There is no urgent desire to make a trade so there will not be a trade of significance made. I've said i for some time now...as long as the coach remains nothing will change. He'll report to DGMB that "all's well - we just need to work harder"...or some stupid shit like that...,and then nothing will happen. None of the smurfs will move, the Habs might just squeak into the playoffs but then they will be pushed off onto the golf course when we get to the serious end of the season by a team less talents but bigger and stronger and with a coach who understands that goal scorers only score goals when they are on the ice.
They won't trade Lego would they? He is the big center we have been looking for .... right? How can a guy go from scoring five goals to looking confused. Go Habs
The mediots figure Price is out longer than expected. I think Booty is being moved. Maybe that's just me not wanting to admit that TFS is out for a lengthy time.
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Preds eat part of Dubnyk's salary in deal to Habs Nashville Preds trade Devan Dubnyk to Montreal for futures @JohnLuTSNMtl: #Habs acquisition of Dubnyk from Nashville is presumably insurance in the event Budaj gets hurt while Price is recovering.
We are stocked full to bursting with D men, so we make a trade for one We are stacked full to bursting with Goalies, so we trade for one We are stacked full and bursting with smurf forwads, expect us to pick up the smallest guy in the NHL soon
Its like when someone buys the first round of drinks and then you're on the hook the next one(s). Depends how much of a lush your trading partner is (see those of Irish decent).
Hard to believe the likes of Bourque, Moen, Boullion, etc haven't been pryed from BurgerVan's mighty grip.
I read that Dubnyk was put on waivers earlier in the week. But we'll give up what? A fifth (of whiskey)? There have been some great 5th round picks....hardly any by the Habs, kidG excepted. My draft year the Habs picked Steve McCool. What a great name. I'm just going to start referring to our resident Steve as McCool.
Slow trade day, go figure. Gives the mediots a chance to diss the Habs. mike johnson actually mouthed that the 'Habs are slipping in the standings'. WTF? Also, whiteboy pang (aka gretzky this and gretzky that ad infinitum) is still on the air.

I know it's sad when we lose a loved one, but could BurgerVan's M-i-L's funeral not have been delayed a day? It'd be awkward sitting next to your wife at her mother's funeral texting about work.
That said, they're talking Vanek to the Habs. I assume it's Lego +.
It's fun watching these guys choke on this news while the wretched leaf do NOTHING. They can barely string a sentence together about it. Just imagine had Vanek gone to the leaf.
They're going to say they tried but the fish just wouldn't bite on prince$$ and clark$son and because he mis-managed the cap they have zero dinero and couldn't do nada, but we still milk our lemming fans because you mediots really help us in that department.
If that's what he actually said then he's going to be fav! I think he'll certainly be useful, especially if the coach realises that he has more goals than any other current Hab not named Max and so he should play 18- 20 minutes a game...
He has great potential, but is an unknown commodity at the NHL level. Well worth the risk in my mind. I had a feeling Vanek would be a Hab but didn't put it out there because it's so infeasible that Burgervan would make a statement trade like that. I'm not adverse to signing him to a big contract if he wants to stay. I've always liked his game.
mediots probably had all kinds of video montages, collages, frontages, camouflages, decoupages and most importantly mirages made of various players becoming leaf. Tabula rasa fuckers.
I can say with authority a 30 year old Austrian is like a 20 year old Canadian. Most Austrians do not finish school until they are thirty. There is a percipient rumor Vanek a UFO wants to play for the Wild.
Wow, they gave up Collberg for Vanek, although reports say he's not lighting it up in the Swedish mens league and didn't do much in the last WJC. Oh well, De La Rose had moved past him in the depth chart and you have to give up something to get something.
Maybe Vanek will consider re-signing in Montreal if they have a decent run in the playoffs. eMTy will give him a test right off the bat - spell "backcheck".
Chester, Vanek has better chance at cup in Montreal than with Wild, they have a defenceman named Dumba, no chance he does not make a stupid play that costs them a playoff round. http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/latest-news/2013/11/27/5152210/magnus-nygren-heading-back-to-sweden
Cap is going up to $71M next year. Habs currently have $27M of Cap Space. We let Gionta, Parros, Bouillon, Murray walk.
We pay a bit more to resign Weisse, White, Eller, Weaver. Let’s say $7M for them combined. They currently make $4M combined so that should be feasible. Beaulieu is an extra $900 k if becomes a regular.
That gives us $19M to resign Subban, Markov, & Vanek. Doable. If Space is needed, move one of Bourque or Briere to free up an extra $2M. More than enough to ensure the numbers work for all three.
That would give us (in no particular order):
Vanek – Plekanec – Briere Pacioretty – Desharnais – Gallagher Bourque – Eller – Galchenyuk Prust – White – Weisse Moen, Bournival extra
That looks pretty good to me. Then the year after with Bourque/Briere gone, Tinordi/Beaulieu with more experience under their belt, we move from very good to potential contenders.
I also expect our goalie coach can turn Doobie around, maybe get him a vapourizer. I think Budda has proven he can be a starter, Toker may be a good backup, Doobie may rebound and we have fucker waiting to take over. Not bad not bad
I wonder if Vanek, a Euro, would learn to like Montreal, whom mclame referred to as the Paris of North America? Got to better than Minneapolis-St. Paul you would think. Maybe Big TiTs could come over and give him a tour of all the better strip clubs.
iinsideredger would look better with mud on his face.
ReplyDeleteSign that this TradeCenter is going to be a horrible 6 hours: TSN just had a guy on the show singing "The Ballad of Bobby Luuu"

