Re Bournival's nickname. I don't know about Carnival. Michael means 'who is like god'. But if he was born evil (you know Bourn-ival...born evil), does that make him Satan
If anybody watched the prematurely cancelled Carnivàle about 10 years ago, Satan did play a large part, so maybe Carnivàle is the way to go.
If I get this job nothing less than the fate of humanity in this unversive will be altered. But do not worry with great power comes great responsibility, and I will meld it out judicially. I believe in natural law, and that means the habs get the best pure wool player every year.
So we got Satan for the purse snatching Rhino (possibly one of his minions?) - I'm thinking good trade. I see Patrick Holland is playing tonight. Did we get Dutchy in the Callameri trade? - I guess we'll see about that one - I'm thinking also a good trade. Both trades by the Goat? Jeezuz, the goat...I'm seeing a horny connection here.
When your on the bubble most dissipate. So lets hope Holland has enough cellular fiber to retain his oxygen. Real talent will rise to the top, but there is a graveyard of people that could have been real real good if given a chance. And I am one, said without prejudiced for the wage slave world the man has created.
oooh, early MASH Margaret Houlihan. There is a scene with her in a white sweater seducing Leslie Nielsen. I can't find it on YouTube, but just thinking about it is making me... TMI TMI TMI
I am a blessed Montrealer. People like me I guess. Just got word I got some last minute tix for the game. Luckily I live a 10 minute walk from the Bell. Will report back later. I am undefeated in live games this year. JINX
Moeman you don' give yourself (or us I suppose) enough credit. The tags always tell the true story about the message you are trying to convey on any given day. Sometimes subtle, sometimes in your face - always a highlight!
I'm cold. *shiver*. Heat pump ain't working but they're coming to install natural gas on Friday so I'll suffer until then. Gonna really feel like I'm at the rink tonight. Wearing a fleece hoodie, socks AND a blankie.
I had a heat pump installed last year, love it. I burned wood for twenty years, it's a great heat but I got tired of carrying and piling three cords of wood every year plus cleaning up dirt and ashes. I spent less money on electricity than wood so it was worth it.
"Anybody remember the ice storm of '98?" I live in Gatineau. After 15 years we just recently (this Spring) received our gov't refund cheques (lost food, etc.).
We were using a combo of heat pump and oil. But the oil is going and the gas is coming in. The heat pump needs a boost from the furnace but there's no oil. So on Friday it will be heat pump and gas and I will be getting a a gas stove in my kitchen. Yeah!
Wow, moe, that is some serious foot dragging. Is that the feds or the province? My heat pump draws heat from the air, not the geothermal type. I turned the system on a few days ago.
an air source heat pump, only time I have seen one of those was on the Enterprise in the 23rd century. And you try and tell me you have never been in an alternative universe!
So far the Habs have been all class, but what is happening with LeBrow makes me wonder. He was not that bad two years ago, something is going on and I do not know what it is.
Don't worry, you gotta keep the leaf fans hope up for as long as possible for maximum pain and angst when the inevitable collapse happens. It's all good.
Fast game, lots of skating and scoring chances unlike the dreadful Predators imitation of the '95 Devils.
To finish up on the heat pump, it will extract heat up to about -20C, after that there is a heater built into the pump itself that acts as a backup. If it gets too cold I fire up the wood stove.
Kind of fun article about what kind of music each team is, from the CBC of all places. Habs get MoTown and the Beatles. The leaf are Miley Cyrus, Nickelback and Bieber. Pretty apt, and brutally honest from CBC.
Habs absolutely dominated for 33 minutes, but as has been the case so far this year they couldn't bury their chances and put this game away. Then they took their foot off the gas and of course the other team scores on their next couple of shots (see how they bury the few opportunities they get?).
This is not an NHL team, save for PK and the EGG line. Flashes of greatness, but can't play 60 minutes. No passion, no skill. Let's be honest, the Oil is an AHL team with their best player injured. Price is getting outplayed by an AHL goalie. Again.
Hey, another 1 goal loss. They bury ONE of those chances in the 2nd, would have won this game. Oh well, can't win by playing 35 minutes and having only one line.
Enjoy these 'close' losses before this team is embarrassed by real clubs. Injuries are one thing, but the pattern is not playing 60 minutes and A LOT of freeloaders. Not to mention inconsistent play by...someone I won't mention. Go Habs Go, but looks like another long year.
Therrien says "we'll get better." Oh yeah? I'll believe that when I don't see DDD in the lineup anymore. Right now, I wish BlanCHe was getting DD's minutes, at least he's not on his ass all the time.
I think DGMB wants to develop three D prospects concurrently. So expect to see Plaid, NBoo8. and longfellow do the Hammer shuffle all season, I can see all three sticking for the playoffs.
Almost as old as MASH are the pouges. Just discovered them a few months ago, but they are super if you like Mumford and Sons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pogues
Loved the Pogues. Haven't listened to them since Joe Strummer's passing a few years back though. Also, I recall hearing that their long time guitarist recently succumbed to the big C. Great stuff from the 80's/early 90's though for sure.
Not time to panic. This is a good team and deep. As much as I rag on DDD who would you put in his place? We can see early in this season its not the skilled and the swift that will take the prize, no its the teams that have depth to overcome injuries. If you think DDD can not hurt a team on the slack you do not know what I know. Which is mostly very little but I have strong opinions so listen to me, your lizard brain craves my mental food.
GO DUCKS!!!
ReplyDeleteJust read that Blunden got his start playing in Montreal West. I went to high school with a Blunden, maybe his kid? Small world.
ReplyDeleteGo Habs
Habs a Hawkeye, leaf is Frank Burns
ReplyDeleteGYFHG
Why hasn't Louie Louie been called up ??
ReplyDeleteHave we bailed on him?
Does he suck?
Go Habs
Yay for underboob!

