Might as well go for a sauna
Nobody hurts and don cherry cries
Might as well go for a sauna
mclame drones just more cbc lies
So we're in one of our blog moods
Coach wanna have it your way and I want it mine
All this debating goaling 'round in our blue paint
Makes me thirsty for <insert fave drink here>
Might as well go for a sauna
Mediots blurt and insidredger sighs
Might as well go for a sauna
Cockroaches hurt, friedman’s hair looks dyed
Life seems to be a bomb inside of your head
Well the bomb in my head is CArey love
All this debating goaling 'round in our blue crease
Makes me hungry for <insert fave brunch here>
Might as well go for a sauna
Teemu flirts = Pant!ies off thighs
Might as well go for a sauna
Sochi on iPhone as Maltais+Maëlle flies
Might as well go for a sauna
It's better than heely slander,
It's better than KG(ary)B(ettman) spies
Might as well go for a sauna
Want a ‘ham’burger with your FHFries?
Might as well go for a sauna
Fuck it, go for the prize

Great parody, moeman.
ReplyDeleteStill no word on from coach babs.
Go Team Canada Go!!
Thanks.
DeleteWallpapers
Seems to me that going into the Olympics, you should already know who will guard the net and if so, why all the secrecy, cloak and dagger stuff, KG(ary)B(ettman) spies don't even seem to know. Toss a coin if you can't make a profession decision.
ReplyDelete*professional*
DeleteGreat Paradoy of one of the most annoying songs ever. Growing up in Southern Ontario I saw lots and lots of Max Weber, our own Janes Addiction. Patio lanterns are lighting up all over Sochi and they spell CArey. Bablblingcock will not let PFK play either. He wants Choucla system error free hockey or dont play. But why PFK held to a different standard?
ReplyDeleteHouse of Cards marathon in the final quater
ReplyDeleteBronze for Hudec in the Super G! First alpine medal in 20 years!
ReplyDeleteSilver for Maltais!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Brad Jacobs has clinched a playoff berth (still not looking strong, though. Needed two mistakes by USA in 10th end to win).
Great start for Canada today!!!
Brad is winning these games by the skin of his teeth. Compare with Jenny who is dominating
DeletePrice starting tonight. Even more good news! I feel delirious. May be the vodka.
ReplyDeleteThere's a nice shot of Maltais in her Habs jersey as a kid on her instagram (yes, I'm stalking her).
ReplyDeletehttp://instagram.com/dominiquesbx
that is ADORABLE
DeleteCome on Canada! Go for the gold. Babcock, btw, is a fuckin dick!
ReplyDeleteFun fact: Hudec's nickname is Panda, on account of him having a big butt and being furry. As the gays say, he's a bear.
ReplyDeletesome kind of crazy Twitter handle: @pandaHAUSofROCK
DeletePricey in nets according to Twitter.
ReplyDeleteCArey!
DeleteGo CANADA Go!!!
leaf blowers must be spent after that Kessel hattie. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteI was about the post the same thing. Ugh.
DeleteSlovakia Russia scoreless after 2. Iiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting....
Funny, Bode Miller and Jan Hudec tied for bronze. The American absolutely dejected. The Canadian absolutely ecstatic.
ReplyDeleteThis RUS-SVK game is quite good. arena dead quiet
ReplyDeleterefs giving the Russians every chance. 5 straight PPs in the 3rd. HANG ON SLOVAKS
ReplyDeleteScoreless after regulation, no thanks to the refs
ReplyDeleteGo Canada Go!!
ReplyDeleteGo CArey!!!!!!!!!!
RUS-SVK off to a SO
ReplyDeleteI was awake all night, finally shut my eyes around 5:30. I hate when that happens, I'll be dragging my ass all the damn day. Flipping channels, started watching Doc Zone, an episode about counterfeiting. Did you know there are even counterfeit airplane parts? They're freaking everywhere, even our military's herculese has counterfeit computer chips, which were installed at Locheed Martin. Phony parts were also found in Obama's helicopter and airplane. Canada Goose used to have 1 person track down phoney on line sales, now they have like hundreds. There was even counterfeit cancer medecine sold legitimately.
ReplyDeleteIt was like that all week for me. Something about watching thrilling sports till 2am. Luckily I have next week off.
DeleteThey better win this one or Putin won't be happy.
ReplyDeleteRUS wins, Putin doesn't look so thrilled with this effort tho
ReplyDeleteRussia will have to go the extra round. Well, so did Canada in 2010.
ReplyDeleteWatching CBC online which is a god send (every event live!), but the commercials keep freezing, putting me further and further back of the live action. Reload? Well, it starts off with commercials. Which freeze.
ReplyDeleteI just reloaded, and now there's no sound.
ReplyDeleteNot complaining! Compared to other Olympics I'm pretty much like the NSA in Sochi right now, watching, reading and listening to everything.
