Czech = ?
      Slovakia = Jaro

      I'll bet Bernier moves ahead of Price. It'll probably be Lu and Crawford as the top 2. Maybe even Mike Smith.

    2. I am hoping TFS makes the move we have been waiting for. No not to Edmonton, not letting in a softy every 60 min.

      To be all serious and whatnot, Steve is correct - the first half of this season will be very telling about Carey's future as a NHL goaltender. If he can't bring it game after game with an Olympic spot on the line, well let's go Fucale.

      And if the NHL goaltender thing doesn't work out, he can always be a goatlender in Switzerland.

    4. As usual steve speaks the truth

      PFK on the big ice (and with a coach who will let him skate) should really be something

    moe probably knows more about this than I do; I read a comment yesterday how the powers that were at CBC and TSN strived to make the Expos irrelevant in the 80's and 90's until they eventually disappeared from the Canadian landscape. It looks good on the Blow Jays to lose continually and be out of it before the end of July so their fans have to watch two months of games that mean nothing. Loserville indeed.

    Two things I hope happen: the return of the Montreal Expos and the departure of used car salesman Bud Selig. I would consider watching baseball again if those events were to occur.

      Agreed the M. +1 on all accounts.

    2. Loved the 'Spos but didn't really pay attention to the BJ bias back then. 'Spos deserved better. Surprised Jack Todd is the only one that still rips the Loria thieves. Selig is a Jacobs with worse hair.

      Miss seeing Tim Raines run, The Hawk rip one in from the field, Cromartie's smile, The Kid's strength at the plate and a steamed Lesters.

      Hey moe, to me, Hogtown couldn't stand to see the Montreal Expos succeed while the "semeny" BJ's floundered. The conspiracy theory part of me says the tv industry based there wanted the GTA to be the center of the Canadian baseball universe. Kinda like that other bunch of losers. Selig, Loria and Samson along with Claude Brochu with the blessings of Ted Rogers killed my beloved team and my desire to ever watch baseball again. I tried to follow the Yankees but it just wasn't the same. The Expos were always a small budget team that seemed to be able to find talent and nurture it to the major league level on a shoestring. They never won anything but they sure tried their damnedest especially the Felipe Alou led teams.

      I sure did love those teams of the late 70's and early 80's led by homegrown stars like Kid Carter, Larry Parrish, Andre Dawson, Warren Cromartie and Ellis Valentine. You would see them on Saturday nights in the summer on CBC and I would listen to games on the radio on a local FM channel on week nights, broadcast by the great Dave Van Horne and Duke Snyder. They were eventually relegated to SRC by those Toronto fuckers and then basically disappeared from tv altogether.

      When the 'Spos left for Washington I vowed to never spend another penny on anything baseball related, a vow I have kept to this day.

      Besides the players named above two of my all-time favourite players were Larry Walker and Vladimir Guerrero, along with Tim Raines as you said. Honourable mention goes to the Spaceman, Bill Lee, who may still be throwing somewhere to this day.

      I hope Jack Todd is right and that someday maybe Geoff Molson could lead a conglomerate of local businessmen along with Warren Cromartie to have a proper baseball stadium built somewhere in the downtown area for a new Montreal Expos team with a statue of Gary Carter and maybe Jackie Robinson at the entrance. Hey, I can dream can't I?

    4. Extremely well said. I agree 100% and would've written the same word for word. I never once gave a shit about the jays and the overhype is some sweet schadenfreude for the mediots. They, the mediots prove once again that Toronto is defined by nothing more than ignorance and arrogance regardless the sport. Sick fucks.

      When they made that big trade with the Loria owned Marlins (I've heard they hate him there as well) Sportsnet pumped them (bj's) so hard, made it seem they were going to finally compete with the Yanks and BoSox....they are instead one of the worst teams in the AL. Love it they fell on their faces again. As you said, they, along with the leaf and the toothless raptors and even worse soccer team continue to define Toronto for what it is on the sporting landscape: a complete and utter failure. I'd give props to the Argonauts but nobody in Toronto gives a fuck about the CFL. They cheer for the Buffalo Bills....another joke of a team!

    Well it's the biannual CFL/Stadium debate and discussion time in Halifax. Always a good time waster. The mayor is all for it, and that means exactly nothing, but good to hear all the bitchin' on both sides of the coin. Honestly I don't follow the CFL, but had we a franchise, I'd support it.

    Congrats to PK & Carey, gCHuk & Patches, Vodkov and (Y) on their respective Olympic invites. I'm sure Pleks will follow. Probably Swiss Miss 2.0. No Denmark = no Lego. Oh, and maybe Slovakia will make a Budaj call?