Anyway, GYFHG!!!
I'm liking Satan - he gets down and dirty in the Red Zone...
DeleteGo Habs Go!!
I like it as well easy to type, and a little eviel
DeleteJust got back from a job interview which I nailed, if things go well I will have a lot more time to post.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Steve. Don't let the Man get you down.
DeleteBTW, I didn't know that MP Toews retired, that's one less set of eyes watching you.
If I get this job nothing less than the fate of humanity in this unversive will be altered. But do not worry with great power comes great responsibility, and I will meld it out judicially. I believe in natural law, and that means the habs get the best pure wool player every year.
DeleteIf steve gets a job he may have to reduce his commenting frequency by, uh, hmm,, 4%?
DeleteFingers crossed for you buddy!
Are the Calgary Flames hiring?
DeleteThanks people, I will give you 71 virgins, I am keeping a few for myself.
DeleteI would expect the Habs to beat the Oilers and get hammered by the Ducks and Sharks so the opposite will probably happen.
ReplyDeleteSo we got Satan for the purse snatching Rhino (possibly one of his minions?) - I'm thinking good trade.

Sally Kellerman is a doll. Always thought she was a Montreal gal. Nope, California gal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally_Kellerman
Deleteoh and moe this tag just killed: get well (insert name here)
ReplyDeleteNice catCH 29. Wasn't sure if FHFolks noticed those.
DeleteMoeman you don' give yourself (or us I suppose) enough credit. The tags always tell the true story about the message you are trying to convey on any given day. Sometimes subtle, sometimes in your face - always a highlight!
DeleteThanXXX!
DeleteI just got it, I been thinking all day who is sick?
DeleteOnly saw a few minutes of Saturday's game while at a party but from what I read, it didn't go to well.
ReplyDeleteTonight, I'm just hoping for everyone to get out uninjured. GYFHG!!!
An injury free game would be a bonus.
ReplyDeleteI'm cold. *shiver*. Heat pump ain't working but they're coming to install natural gas on Friday so I'll suffer until then. Gonna really feel like I'm at the rink tonight. Wearing a fleece hoodie, socks AND a blankie.
ReplyDeleteDo not leave your heat pump, mother nature will never forgive you
DeleteI had a heat pump installed last year, love it. I burned wood for twenty years, it's a great heat but I got tired of carrying and piling three cords of wood every year plus cleaning up dirt and ashes. I spent less money on electricity than wood so it was worth it.
DeleteI should point out that I still have my wood stove and about a cord of wood on hand just in case. Anybody remember the ice storm of '98?
DeleteI dream of a heat pump, is yours a well or multiples of a 135 feet of trenches with coiled PVC hose?
Delete"Anybody remember the ice storm of '98?" I live in Gatineau. After 15 years we just recently (this Spring) received our gov't refund cheques (lost food, etc.).

