  6. Took longer that i thought, but i had dvr'd the 3rd. Started watching, went to 3-2 so i came on scrolled down til i saw the pfk!!!'s so i kept watching. Great ending.

For the record that linesman i thought was a monster is. It's 6'9" Mike Civic. But he's 51 so maybe not the best fit for the Habs.

Great game. Too bad the wretched leaf got a point.

  7. So glad Saint Paddy's nightmare didn't come to fruition! PFK is fine and the leafs ate shit.

  8. Just finished watching the game (thanks NHL Gamecenter!)

    From TorontoSportsNetwork:

"Along the way were unusual penalties, including two delay of game calls against the Leafs and one against Budaj."

They weren't unusual. They're standard automatic penalties that have been called hundreds of times.

"There were plenty of Leafs fans at Bell Centre, but the atmosphere didn't peak until the third period."

Really? The fans seemed very very loud during the first when the Habs were up 2-0 and dominating. Interesting how everytime the leaf plays in Montreal these guys have to mention (several times, as HNIC did tonight) that there are tons of leaf fans there, yet in Toronto I never really hear anything about it.

"In their past seven games, Kessel has six goals and eight assists, while van Riemsdyk has five goals and six assists. The Leafs are 6-1-1 in their last eight games."

No mention of hot Hab players, or the fact that Montreal is on a hotter streak (5-0-1, or 7-1-2).

Oh, by the by, how can the leaf be 6-1-1 in their last 8 when this was their second OT loss in a row? A quick look at their sched tells me they are actually 5-1-2 in their last 8. I guess they already gave this W to their leaf and forgot to change it.

They write whatever they want. Like moe has said many times there is no accountability for the leaf blowing mediots. Love it when their shit team loses.

  9. And reading through the comments here, I see Saint Paddy mentioned some of the more egregious remarks by the blue and white ball sucking HNIC crew. They're leaf love is nothing new, but it was during the Olympics when they were actively cheering for American players OVER Canada as a team that it really disgusted me. Reading online, even leaf fans were disgusted and embarrassed.

Maybe Kessel has so many scoring opportunities because he literally does nothing else on the ice. He hangs around his own blue line when the other team is attacking waiting for a break, he stands around in the attacking zone without moving much, waiting for a lucky bounce or rebound while his teammates do most of the work. As much as JVR is overrated due to his jersey, at least he plays somewhat hard. Celine really is a pylon, though. It's laughable.

    2. phil is the typical hack/hog that just parks himself at the blue or red line and waits. Not denying he is a sniper but he's the kind of selfish slob that most teammates can't stand. Bonus, he disappears in big games.

  10. Holy crap. From professional leaf sucker Brophy at our "National Broadcaster":

Maple Leafs surviving through post-Olympic lull

"The Toronto Maple Leafs are losers of their first two post-Olympic games and yet they have put two points in the bank.

That makes them .500 in the two games. Thank goodness for overtime losses."

And no, if you're new and wondering, there is no articles on the team that won or the teams that will play an outdoor game, or any other Canadian team at all.

  11. Just finished watching the game on game centre myself. Any night that ends in a leaf loss is a great night indeed. The leaf sucking by cole wax pretty hard to listen to though...makes me yearn for rods at times. Merci pour la creme glacé Moeman. A prochain

  13. "I don't want to start going through this whole thing again," said Luongo, who has yet to start for the Canucks since returning from the Olympics. "I've always wanted to play in an outdoor game so I was excited when I saw that we got one this year. I was looking forward to it."
I feel bad for him, he should get the start.

  15. Incredible that the cockroaches have both heely and bjsuck on their idiot team/panel, simultaneously. Add a lunkhead like kypreos and all the scum at snet and it gets so much dumber moving forward it hurts.

bjsuck showed incredible stupidity at the end of the game last night regarding Bernier's delay of game. I can't see sportsnet bringing him aboard when they have one lunkhead (Kypreos) already. Heely has already been hired is my understanding. The usual suspects at the G&M were whining about the reffing in the comments last might and this morning.

    2. lame lemming lunkhead loser leaf fans will always find an excuse and then look to have the existing NHL rules changed to their benefit, only to have it smack them in the face like a trout slap. : )

  18. Dr Drew on waviers, making room for NB007. What is interesting is that PFK is the only right handed defenseman we have. I mean talk about missing the big picture.
Hey DGMB does anyother NHL club have only one left handed defenceman, lets make a trade.

  22. I love Peter Budaj. He really is the most underrated goalie in the league. But it's his attitude that wins me over the most. In a recent article by Dave Stubbs he had this to say: “I just need to try to help the team win a game,” he said, again rerouting praise coming his way. “You don’t want to play for the number on the back (of your jersey), you want to play for the logo on the front." Sign this guy for life!

Now someone I'm not loving as much any more - Lego! He really needs to start playing for the crest - because whatever the fuck funk he is in has got to end - I blame the coach for completely mis managing him...but he needs to show he is better than the coach and score goals no matter who he has playing on his line. That's what true great hockey players do.

Seems reluctant to shoot when he has a chance. Just throw it at the net.

    2. I agree Lego is a few bricks short of being a thrid line center. His defence is still there but his offense has evaporated. Playing with Barbecue and an AHL player may be part of the equation. But in contrast look what Vampire Dan has done with worse circumstances.

  23. Budda will be traded to the wild for Matt Dumba. DGMG is fed up with eMTy. He sees the system as let TFS or Budda win the game. So he will take away the safety net. The only condition is that Dumba change his last name to Deshhardies.
