Colorado off to an 11-1 start. Nah, St. Patrick can't coach in the NHL, no experience. Wonder if DDD would still be getting more ice time than gCHuk under his watch? Somehow, I doubt it. I won't lose any sleep tonight if the Habs lose this one.

  2. Can the Habs sign Tremblay to a one day coaching contract. He can just stand at the end of the bench staring at Roy like the last time they were together.

  3. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what an 11-1 team looks like. Carbo, on the Dallas telecast, said the team wasn't that great (i'm paraphrasing), but they're getting great goaltending.

Matt Duchene's line is lighting it up, Ryan O'Reilly is playing well and they are getting good goaltending....how could they not with the fire-breathing Roy watching?

  4. I once attented a world class Executive Re education seminar. It lasted 3 weeks and I learned a lot of things, fist I was not a world class executive. No I more like a galaxy class. But I did contribute something to train the trainer. Its always about comfort VS competence. That applies to everything in life. So in the case of Saint Patrick its all competence and no comfort. Very tough choice, but I think in hindsight we can see Mr Molson missed that ship.

OK, got up fairly early, got a bowl of cereal and a coffee and watched the game on the PVR. Overall, not a bad game to watch,
Colorado a little stronger up front, tough no-name D got the job done and JS Giguere outplayed Budaj. The Habs were in the game until half way through the third, couple of defensive lapses cost them and that was all she wrote. Surprisingly, I didn't find Bob Cold and Gary Galley all that offensive in their assessment of the play, didn't really rip on the Habs and had lots of praise for Kid Gallagher. I think they sent pjstuck and the rest of the Habs haters home early. DDD was useless again last night, wonder if the clock is ticking down on him....why not try Bournival at center for a game or two? That's his position. Next game against the Blues, look for Jaro to put on a show. Didn't he shut them out two years ago? HF29 should dig out one of his classic Jaro monologues....or was that one of the other 4Habs Fans?

  28. A waste of a weekend has given me pause for thought and I thought I would share...it won't change things but I will feel better and possibly will be less stressed as the season progresses.

I have been thinking a great deal about our Habs this weekend. Losing two on the bounce to the Wild and the Avs gives me cause for great concern. There are element so the Habs that do not make sense to me at all. Let's start with BGP - Big George Parros - since day 1 I have been at pains to see why he would be taking up a roster spot when the Habs have so many talented rookies and 2nd year players in their system. I see it as a gut reaction by DGMB to getting pummelled out of the playoffs last season. But it is not a long term play and it has started to cost the Habs. He's a liability. This isn't 1976 either. The Habs haven't got the firepower to compensate for him coming on the ice, beating someone up, taking an extra instigator penalty then having to kill a penalty. Plus he's slow and the key to the Habs winning is their speed. That's how they get away with being smaller than a lot of teams. They are quick. Gally is fast and he crashes the net, then he gets hit then he gets up then he does it all over again. That wins the Habs games. George Parros is not going to win the Habs many games.

I'm not going to go into analysis of each player, because the problem is a lot bigger than that. The problem, as I see it, is that DGMB picked the wrong coach. MT2 is no better than MT1 and it is pretty obvious that he has run out of ideas. But he is continually being outcoached and he remains so stuck in his ways that I worry about what he is doing to some of the Habs biggest players ans to their future with the organisation. Look what he's doing to PFK. He has never liked him, and I remember watching him enough times on L'AC to know that. He can't take back all he has said. He's slowing squeezing the "F" out of PFK.

I watched all the interviews with Patrick Roy on the weekend, and then I watched what his team did to the Habs and it made me wonder what if...not "what if Patrick Roy was the Habs coach"...because I remain convinced that it would have not worked the same way in Montreal as it has so far in Denver - the comparative pressure differences are incomparable - I wonder "what if the Habs had hired someone else?" Someone who understood the modern game and the players that can make or break a team's success.

God I hope I'm wrong but that feeling I had about halfway through the Wild game is sitting in the pit of my stomach and it's not moving too quickly...I hope it's just gas...

    1. I agree with MT2.0 comment. Its just stupid to rag on PFK in public, As far as Parros I am still with DGMB. We need a deterrent, do you use him like MT2.0, or do you just dress him for two min, I remember a game last year where the fucking Jackal was taking cheap shots all night, we cant have that.

My own thoughts and a response to KmaXXX:

Bergevin basically had his hand forced with Parros, unfortunately the NHL still has remnants of 1976 lurking around, see the Phuckers/Caps game last Friday. Toronto and Boston and Ottawa in the playoffs took too many liberties with the Habs smaller players and Prust couldn't do it alone. I feel better knowing he's available.