DeleteProvincial. Bonus was 15 years of interest at 4% and a second cheque coming (for what I have no clue).
DeleteWhen it gets down to -12 you need an alternate source of heat, no? That's how ours works.
Deletean air source heat pump, only time I have seen one of those was on the Enterprise in the 23rd century. And you try and tell me you have never been in an alternative universe!
DeleteSomebody should tell CHarger he doesn't have to be going full speed into the boards on the forecheck.
ReplyDeleteIt ain't healthy
Think they'll miss Briere tonight?
Kinda looking forward to seeing what Holland does. Squid played a big part in Calgary's surprise victory last night.
Go Ducks! Quack!
So far the Habs have been all class, but what is happening with LeBrow makes me wonder. He was not that bad two years ago, something is going on and I do not know what it is.
DeleteTurn on the heat for the first time today. Keep the toes and nose warm Moey.
ReplyDeleteWill do. I had heat stroke during the ice storm, spent that winter in Australia.
Deletethats why your always talking about tucker :)
DeleteIt was 17 today down on the south coast of Canada
Delete1-0 Ducks
ReplyDeleteYeah!
DeleteI have seen many things, even MT2.0 throwing out the notebook and playing the best players, WOW
ReplyDeleteI am watching the Walking Dead epsode 2 because, Oilrer with out Taylor Hall are like John Carter of Mars without Tyler Lauton
Delete2-0 Ducks! QUACK QUACK Motherfuckers! The leaf only have 2 shots on net. I knew the math would catch up!
ReplyDeletePleXXXe!
ReplyDeletePleXXXe!!!
ReplyDeleteCASH IT!
ReplyDeletePleXXXe! Obviously I'm way behind you guys.
ReplyDeleteKidG!!! Beauty!
ReplyDeletekid-G wow!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to marry Gally and have his children.
ReplyDelete... and right on cue!
ReplyDeleteMarkov possibly hurt. When it rains...
ReplyDeleteVery nice period. Keep it up boyos.
ReplyDeleteThe leaf score. Seems like they score on every 6 shots. Luckily they only get 14 shots a game.
ReplyDeleteAnd they score again on the next shot.
ReplyDeleteMy lord, the leaf just throw it at net and it goes in.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, you gotta keep the leaf fans hope up for as long as possible for maximum pain and angst when the inevitable collapse happens. It's all good.
DeleteHammer in the house...
ReplyDeleteAlways liked the Hammer and missed him when he left.
DeleteYup. I probably cursed him out one night too many but I can't deny he was a workhorse though. Got a nice round of applause too.
DeleteFast game, lots of skating and scoring chances unlike the dreadful Predators imitation of the '95 Devils.
ReplyDeleteTo finish up on the heat pump, it will extract heat up to about -20C, after that there is a heater built into the pump itself that acts as a backup. If it gets too cold I fire up the wood stove.
Who fires up Mrs. the M.?

ReplyDeleteCrap.
ReplyDeleteJesus, c'mon boys.
ReplyDeleteUh, Carey, you need to get those.
ReplyDeleteUh, Carey, you need to get those.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
ReplyDeleteShit! Ducks and Sharks up next, we really need to win this.
ReplyDeleteSee above post.
DeleteI read it earlier, I hope we're wrong but.....

ReplyDeleteWhere's moe?
ReplyDeleteRight here. Work & Play.
DeleteJayzus, that was a mess. Way to loosey-goosey out there.....where's Chokula when you need him?
ReplyDelete4-2 leaf
ReplyDeleteThat sucks.
Delete4 goals on 22 shots. Surely, the math has to catch up with them eventually.
ReplyDeleteDon't call me Shirley!
I am on the OMan feed, it even has a little Korean ying a yang as its icon. BTW its perfect
ReplyDeleteWhat a horse PK is.
ReplyDeleteAck
ReplyDeleteFuck. Like you couldn't see that coming.
ReplyDeleteOpen season on Habs!
ReplyDeleteFFS!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is sad to watch.
ReplyDeleteOh boy
ReplyDeleteWell, that's it for me. 'Night all.
ReplyDeletesame for me

ReplyDeletedid we win?
ReplyDeleteoh wait right i was there. I blacked out for the last half of the game so it's hard to remember
The end is neigh.
ReplyDeleteApparently LEGO gave the Oil Tankers some bulletin board material. You better be able to back up that shit if you're going to say it.
ReplyDeleteLots of work for MB to do with this outfit. I think that little 4 game win streak was mere smoke and mirrors.
Lego must have been misquoted, it does not sound like him.
Deleteits not so bad, TFS was not horrible and we are in the MASH unit.
ReplyDeleteTherrien says "we'll get better." Oh yeah? I'll believe that when I don't see DDD in the lineup anymore. Right now, I wish BlanCHe was getting DD's minutes, at least he's not on his ass all the time.