Gotta agree with Steve, why is +76 held to a different standard? Doughty took a bad penalty holding a jersey, Pietrangelo didn't cover CArey on the goal for said PP. If +76 was there, he would have known CArey's intention. Kunitz hits a guy in the numbers, got a slashing penalty when it should have been 2 +10 and he gets every opportunity. Why does this all sound like deja vu?
ReplyDeleteTwit Hab fans on Twitter "Babcock is an idiot". Really? Get a grip or even better a brain cell or two. FFS, I don't care who sits, I just want gold.
ReplyDeleteThe Dutch sweep another speed skating podium. That's three so far (and predicted to do it again in at least 1 of the last 2 races). 17 medals for them so far, 16 in long track (+1 in short track, the one who got gold tonight). They've won 16/24 medals available in SS so far. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to be a speed skating fan to appreciate this, just a sports fan.
Used to work for a Dutch company, we peons jokingly used to say if you ain't Dutch, you ain't much.
DeleteThat's impressive.
I lived in Amsterdam for a year. At least I think I did. I have pictures, anyway. The point is, that's where I got my name here (I realize it's misspelled, or on purpose). Dutch sport fans are awesome.
Delete* no "or".
DeleteI'm not saying Babcock is perfect, but at least wait until Canada DOESN'T win gold to start flapping yer gums. That's all.
ReplyDeleteI will say my favourite jerseys of the Olympics are the Finns and Norge. Simple and classic.
ReplyDeleteI like our red ones and the Norge too, they remind me a bit of the Rangers with the diagonal name.
DeleteGreen+Black+Yellow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r71JHunY8rI
DeleteCooool.
DeleteI'm with Moey, just win a medal please. That being said, the mediots must be having a fit if Carey is starting.
ReplyDeleteI was actually surprised to see Varlamov back in the Russian net today after the show Bob put on yesterday. Lot of pressure on the Russkies with Putin at every game, they are definitely squeezing their sticks pretty hard and trying to do too much individually.
Jaro looked kind of forlorn on the bench today while that KHL goalie stoned the Russians.
I hope the Yanks get bombed their next game and get sent home early so the cockroaches will shut the fuck up about their favourite team, the US of A with their leaf superstars. Too bad for you Patches.
You're with Moey? (Checks mailbox for invite)
DeleteOnly figuratively speaking of course.
DeleteGo CAnada! Go CArey!
The Chinese can really curl
ReplyDeleteLook to the Asians to take over curling in the next 20 years. China has already moved in. Japan competing. Korea there for the first time, and let me tell you they're getting ready to host in 2018. This sort of thing suits them. Korea dominates archery, and it's not that different.
Deletehahahrudey and heely both wanted Lou in net today.
ReplyDeleteleaf fans.
Deleteheh, mclame says kessel score three for the leaf today. Focus mclame, focus.
ReplyDeleteGo Canada Go!! Go CArey Go!!
ReplyDeleteFuck gta mediots!!
If anyone's interested at all, here are some pics from the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Gorgeous and funny.
ReplyDeletehttp://imgur.com/a/5wWuP
GYFHosersG!!!!
ReplyDeleteThese red jerseys are infinitely better than the black ones. Now I feel like I'm watching Team Canada.
ReplyDeleteScore!
ReplyDeleteWill they allow it?
ReplyDeleteGoal?
ReplyDeletehmm. that was whacky
ReplyDeleteDon't think so.
ReplyDeleteLove this bald ref. Like an evil movie villain
ReplyDeleteNo goal.
ReplyDeleteJacobs steals one in the 9th to tie it. He'll need another steal to win, though.
ReplyDeletehe's scrapping, I'll give him that
Deleteo'man loved your Asian curling thoughts upthread. very perceptive.
ReplyDeleteThat's my forte. Asian fringe sports.
DeleteGood call, actually. It's close, but the right call imo.
ReplyDeleteFuck off komoraov.
ReplyDeleteDoughty does a spinorama from the blule line nothing is said. +76 does it he's cocky and taking too many chances
ReplyDeleteHe's also respected by mike richards.
DeleteCash it.
ReplyDeleteTalking about Korea getting ready for the Olympics, there's an Asian hockey league with teams from Korea, China and Japan. Up until last year there was only one Korean team (a friend lives nearby, went to see a few games). But this year they have four teams, two specifically to prepare for the Olympics. One is made up of military. They are getting ready, and seeing Korea compete in the many of the Olympic sports when they only cared about speed skating (and Kim Yuna) in the past is encouraging.
ReplyDeleteCash it! I feel like there aren't many Canadian fans there.
ReplyDeleteDoughty!
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
ReplyDeleteDoughty! Beauty shot
ReplyDeleteHeh. Fuck the broon!