Will Marty arrive in time to hurt the leaf tonight? Stay tuned....

ReplyDeletePaulie has called an election, here's our chance to trade out Marois.
ReplyDeleteJust Do It (swoosh)
Hemsky to Sens for bag of pucks
ReplyDeleteCorry Conocher who the Sens got for Bishop was claimed by Buffalo when he was put on waviers. Talk about a one sided trade.
ReplyDeleteBlockbuster Budda, DDD and Patches to Panthers, Huberdeau and Tim Tomas to Montreal
ReplyDeleteNo one wants Lego, everyone has moved on to megablocks
ReplyDeleteDevan Dubnyk eh? Call me Dubious. Is Budaj on his way to Vancouver with Lego for Edler?
ReplyDeletemy thoughts exactly Paddy

DeleteDubnyk to Montreal

Dubnyk assigned to Hamilton.

ReplyDeleteLego scratched, Steve in panic mode.
DeleteDiazling a Rag, his head must be spinning.
a remember a time long ago some kind of egg line dominating who was that big center? WTF is the organization doing with Lego.

Sounds like Vanek may be a Hab. Will need a nickname.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Vanek the guy how left in Sochi not even waiting for his team?
ReplyDelete*who*
DeleteMaybe RBQ is going too.
ReplyDeleteNeed a nickname for Vanak. Since he is here to stiffin up our scoring how about Viagra
ReplyDeleteSecond round pick for Vanek and a prospect....Beaulieu?
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not Tinordi.
DeleteLebrun says 2nd rounder and a prospect. Who's the prospect?
ReplyDeleteBut still, scoring!!!!
TheBrown says a 2nd and a prospect for Vanek. I'll say Greg Pateryn or Louis Leblanc.
ReplyDeleteIt's 2 round pick and a prospect.
ReplyDeleteFuck off Pang. "Vanek's too big for Montreal."
ReplyDeleteIt's fun watching these guys choke on this news while the wretched leaf do NOTHING. They can barely string a sentence together about it. Just imagine had Vanek gone to the leaf.

Deleteall the players wanted to come to Toronto but we are very particular about whose cock is going to be sucked by TSN.

