Interesting to see how gCHuck compares to Hurtzel. Number 3 overall vs number 12.

  3. I love Abe Vigoda - what a master thespian! Hey the UK rolls back the clocks tonight so if the Habs shit the bed in the second period maybe I could ask for a do over. A bit Marty Mcflyish of me but let's see how it goes...Go Habs Go!!

  7. Watching the Sharks feed. The guys just mentioned how odd it was that they only got one PP in Boston. Yeah...welcome to our world.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Now they're talking about dangerous hits by the broons, and how the refs could have possibly missed them......yeah...I know that feel.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Now they're talking about what a fine young man PK is and how he's just going to get better and better. Seriously, it's like the complete opposite of CBC.

    ReplyDelete
  10. MT2, FFS, quit swearing to yourself and swear at the fucking refs.

    leaf score. Plan the parade.

Doesn't look like they are going to get anything by Niemi. Price better be perfect for at least 60 minutes to get at least a point.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So if I've got this right, it's ok to pin players on the ice and also, throwing picks when the puck is dumped in is now OK...if you have a white sweater on at least. Just making sure I've got this right.

  17. Oh yeah, so I'm streaming CBC to my tv - a bit choppy at times and kinda low def but not terrible. So I'm pretty sure that Bob Cold and me are watching different games at times. Wow. 80 is a nice age to retire Bob. Holy frig.

If you're interested, it's the Sharks feed but it's good. Like, in quality and in professionalism (not often found in US broadcasts).

Cherry shows the leaf scoring and says "we" score. Way to show your bias CBC.

  19. Hey! What'd I miss?

    ReplyDelete
  20. the Maritimer8:10 PM

I'm streaming as well but just to my laptop, I can connect to my TV but found it a little choppy. My laptop is a 17" and the picture is HD so it's pretty good. Got the leaf/Pens game on the TV in the background.

  26. Remind me again...Bouillion plays because he's French...any other reason?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nice play by play by a little kid on rods...cute!

    ReplyDelete
  28. So the Habs pressure, Sharks get away with murder and then the refs call one on the Habs. This league is shameless.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Nice sack by the Sharks!

  33. To think the Habs revenue-sharing Cheque pays to keeps these fucking bettman ref-sucked teams in the league.

    1. To be fair, I think SJ does pretty well on their own. But yes, they are part of Bettman's "Southern Project".

    2. Agreed. Been to a game in SJ. Full house (vs. EDM). Lots of ex-pats.

  34. No chance the habs are allowed to win this game. That said, considering their roster, I'm surprised and impressed how they're doing except for that 1st 10 minutes of the 2nd. Cold said "Desjardin missed a great opportunity" about the DDD chance off the back board. I'd still take Eric back in DDD's place.

I caught that slip as well. Ol' Bob Cold was back in '93 for a minute there. It's a wonder he even knows where he is or what day it is.

  35. The Shark announcers, who have been pretty good so far (at least better than HNIC), on that tackle at the blue line "The refs know that you just have to let those battles happen!" Yeah, tell that to Cube.

  36. Not a great period. Terrible pp but a couple of good kills. Someone remind me why Bouillion is playing again?

  37. the Maritimer9:00 PM

Funny how the Sharks or those other southern type teams have no problem bringing up a young defenceman or two and let them play regardless. But the Habs, oh no, can't have rookies playing and making mistakes, they'll be ruined. The Habs need size on the backend and have it in Tinordi and Pateryn but insist on small 38 year old Cube and marshmallow soft swiss mister III Diaz. Keep losing dumb asses.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Just went back in time...only 4 hours difference between Montreal and London ...for a week at least. Can I get a do over for the period as we'll?

  41. Ok, so that sucked. But Price was in absolutely no rush to get back into position after he saw that bounce.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That's about right. Um...go Pens.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Sadly this takes the lens off of the fucked up refs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. No one would talk about it anyway. Ask any hockey fan, they'll tell you how fucked up the refs are (across the league), yet no one in the league or media ever says a word. If you do, you're punished.

  44. Can't take seeing Big Bird behind the SJ bench.

    ReplyDelete
  45. There is a 15 foot circle in front of the Shark net that no Hab has touched all night. Even if we got a bounce like they did, no one would be there to pot it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. the Maritimer9:18 PM

Habs over matched against this team. Other than that brief flurry late in the second they've hardly threatened Niemi. I think they were fortunate to get two points against a flat, probably jet-lagged Ducks team.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I missed that. did Moen eat a puck?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Not good..should be a 5 minute major...but it won't be

What a warrior, though, has to be convinced to leave the bench. Open season for the Sharks.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Gkid back out there. Love that little guy!

