Just read that Blunden got his start playing in Montreal West. I went to high school with a Blunden, maybe his kid? Small world.

    Yay for underboob!

Re Bournival's nickname. I don't know about Carnival. Michael means 'who is like god'. But if he was born evil (you know Bourn-ival...born evil), does that make him Satan

If anybody watched the prematurely cancelled Carnivàle about 10 years ago, Satan did play a large part, so maybe Carnivàle is the way to go.

    Anyway, GYFHG!!!

Good luck Steve. Don't let the Man get you down.

BTW, I didn't know that MP Toews retired, that's one less set of eyes watching you.

I would expect the Habs to beat the Oilers and get hammered by the Ducks and Sharks so the opposite will probably happen.

So we got Satan for the purse snatching Rhino (possibly one of his minions?) - I'm thinking good trade.
I see Patrick Holland is playing tonight. Did we get Dutchy in the Callameri trade? - I guess we'll see about that one - I'm thinking also a good trade.
Both trades by the Goat? Jeezuz, the goat...I'm seeing a horny connection here.

Real talent will rise to the top, but there is a graveyard of people that could have been real real good if given a chance. And I am one, said without prejudiced for the wage slave world the man has created.

I am a blessed Montrealer. People like me I guess. Just got word I got some last minute tix for the game. Luckily I live a 10 minute walk from the Bell. Will report back later. I am undefeated in live games this year. JINX

Enjoy the game, be excellent to each other!

  13. I'm cold. *shiver*. Heat pump ain't working but they're coming to install natural gas on Friday so I'll suffer until then. Gonna really feel like I'm at the rink tonight. Wearing a fleece hoodie, socks AND a blankie.

    2. the Maritimer7:00 PM

I had a heat pump installed last year, love it. I burned wood for twenty years, it's a great heat but I got tired of carrying and piling three cords of wood every year plus cleaning up dirt and ashes. I spent less money on electricity than wood so it was worth it.

      Delete
    3. the Maritimer7:02 PM

I should point out that I still have my wood stove and about a cord of wood on hand just in case. Anybody remember the ice storm of '98?

      Delete
    4. I dream of a heat pump, is yours a well or multiples of a 135 feet of trenches with coiled PVC hose?

      Delete
    5. "Anybody remember the ice storm of '98?" I live in Gatineau. After 15 years we just recently (this Spring) received our gov't refund cheques (lost food, etc.).

      Delete
    6. We were using a combo of heat pump and oil. But the oil is going and the gas is coming in. The heat pump needs a boost from the furnace but there's no oil. So on Friday it will be heat pump and gas and I will be getting a a gas stove in my kitchen. Yeah!

Wow, moe, that is some serious foot dragging. Is that the feds or the province? My heat pump draws heat from the air, not the geothermal type. I turned the system on a few days ago.

      Delete
    8. Provincial. Bonus was 15 years of interest at 4% and a second cheque coming (for what I have no clue).

      Delete
    9. When it gets down to -12 you need an alternate source of heat, no? That's how ours works.

      Delete
    10. an air source heat pump, only time I have seen one of those was on the Enterprise in the 23rd century. And you try and tell me you have never been in an alternative universe!

Fast game, lots of skating and scoring chances unlike the dreadful Predators imitation of the '95 Devils.

To finish up on the heat pump, it will extract heat up to about -20C, after that there is a heater built into the pump itself that acts as a backup. If it gets too cold I fire up the wood stove.

Kind of fun article about what kind of music each team is, from the CBC of all places. Habs get MoTown and the Beatles. The leaf are Miley Cyrus, Nickelback and Bieber. Pretty apt, and brutally honest from CBC.

  35. Habs absolutely dominated for 33 minutes, but as has been the case so far this year they couldn't bury their chances and put this game away. Then they took their foot off the gas and of course the other team scores on their next couple of shots (see how they bury the few opportunities they get?).

    ReplyDelete
  46. This is not an NHL team, save for PK and the EGG line. Flashes of greatness, but can't play 60 minutes. No passion, no skill. Let's be honest, the Oil is an AHL team with their best player injured. Price is getting outplayed by an AHL goalie. Again.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Too little, too late.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hey, another 1 goal loss. They bury ONE of those chances in the 2nd, would have won this game. Oh well, can't win by playing 35 minutes and having only one line.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Enjoy these 'close' losses before this team is embarrassed by real clubs. Injuries are one thing, but the pattern is not playing 60 minutes and A LOT of freeloaders. Not to mention inconsistent play by...someone I won't mention. Go Habs Go, but looks like another long year.

Apparently LEGO gave the Oil Tankers some bulletin board material. You better be able to back up that shit if you're going to say it.

Lots of work for MB to do with this outfit. I think that little 4 game win streak was mere smoke and mirrors.

Therrien says "we'll get better." Oh yeah? I'll believe that when I don't see DDD in the lineup anymore. Right now, I wish BlanCHe was getting DD's minutes, at least he's not on his ass all the time.

    1. Yup, read that too. Right when the giants from California are coming. Remember when we believed MB knew what he was doing?

    2. I think DGMB wants to develop three D prospects concurrently. So expect to see Plaid, NBoo8. and longfellow do the Hammer shuffle all season, I can see all three sticking for the playoffs.

  55. Almost as old as MASH are the pouges. Just discovered them a few months ago, but they are super if you like Mumford and Sons.

    1. Loved the Pogues. Haven't listened to them since Joe Strummer's passing a few years back though.
Also, I recall hearing that their long time guitarist recently succumbed to the big C.
Great stuff from the 80's/early 90's though for sure.

      Delete
  56. Not time to panic. This is a good team and deep. As much as I rag on DDD who would you put in his place? We can see early in this season its not the skilled and the swift that will take the prize, no its the teams that have depth to overcome injuries. If you think DDD can not hurt a team on the slack you do not know what I know. Which is mostly very little but I have strong opinions so listen to me, your lizard brain craves my mental food.