ReplyDeleteDoughty!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not a lot of Canadian fans in the house.
ReplyDeleteI don't get it. If you break up Crosby and Kunitz, what's the point of Kunitz?
ReplyDeletethat he shouldn't have been picked in the first place, that's the point
DeleteTeam Canada should be wearing Habs jerseys today just to rattle Rask.
ReplyDelete29 gets another look at the bald ref!
ReplyDelete'you can't just assume the goal went into the net underneath him' Unless it's a leaf game of course.
ReplyDeleteCanada steals 2 in the 9th! Wow. China is going in to be some government punishment the way they are falling apart
ReplyDeleteWow! Steal of 2 for Jacobs in the 9th to go ahead.
ReplyDeleteKill it!
ReplyDelete29, stop living my life.
ReplyDeletei like that we both used "wow" in our comments
Delete"Wow" is the only way to describe it. Two steals in a row. 5 points in the last 3 ends.
DeleteWow.
Wow, Juce, you must be way ahead of me. Just getting the PK now.
ReplyDeleteMaple chelsea bun, maple sausages, shot of maple Sortilege in my coffee.
ReplyDeleteJust plain old bacon and eggs, OJ and toast.
ReplyDeleteButter?
DeletePorkchops and mashed potatoes with corn. Hours ago, though. I have a kimbap for a midnight (5am?) snack. kimbap=seaweed roll with tuna, rice and various veggies inside. Better than it sounds.
DeleteJust made a fried egg on toast with cheese. Pork chops for dinner and maybe corn to go with it. Picked up a couple of the new pre-cooked on the cob and just have to nuke 'em a couple minutes, there not too shabby.
DeleteScott and Tessa in first after their skate. The Americans yet to come, as well as one more pair.
ReplyDeleteyou must have a lot of tabs open
DeleteLike I said up above, I am the NSA and the Olympics are a Muslim community. EYES EVERYWHERE.
DeleteLooks like an extra end in curling. But they have hammer.
ReplyDelete(SPOILER OMAN because I think I am ahead of you now as curling is on TSN now)
ReplyDelete8-8, headed to extra end. Jacobs missed to chances at doubles that could have won it.
I have a a couple of chatrooms open in addition to various videos. I have learned to stagger. I may be behind, but shout out to Korean internet connections! 25 bucks a month for unlimited lightning speed. Plus it adds comedy to the Bell commercials.
Deletethe Koreans do tech well
DeleteYou'd think, but this country lives on explorer and codecs. A guy ran for President last election in a bid to change it. You can't do anything here off explorer here.
DeleteI had just flipped over to tsn as scott and tesa were getting their scores. The announcers didn't sound impressed with the score they received (though it was good, should have been more is what i read into their comments)
ReplyDeleteCherry thinks Lalongo will get the net back.
ReplyDeleteTypical setup so that he can claim he knew if it should happen. If it doesn't he clams up. Prefer the latter.
DeleteGo Canada Go!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHamhuis is slow. +76 isn't.
ReplyDeleteAccording to healy all the save by CArey are easy save. Fuck off.
ReplyDeleteChina really making Jacobs work for this game!
ReplyDeleteDraw to the button for the win????????.........................yes!
DeleteWOW. Jacobs draws to the button to win 9-8. WOW.
ReplyDeleteWhat a game! Jacobs comes back to win!
ReplyDeleteGood chance that's a preview of the first round in the semis for Jacobs.
ReplyDeleteOk, attention to hockey now. With an eye to bobsled. And figure skating.
ReplyDeleteAnd vodka.
DeleteI thought I just heard CBC people praising CArey. that can't be right
ReplyDeleteBoy the driver for Canada 3 looks like he belongs as an extra on "Vikings" (2nd season soon!)
ReplyDeleteSrsly look at this guy - https://twitter.com/CDNOlympicTeam/status/435118158970912769/photo/1
DeleteFuck!
ReplyDeleteAck
ReplyDeleteFrakkin' cripes
ReplyDeleteOn a tip. But CBC tries to sell it as him playing it wrong.
ReplyDeleteTrivia question: What Jamaican bobsledder has won an Olympic medal?
ReplyDeleteAnswer: Lascelles Brown. He raced for Jamaica in the 90s, but switched to Canada after marrying one of us. He's won two medals with two different pilots (Pierre Luders and Lyndon Rush).
The point is, the talent is there for the Jamaicans. Just need the program.
And some financial support.
DeleteHere's some green: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r71JHunY8rI
DeleteI miss iRiRi.
If the best we have on the big ice still play like NJ vs Montreal in the slush, what hope is there.
ReplyDeleteIf you can, tune into bobsled for the Dutch sled.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know the US curlers had such bad records.
ReplyDeleteThey gave Canada a run for their money this morning. Both mens and womens.