  51. One has to wonder when these four officials sit down and strip down to their jocks and discuss how they fucked up another game and then pass the soap.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Won't matter as Sharks always find a way to lose in the first round of the playoffs.

  59. The positives: 2-0, but one on a bad bounce off the boards (and another on a possible offside and illegal knee-on-knee hit). Lots of injuries, terrible refs. Price looked good.

There's something wrong with PK, though. He's not looking his normal self. Vodkov fumbled another easy pass at the blue line, I've seen that in the dying minutes many many times recently. DDD had too much ice time, in that he had any ice time at all. Gkid is made of steel. Hope Moen is okay.

    ReplyDelete
  60. If it's any consolation to us, no matter how good the Sharks were tonight, they'll be out after 6 games into the playoffs.

    ReplyDelete
  61. the Maritimer9:48 PM

Agree with KmaXXX....Habs got schooled tonight.

Moe, the Sharks might be playoff flops but we can't say too much other. Much work to be done by Mssr. Bergevin.

  62. The refs didn't lose this game for the Habs, but it is interesting that once it was 2-0 they stopped calling what they called in the first 2 periods. Your league will never be taken seriously if a penalty in the 1st period is a hockey play in the 3rd. Of course, your league will never be taken seriously when attempted murder is considered a hockey play.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Going to see Gravity later today. Anyone here seen it yet? Looks pretty good, though I'm skeptical due to Sandra Bolluck's involvement.

  66. Allow me minute here...I am taking exception to MT2. I have never been more uninspired by a Habs coach than I am with MT2 right now...except maybe Chocula...but I digress...he looked resigned to losing from the time I tuned in (end of 1st). He had his coaching ass handed to him by whoever it is tha coaches the sharks as well as by Larry Robinson, who is the person the Habs should have broken the fucking bank to convince to join the coaching squad years ago. Mt2 is becoming more and more useless. He plays his best players less and less and sticks with the fuckin useless French midgets because that way no one gives him shit when the Habs lose. Tonight's game was a complete fuckin embarrassment and he should be ripping strips off of the entire team...but he won't. He will say some bullshit about it being a bad bounce and

    ReplyDelete
  67. Logan Couture was drafted 9th overall in 2007. You know what we needed tonight was a stud defenceman to defend against him. Too bad we didn't draft one 12th overall that same year.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just about what I said earlier about every fan knowing the officiating if fucked in this league, but the media refusing to talk about it: 690am right now denies the refs did anything wrong tonight right at the top of their show. Say anything about it, you're cut off from access. This league is pathetic.

    ReplyDelete

    1. the Maritimer10:15 PM

Orange, yeah the refs suck for the most part but that's not why Montreal lost tonight. San Jose owned them for the most part and the Habs had very little second effort tonight. Other than that flurry late in the second, they were one and done all night. Price kept them in it, he only gave up one, can't ask for much more than that. Nope, Montreal got beat by a better team tonight.

KmaXXX caught something I noticed as well, Therrien is useless. I can't stand seeing that blank expression on his face... so Chokula-like.

      Delete
    2. I'm with you guys. Sick of that blank 'I don't give a shit' look. Wait til we see the contrast next week against Pat Roy.

      Delete
    3. Yup, like I said above the refs didn't lose this game. And it's not just against MTL.

      Delete
  69. Now even a Shark fan calls in and mentions the reffing, and 690 still denies it.

  70. That's me done...night all. Thanks Moeman !

  71. Boone over at HIO points this out:

The last time the Habs got shut out at home was, like tonight, game #11 of the season last year (also a Sat night game). Remember that? 6-0 vs the leaf? And then they tore it up for the next month or two. History repeats?

  74. Just want to also add that it's been over 24 hours since the leaf beat the Pens and many more games have transpired in that time, not to mention the Vanek trade. Yet TSN still has Kadri making out with Reimer on their front page. We get it, the parade will be on Wednesday at noon.

    1. The Vanek trade proves Garth Snow is a traveler from another dimension. This is the kind of trade you make if you are the manager of the leaf, your job is on the line if you miss the playoffs or you are one player away from the cup.

    2. I must apologize, probably for the first time ever I commented without knowing all the facts. Vanek is a free agent at the end of the season and has made it known he wants to go to the wild. Wow Mr Snow, you make people happy.
