    Ha ha ha ha!!!!!!

I recognized that photo of Bergevin walking away from the exploding hospital immediately.... Heath Ledger (the Joker) from the Dark Knight Returns. Nothing gets by this old comic book fan.

Great Sexy Friday moe, is that Pauline Marois' bosom that crucifix is dangling from?

Finally starting to feel better, been in bed for two days, this viral thing really kicked the shit out of me.

    Thanks, Dallas.

  2. Another outstanding SF Moeman...although Gene Wilder's head on that chick's body is a bit creepy...and if I channel my inner juce (we all have a,little "inner juce" around here methinks) you are correct when you quote Willy Wonka himself - "there is no earthly way of knowing..."

Let's channel the positive people...Go Habs Go!! Go Habs Go!!! Go Habs Go!!!

The howling mob (some of them anyway) over at HI/O want all the vets traded away for prospects and draft picks and run the rest of the way with the kids. Man, I don't know if that's the way to go. Look where it's got Edmonton and Calgary and to a certain extent Buffalo, it's a dangerous concept unless you want to completely tank the season. Maybe a couple of guys on expiring contracts like Gio and Crankshaft. I would definitely re-sign Markov another 4 or 5 years and reduce his minutes a bit. One trade I would seriously look at, as per the earlier rumours, if someone really wants Patches I would insist that DD go with him. Take back a less skilled center but with more size. Or, another winger and put Lego at center where he belongs. My two cents anyway.

    1. Patches is untouchable, you cant teach scoring, despite all the money I spent on those videos. Wth TFS in net we can afford to be somewhat sloppy on defence, what we really need is scoring. A good place to start would be just getting the shot on goal. Daizling I am looking at you. We can win with a speed kills strategy, just need to be intelligent about it. This means playing four lines high tempo. This means a shuttle between Hamilton and Montreal to compensate for the smurfs fragility. The art of war dictates, if you are a smurf you do not go to war like a power forward.

The reason we are not scoring on some teams is because they have proper D's. The reason we get scored upon is because our D seriously sucks. God bless Vodkov for all the years, but he is getting pyloned a little too often he doesn't have the speed and runs out of gas. His Flashyness plays some D but loves the offence, himself and gets caught too often with bonehead penalties. Cube is old and was a solid third pair at his peak anyway. Y just looks confused and he isn't banging. His game is banging, so he should fucking bang. Jay George is another of our third/forth pair guys getting long in the tooth loosing a step and running out of gas. Every time I think of Ryan Mcdonagh I get angry but there was our boost the D guy we needed so badly. I think we have a reasonable amount of firepower up front. Yes there are changes to be made, but a solid crush your face D keeps the other team from getting three four or five fucking goals which will allow the front bunch to bang one or two in. Back in the mists of time when we had the big three, nobody ran the score up on us. So all we needed was a couple and it was a game. Watching Those Large Flightless Birds swoop around our end caused me to increase my blood alcohol to an unsafe level. I find myself yelling at the TV. Mrs Chester is starting to be worry and the kids just stay away. MB has to do something cause no matter how loud I yell at the TV nothing changes.
      Go Habs

  9. Finally a meeting with the Wings. Even when they were in different conferences we didn't have to wait this long. Ridiculous. From TSN (not just the main article, but the blurb on their front page):
"Canadiens goaltender Carey Price and defenceman PK Subban both struggled last game but get a chance to make amends in front of Team Canada head coach Mike Babcock."

  10. In other news, just got home from the bar where I (33) had an animated conversation with a friend who is a full decade older than me and another friend who is 5 years my junior about punk, post-punk and new wave. We had different generations of punk as our points of reference, and all enjoy new wave and post-punk, but we all had different takes on how one affected the other and the very definition of all three.

Example: Blondie (an FHF favourite): New Wave. Joy Division/New Order: New Wave? Synth Pop? Is there a difference? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Or don't. I don't know. I'm about 7 double whiskey cokes into this. Probably won't wake up in time for the game, is what I'm saying.

Detroit: MoTown (my third parent), KISS, Eminem, White Stripes, Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Madonna, Iggy Pop...

    Let the music play!

Knuckles Nilan spoke at length this afternoon about this. Apparently, a few players were visibly upset after the Pens game and Gagnon "perceived" it was directed at eMTy. He then posted his "perception" on twitter. Knuckles had several callers saying MB has to do this, do that, trade this guy or that guy. Nilan kept reiterating it ain't that easy! Nobody wants the Habs under performing players. If a contender wants somebody like Gio or Moen or whoever, you won't be getting any NHL bodies back. Merely picks who won't be ready for 5 years. Nilan also
pointed out repeatedly, this latest rebuild won't happen over night, there are no miracle cures and the only real problem is, as we are all aware, they have too many small players, who over the length of an 82 game season wear down. You can't constantly battle guys who are taller and out weigh you by 30 or 40 lbs. Physics is physics. They also seriously lack depth up front, hence the reason it took so long to call anybody up to replace gCHuk. LL couldn't carry #27's jock strap on offense and never will. He is at best a 3rd line guy and that may be pushing it.

The Habs will eventually pull out of this swoon but it may be too late when they do as other, bigger, stronger teams pass them by. We'll have to see.

One caller pointed out something that may be valid as well. After the 2009 colossal fuck up, Gainey basically let everybody walk, among them Saku, Souray and l'Artiste plus about 6 more. They got nothing back for any of those players except cap space which they promptly blew on Smurfville. Did they ever replace any of that depth? Not really, hence nobody on the farm to come up (except on D). It's going to take years for MB to fill that void.

Long winded rant, but so much what Nilan said made sense I thought it worth repeating. Bottom line, I'll be surprised if eMTy is canned this year. It's going to be a roller coaster the rest of the season, hand on tight.

Price allowed all five goals on 21 shots before being pulled late in the second period. Peter Budaj entered in relief and stopped all 10 shots fired his way. Subban finished with a minus three rating and was given a pep talk by general manager Marc Bergevin before practice on Thursday.