I never liked the Therrien hiring just like I didn't like the Martin hiring. Also unfortunately, it's been determined that the first requirement for the Habs coaching position is you have to speak french. That is a very small pool in NHL circles. Maybe Roy wouldn't have had the success he is currently having in Montreal, but I think the Habs record wouldn't have been much different than it is. They are mediocre team without a true game breaker like a Crosby or Ovechkin with a suspect defence...Markov and Subban are legitimate top 4 but the rest not so much. The goaltending is above average, hence they are capable of winning their share of games unlike teams such as Buffalo or Philly. MT was just a fill in until the Habs get their young guns groomed and matured, who will eventually take over I have no clue. PK should hang in there.

We have to give Bergevin a chance to build this team. Shit like last weekend is going to happen and we have to live with it. Lets see what happens when they start playing eastern conference teams on a regular basis, then we should have a better idea where they stand.

I read last night that gCHuk is moving to center for Tuesday night's game and they have called up a career minor league 30 year old center from Hamilton. I'd say DDD's time as a Hab may be growing short, no pun intended.

    3. The M - I agree on the language thing but it's not something that is ever going to be tackled head-on I fear. I like Bergevin and I am behind him...maybe it's me - but I just don't get Parros. Was he the best available? Or has he just under performed since knocking himself out?

      Delete
    4. the Maritimer8:52 AM

Forget the language issue. It is a fact and will remain eternally so.

Re: Parros, he's no worse than Colton Orr as far as playing ability, he is a deterrent. Period. Give him a little time to recover from his concussion.

    5. Parros and his ilk are pawns, you need one to sacrifice one to win the end game.

    7. I was thinking aboot saying prawns instead of pawns. Then it came to me they are prawns. Giant shrimp made in a sick hockey factory. We all know from district 9 not all prawns are brawn. However, stop the generator that puts these heavy metal combatants on the ice. Dumbing down civilization, I can see it happening ever day. Goons are dumbing down hockey and because their influence is anomalous to sport clear canaries in the wind farm. We can win with smurfs, just turn the other cheek and have lots of backup. Lets say we just take little pounder takers like Kid G. There are thousands of them out there that could not make the NHL because they are smurfs. DDD is one, but he cant skate worth a fuck.

Says a former wage slave. 29 has apparently thrown off the chains, for wage slavery is only a degradation supporting worse degratations. So stop turn around, something big is comming down, avoid slave labour organizations when ever you can. The problem is they surround us and employ us daily.

Okay I admit this was a rif on the people who are paid to ignore reality will support any reality disfuntion bubble prescribed. 30. Steve...wtf mate! I was on a role and you just killed my buzz man! We were talking Habs, Parros, PFK , MT2 and DGMB. What we have here is a failure to communicate - pure and simple. DGMB is doing a good job. MT2 is not! PFK is doing a good job...Parros is not. But, maybe he will be of some use closer to crunch time. I will wait it out, as I do have faith in what DGMB is doing - look how Chicago fared. But in MT2 I do not have any faith. He's a fuckin' dick. He has his moments but they are way too few and far between. And very much how I will never listen to or take anything mario tremblay (intentional lowercase) say seriously, I am rapidly approaching that state with MT2. It's not about him it's about the Montreal Canadiens. He needs to learn that quickly and deal with the fact that good players have the right to crow when they are good and should be encouraged to do so. They are usually the first to put their hand up and say "I fucked up" when they fuck up. They don't need some dickhead mutherfucking wankjob telling all and sundry that they fucked up. And that, my fellow 4HFers is how I truly feel! Someone correct me if I am wrong but (and I will paraphase the dickhead from any number of his latenight L'AC appearances) - and excuse my crap french spelling - just swing a proper french accent onto this and you'll get the jist..."...pour moi la, Therrien n'est pas un entraineur complete. Y'a beaucoup d'autres entrainers qui sont dont bien meilleur que lui.Y coach trop pour lui meme et non ses co-equipers et il doit apprendre tres vite que ce n'est pas un sport individual. PFK will continue to star for les Canadiens de Montreal long after MT has been thrown on the coaching scrap heap. He (PFK) knows he is going to get paid large by somebody if MB decides not to ante up. I cannot see that happening. Who would you rather have on the back end PFK or that skinny little Swedish kid in Ottawa? I know who I want. Sure PK takes some risks but, so did big Larry when he charged up the ice, as did Lapointe, and what about Savard's spinaramas at the blueline? Risks are part of the game and the fans pay to be entertained not watch fucking trap systems designed by coaches who want to win every game 1-0.

DDD had one good year playing with two power forwards, getting lots of assists, for a last place team that no one really took seriously. Hence lots of garbage points in games probably already lost. I wish David Desharnais no ill will, but it has become obvious that he is no longer capable to compete in a first line center role, so what is left for him? He's too small to be an effective checker or tough enough to play on an energy line like BlanCHe. The Habs have much better options at center with Eller, Galchenyuk and Plekanec so it looks like MB will have to swallow this contract and return DDD to the AHL where he would be much better suited. He's going to earn $14 million over the next 4 years so no need to feel bad for him. Maybe if he gets his mojo back some southern based team would take a chance on him. Good luck David.