DeleteI watched the women's. Our gals made one mistake to allow the US to tie it. Always fun to watch Mme. Jones.
DeleteMaybe PFK heard they are not playing with the black today, and did not come to dress. Still gotta say the Finns uniforms are not horrible but last Olympic sweaters better all round. Today I can see the little gay (NTTAWWT, maybe a crossover from figure skating was long overdue) vinyl maple leafs looking like propaganda dandruff on the shoulders.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.canada.com/olympics/news/canadian-bobsledders-wardrobe-malfunction-goes-viral
ReplyDeleteCanada 3 within .08 of the podium in 4th. Last two runs tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTessa and Scott in 2nd after the free skate by 2.5 points.
ReplyDeleteCArey has seen a team in front of him score just one goal.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is, god forbid, this goes to a SO and Canada doesn't score on its 8 first shots, but then Finland does, CBCTSN will spin it as Price's fault.
DeleteEven if they win, Carey won't be good enough.
Deleteheely needs to STFU.
ReplyDeleteIf the game against Austria was a 0 on intensity, and the Russian-American game was a 10, I would rate this as a 3. Canada needs to dial it up.
ReplyDeleteIts Chocula VS Chocula on the coaching end.
DeleteThis should be the 76 Habs playing the 93 Habs, but it's more like the 75 Habs playing the 77 Habs.
ReplyDeleteIs +76 playing? Finally got a feed but haven't seen him yet
ReplyDeleteWhen was this event removed from the games?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evNi4_2qHPY
Not sure if I've ever seen such a boring Olympic game.
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing many actual offensive chances. or, any.
ReplyDeleteDon't remember the last time I saw a SOG.
ReplyDeleteFinland is playing the typical rope-a-dope. They don't care if they score.
ReplyDeleteThis is barely keeping me up at 4am.
ReplyDeletezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....oh wait, did something happen?.........nope...........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
ReplyDeletekudos to the refs, Peel Lee free hockey is good
ReplyDeleteBy my calculations, both Finland and Canada won't have to play that qualification game now. 2nd in this division will be best 2nd.
ReplyDeleteGo Canada Go!!!
ReplyDeletePretty much a repeat of 0-0 Russia/Slovakia. Prevent defence. Lemaire vs. Chokula.
ReplyDeleteTalk about the trap all you want, but I see very little intensity. On either side.
ReplyDeleteoof benn
ReplyDeleteYEAH!!!
ReplyDeleteDoughty!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll take it, though I'm not particularly mpressed
ReplyDeleteDrew doughty...
ReplyDeleteWow cbc actually gave CArey praise for that save.
ReplyDeleteThats a relief did not want to see a SO
ReplyDeletebob nicholson is such a leech.
ReplyDeleteI'm so far behind, haven't even seen it. Waiting for faceoff.
ReplyDeleteThere we go! Doughty! (redundant)
ReplyDeleteIn true wintry Canadian fashion, I am off to snowshoe on Meech Lake. Blue skies, white snow, heart aglow. Be good kidz.
ReplyDeleteall you need is an Accord
DeleteAlrighty then. Who do we play next?
ReplyDeleteThe winner of Switz/Austria....so the Swiss.
DeleteNo Doughty about it!
ReplyDeleteSimpson said Carey might have saved the game with that save. Actually, yes...he did.
Merci as always Moeman!
ReplyDeleteAny idea who Canada plays next (I know it'll be a winner of a qualification game, but which game)?
ReplyDeleteThe winner of Switz/Austria....so the Swiss?
DeleteOr is it Swiitz/Latvia? in any case, probably the Swiss.
DeleteWord is:
ReplyDeleteRussia, Sweden, Finland in one side.
Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Switzerland on one side.
Canada gets winner of Switzerland v Latvia. Canada has had problems with the Swiss. No rematch for gold. But possible Russia v Canada final!
Swiss, USA, Russia / Swe road to the gold. not easy
ReplyDeleteYou gotta beat the best to play the best. Remember Vancouver? Russia in the quaters and a blowout.
DeleteGood day for Canada. 2 medals, curlers won their games, bobsled is just out of medals halfway, Tessa and Scott barely out of 3rd. Things are looking up.
ReplyDelete*Tessa + Scott just out of 1st.
Delete@GinoRedaTSN: True Drew Doughty is the hero, but if not for Carey Prices huge save just seconds before it never happens. Win means avoiding Rus in QF's
ReplyDelete@jamiemclennan29: Carey Price not busy today, 15 shots against and 6 scoring chances but no better save than on Salo in OT, that's Clutch,
ReplyDeleteIf 60 min was every anything but a mouth for the MAN, its no longer the case. My HOC marathon will end in 47 min.
ReplyDeleteGO CANADA GO, I am glad we did not get a a bi straight to the semies that would be so anal.