ReplyDeleteDDD just grew another two inches, Max and Vanek on his wings, holy fuck!
ReplyDeleteKidG moves with PleXXX amd gCHuk. Gio moves to the third line.
who is third line center? gCHuck Danny Beer?
DeleteWhen asked by TSN’s James Duthie why the Habs might need him, Dubnyk responded: “I imagine they’d need me for stopping pucks.”
ReplyDeleteI suddenly like him. Dubie.
DeleteIf that's what he actually said then he's going to be fav! I think he'll certainly be useful, especially if the coach realises that he has more goals than any other current Hab not named Max and so he should play 18- 20 minutes a game...
DeleteAnd I'm clearly mixing up who I am talking about. Dubie stops pucks...Vanek scores goals apparently...
DeleteApparently Collberg is the prospect.
ReplyDeleteOuch! high rent
DeleteI think I can live with it. Would have been pissed for Tinordi or Bealieu
DeleteDamn, didn't he win the equivalent of the Norris in Europe?
Deletejuce that was the guy who was scared to live in Hamilton. Colberg was our top rated forward equal to our top rated D prospect Belivieu/
DeleteHe has great potential, but is an unknown commodity at the NHL level. Well worth the risk in my mind. I had a feeling Vanek would be a Hab but didn't put it out there because it's so infeasible that Burgervan would make a statement trade like that. ReplyDeleteJaro playing for Washington, hope we do not meet them in playoffs would that not be ironic
ReplyDeleteOK let's get serious here (ha!):
ReplyDeletegCHuk-PleXXXe-Vanek
PatCHes-DDD-KidG
is that right? nice top6. Gio a 3rd line winger
Vanek on TSN "I'm excited"
Barbi Lego and Giant is not a bad shutdown line
DeleteSorry I see above the M had Vanek with DDD and patCHes. that works for me too
DeleteI like your line better lets see what Superplexxe can do with talent, plus Kid G can carry around DDD on his shoulders in set plays.
DeleteI can say with authority a 30 year old Austrian is like a 20 year old Canadian. Most Austrians do not finish school until they are thirty. There is a percipient rumor Vanek a UFO wants to play for the Wild.

he is pretty solid in the playoff as well. Colberg is at least two year from NHL, we could have two cups by then
DeleteDe La Rose has passed Colberg and he was the one to run away from Hamilton.
DeleteI don't think Vanek will stay. He wants to win the cup.
Go Habs
Chester, Vanek has better chance at cup in Montreal than with Wild, they have a defenceman named Dumba, no chance he does not make a stupid play that costs them a playoff round.
Deletehttp://www.habseyesontheprize.com/latest-news/2013/11/27/5152210/magnus-nygren-heading-back-to-sweden
The Swede who didn't like Hamilton was D Magnus Nygren. De La Rose was dynamite at the WJC and is bigger and plays tougher than Collberg.
DeleteSo RBQ is like our 10th or 11th forward now?
ReplyDeleteSo Garth Snow lost Matt Moulson, and a first round draft pick and got back a second round pick prospect and a second round pick. GM of the year.
ReplyDelete@TSNBobMcKenzie: RT @StapeNewsday: 2nd rounder from MTL is not conditional. If Canadiens make the playoffs, #Isles send a 5th-round pick back.
ReplyDeleteVanack dogdig question of signing with Montreal.
ReplyDeleteStupid question to ask him, he has even played a game here or spoken to his family.
Deleteit would have been better if he said " yes and I will take a Montreal discount"
DeleteSo I would assume Vodkov will be staying.
ReplyDeletethats why they call it the trade deadline:)
DeleteI am reading Lego is sitting because they want to play Parros? Bullshit, classy move but why Lego.
ReplyDeleteLet’s look at the long term:
ReplyDeleteCap is going up to $71M next year. Habs currently have $27M of Cap Space. We let Gionta, Parros, Bouillon, Murray walk.

Weaver extra
Price / Budaj
That looks pretty good to me. Then the year after with Bourque/Briere gone, Tinordi/Beaulieu with more experience under their belt, we move from very good to potential contenders.
