It's only a matter of time before robots replace us for everything we do.

Great SF moe, as usual. Regarding tans, I urge all FHF'ers to wear sunscreen when doing so. I'm going to get a spot taken off my right shoulder on Monday, old damage done when I was young and we didn't know any better. I don't go shirtless anymore 'cause nobody would want to see this old carcass anyway.

Not much hockey talk but I'm getting lots of golf in in the meantime.

First time I've seen Steve post in a while, I thought CSIS had finally caught up to him.

I am of Celtic descent. I don't tan. I burn (if I forget to lather), peel and back to white. But I rarely burn. Not worth it.

Enjoy the links. My golf budget took a hit this year, so will only get out a few times. 4 more years til no more mortgage and kids out of university. Then, FORE! And finally a trip to the Bell Centre! We should be cup ready by then too with Fucale in net (that's just for you the M ;-)

I tan really well, I'm of English descent but have some French on my mother's side. When I was young I'd burn, peel and turn brown. However, that caught up to me and I had a melanoma removed 14 years ago. Caught it early and had no problems. I went back to the specialist last week who fixed me up back then and he found a spot he didn't like so as a precaution is going to remove it.

I've played 32 rounds so far this year.

I don't know when my next trip to the Bell Centre will occur. More likely the next time I see the Habs play live will be in Florida at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise. My sister lives about twenty minutes away and it's easy to get tickets.

Fucale, yeah, looking forward to this kid developing properly. I'll see him a few times this winter I'm sure at Harbour Station.

    2. we take this victory for the socialist health care system under advisement, and tell you in America you would have died if you did not have the money. So the question is since you got a freebee, are you worthy?

I sure hope so. On average I think we pay more taxes than Americans. I'd like to think I paid in advance.

  4. Meh, worst tan I've had in years. Have to wait for my vacay in November for decent weather.

    1. I avoid the sun with a fascist devotion to things I can not control. Yet I get brown every year from being human. Maybe we could make getting a tan illegal to save us all.

  5. Much as I like looking at Kate Upton, she is well advised to not attempt to move herself into sacred ground. She is a good looking young girl, not going to move into the beauty stratosphere.

  6. Should leaf fans join a class action law suit to wrest control of a dysfunctional enterprise. Well they could not do it in Ontario where royal baby sucking whatever is put in their mouth justice presides. However due to a quirk in the legal system that say we are not all living in the matrix abides, leaf fans in Quebec could mount a class action suite against the biggest SUITS in Canada, Bell Media. First of all you would need a representative, second you would have to lower your expectations, while there may be a justifiable judgement you are not going to see any money. Our buddy 29 on the other hand would be justifiably rewarded, and I for one would like to see someone with a keen mind, and no alligence to what passes for morals patrolling the halls of justice. I am sure if Toronto had a crack smoking Mayor, a meth snorting lawyer would find an affinity. So there are a thousand ways we could employ 29, like giving us a Champlain Brigde that was falling down. For creating a criminal class out of gardeners, for making us fly between Montreal and Toronto, for spending 20 Billion in Afghanistan, or a similar amount on wigs and makeup.
The MAN has hit the wall of diminishing returns, and we have someone who can deliver

Hard to believe July is nearly over. Pretty soon we (Habs fans) will have something to bitch about.

Had barbequed chicken breast with raw baby carrots, mushrooms and cucumber with new PEI potatoes. Lots of butter on the boiled spuds. Yummy!

Coming back from The Cottage last nite listening to Black Cat Alley I never knew he was such an influential songwriter.

BTW - that kitchen pic is just....wow.

I occasionally try to post a simple comment on TSN. It may or may not often have negativity towards a certain team that attempts to play a certain winter sport on frozen water. My comments are NEVER published. Today as a test, I made a positive comment regarding the Fraser signing...now I feel dirty. It was published within 2 minutes...

  13. The Saint12:42 PM

Not only immediately published but up to a +12 in the comments section in less than an hour with no 'thumbs downs'.

Conclusion. Leaf fans (which obviously includes the Toronto mediots) require constant positive reinforcement to live with themselves. Otherwise, reality starts sinking in and bad shit happens. Much as I hate that team, I have a lot of good friends and even family that are diehard leaf fans, so I'll have to throw them the occasional 'good dog' bone.

    End scientific study.

  15. Hey all - Sorry to be so late to the party - sadly a bereavement has struck the Kmaxx Clan this weekend - sudden and unexpected - but preventable! My message FHFers - if you feel unwell - have yourself checked - you never know! (This does not apply to Steve, as undoubtedly he would spend all his days "getting checked".

In the words of the late, great Tony Soprano..."Whaddya gonna do..."

I had a visit last week from my leaf fan friend and we got on like a house on fire - the secret...? - never mentioned hockey once...to be fair - the temp over 'ere has been in the high 20's/low 30's for about a month so it was probably the furthest thing from our minds.

      My condolences Kmaxxx.
I asked my doc if it's time to start the an(nu)al checkup and he says I'm good til I'm 50. So I've got a few years yet. Knock on wood, I'm never sick or feel unwell, save a few rusty joints (no need for any 'need a new dealer' jokes :))

Made it to +28. Yay people like me because the leafs are awesome.

Though there are some nice craft beers which I often consume in Halifax, I've been on a Stella kick lately. Partially because my ball league is a Labatt (Interbrew) league and I need to purchase x amount of their beer to support the league, but mostly because I like it. Kilkenny is also regularly consumed (and preferred), but not an Interbrew beer :(

  19. Tagging up with some 'old' friends for a sammiCH and a brew or two. Love Stella. Really cold. Kilkenny during a Habs game is fantastic. Don't hate me as I like a squeeze of lime in my Artois. I call it my Sour Stella Squeeze.

Stella's OK. I like London Porter, Harp, Innis and Gunn, Czechvar and of course Guinness. Guinness has a black lager now available in Canada. Good stuff.

    2. My lager of choice over here is Stella. I was slightly disappointed when they reduced the ABV from 5.2% to 4.8% but whaddya gonna do.

When I go into a pub I never order a lager - always a beer, and which one I get depends on the pub. That's one of the things about living in the UK that is fantastic - the beers are always different!

I must search for that Guinness lager...sounds interesting...

I'm approaching 59, Yikes! CPP next year, 25th wedding anniversary and the senior's discount for my golf membership.

I see the seemingly desperate Florida Panthers signed the Mexican't for the upcoming season. I thought they drafted the center they needed in Barkov. Holy fuck Batman, is Kraperle next on Tallon's agenda?

Saw the Wolverine last night (by myself and cheap night) not bad. Hugh Jackman does a good job. Not a superhero movie per se, some good action though and the opening 5 minutes or so is awesome.
