    2. I only heard (yesterday) that he was skating, so I guess it wasn't a serious injury but no news about today's game.

  3. If CHarger can't play, Christian Thomas will have a CHance to. He has 1 NHL game - vs the Habs when he was with the Rangers.

“I’m very happy to be here. I’d really like to be in the lineup on Saturday. It would be incredible to play, especially against a team with my dad behind the bench,” offered Thomas, who could potentially find himself in the Habs’ lineup against a Lightning team that boasts Steve Thomas as one of its assistant coaches. “I’ve already spoken with my father. I called him yesterday when I got called up. He’s very excited for me. He wished me the best, and he’s hoping that I’ll get a shot to play against his team.”

    Good luck, kid.
    Go Habs Go!

    1. Always liked Steve Thomas. Classy player, despite being a leaf. I know Mrs. Thomas, very down to earth person. A great day for them and their son.

    2. Now CHarger is expected to play, so Thomas will replace Carnaval who has the flu.

  7. Lindback stopped 23-of-27 shots in relief of Bishop, but Tampa's backup also suffered an injury when he was run into by Ottawa's Cory Conacher. Although Lindback finished Thursday's contest he has been ruled out for today, while Bishop practiced on Friday and is questionable for this afternoon's contest.

Although Bishop's participation in practice on Friday is a good sign, the Lightning recalled two goaltenders from the AHL for today's game just in case Bishop was unable to suit up. Both Cedrick Desjardins and Kristers Gudlvevskis were called up from Tampa's AHL affiliate in Syracuse for Saturday.

This in from tsn insider dredger....

the leaf have informed teams that they're willing to move Nikolai Kulemin.

dredger notes, however, that this isn't simply getting rid of salary to make some room for the return of Dave Bolland. The leaf would need a substantial return, including a player and not just a draft pick. No offers have been tabled yet that make sense according to dredger.

What a fucking genius. You want to trade a guy and you expect somebody is going to offer you a gold mine? What a dick.

  65. No way Bishop shouldn't get a penalty.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh shut up cockroaches.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Fuck you refs, Prust isn't allowed to talk?

    ReplyDelete
  68. So Bishop comes after Prust and Tampa gets the PP? Price for leaving the crease? It's a timeout!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bishop should have gotten a five for fighting or at least an instigator.

    ReplyDelete
  70. This is what's fucked in the NHL. If Prust just skates away after Bishop goes after him, Bishop doesn't get a penalty. So Prust has really nothing to lose on the retaliation because it'll be off setting, and he might put the goalie off his game. But then everyone comes in and Habs get the extra because they deem it as Prust starting the whole thing because goalies are "untouchable" (except when it's Price, but I digress). So what's the right thing to do there? Just skate away and take a head shot from some thug later on and probably get no call for that either? Or just go with it?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The point I'm trying desperately to make at 5am and too many sojus is that a penalty is not just a penalty in the NHL. A holding call in the NFL is a holding call in a preseason game or the Superbowl. A foul is a foul in the NBA much the same way. But punching a guy in the face in the NHL is or isn't a penalty depending on context, who's playing, the logo on your jersey, time of year and period of game. It's so stupid.

      Delete
    2. It's totally fine to assault a goalie if your philthy name is Emery, but since then, I guess you can't even do something as innocent as telling a goalie - what Steve said.

      Delete
  71. By the way, TFS was already at his bench AS USUAL due to TV time-out which. as of today, is now call a minor for leaving the crease.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To be fair, Bishop also got a leaving the crease penalty. The extra one was just for Prust (Unsportsman like). My complaint here is why Bishop didn't get a roughing or similar. Goes back to my above point that Bishop wouldn't have gotten anything if Prust didn't retaliate. And Prust wouldn't have gotten anything if Bishop didn't go after him and others didn't come. It's all a circle jerk.

I have no way to evaluate, but it is safe to speculate, cut down on a knee means that for the rest of your life your going to be stride hindered.
