  1. Hello playoffs, my old friend
The Habs have come to play again
    Because DGMB was reaping
While douchebag Nonis he was sleeping
And now the sound of mediot splooging
    Still remains
    Within the sound of silence

...it's a beautiful thing. Somebody with more talent can fix the end of that but you get the jist.

  2. suck it Leaf!

I know that's not very eloquent for a smart lawyer type like me, but it's what I feel

  8. I was looking at capgeek, gCHyuk has 'sr' (slide risk) beside his name, can someone tell me what that means? A few others show this too.

  9. At the fan 590 website the Leaf fans are split 50/50 on Noniss. You cant be serious
    The princess contact
    The bolland trade
    the Grabovski buy out
    the Bozak contract
    The wendel clarkson contract

  10. No one, except a couple million losers in COTU gives a flying fuck about the leaf. Ten years without playoff hockey (last season was not a full year!) and 47 without a Cup - outside of COTU - NOBODY CARES!

Moeman - love the Pic o' the day!

I'm expecting a letdown tonight - it shouldn't matter too much except that you never want to go into the playoffs on a losing note, so no point starting now.

    Go Habs Go!!

  11. Some bizarre stuff going on with Jaro. Should be instructive going forward with PFK and Lego.

    Apparently leaf fans are outraged...
Wonder why. Looked to me like typical leaf year.
Start off by planning the parade.
    Play with truculence.
    Start to fade.
One month before the end of season bring on serious tankage.
Hold out hope till the inevitable elimination.
Fire everybody. Throw away draft picks.
Bring in more derps for next season so the cycle can continue.
    sheeesh...
    Go Habs

    1. there is not a team more fucked in the NHL than the leaf. They are long term fucked. Its another decade before they make the playoffs

There is not one player in the leaf so-called "core" that I would call a leader. Not Pylon, not phatphil, not Bozo, loophole or wendelson. They are fucked with the majority of those losers locked up long term. When I look at the Habs they have two veterans that know how to lead a team, Gionta and Markov, both 35 year olds who may not be as productive anymore but still play hard. I might even throw a 30 year old Plekanec in the mix. That is what the leaf is lacking and, God willing, will for a long time.

    3. I could lead a team and i would to it for 1k, Somebody please take me up on this opportunity.

  13. Apparently Bishop has two bad wrists. Somebody will have to fill in, oh the humanity.

  14. I am an anomoly and I have a conundrum. I have a gambling addiction, but I'm too cheap to gamble. Fortunately, I also have a hockey pool addiction which stems my gambling urges most of the time. So, I'm in the TSN predictor pool, currently sitting in 3rd place. It's the pool where you pick a winner each night and the longest streak for the month wins and gets $1000 and then there's a 1 in 6 shot for each of the winners to win a car. I'd love to take a grand and a car from those fuckers. So the leader blew his load on the broons last night and his streak ended at 12. There is a guy with 10. Me and another guy at 9. There's also a bonus question which I don't usually play because it's generally a crap shoot. Tonight for example "Who will get more points tonight Thornton/Burns or Getzlaf/Perry?" The gut tells me Getz/Perry but too close to call. I never do, but was going to go against the Habs tonight considering the personnel they left home. But I won't. Can't.
Probably end up taking the Kings over the Flames.

    GyMFHG!

Getzlaf/Perry --- never hurts to pick the home team/players.

No Toews and Kane for the 'Hawks, Habs have a shot.

Flames coming off a road trip, home team usually flops the first game back home.

      That's my take. FWIW.

    2. Where is the buzz, beating the odds is an odd high. I have gambled, and I have been high, and high beats the dice 9 times out of ten.

    3. Of course, then there's the BJ's. They already have a 1-0 lead before the game starts.

The sick fuck mediots are hockey fans.

  18. Where does tsn get the idea that "habs fans may want to welcome leaf fans to their bandwagon"? They can all fuck off.

  21. So I foolishly thought with the elimination of the leaf TSNCBC could start talking about, you know, HOCKEY instead of their beloved leaf 24/7. Of course I was wrong. Less than 24 hours after their heroes completed their self-destruction, suddenly there's "credible" rumors that Shannahan is on his way to the GTA.

Let's call a spade a spade. There's nothing behind this. It's more media sucking off MLSE, trying to convince fans to stick around. Every time there's a big free agent name, TSNCBC declares he's practically playing for the leaf already. And wasn't Gretzky desperate to work for the leaf just a couple of months ago? So they said, anyway.

It's pathetic and transparent. And idiot leaf fans are eating it up, just as they planned. Let's just be grateful these morons stick to sports instead of applying their propaganda to politics.

    1. Yup, not even 24 hours after their ELIMINATION. Sounds like tampering with an NHL HQer who should be concentrating on doing his fucking job instead of taking loowinkiy's fucking MLSE calls.

Former Saint John Sea Dog Tomas Jurco has scored for the Red Wings. He was a N31 fave if I remember correctly.

  25. Yep, front and centre on the tsn page is the shanahan 'story'. I don't really care what he does, but what human in their right mind would want to be part of that shit show anyway?

Jeebus, they're all douchebags on 'the panel'. Crap question with crap options about the Pac'D Van line name.

  26. Hope it's just precautionary keeping gCHuk out.

  40. well I left the bar it was 0-0 and it's 2-2. so at least I didn't cost us a point

  41. Too bad the Hawks have played a perfect game with no infractions in order to allow any PPs. Some would say that's impossible, but whatever.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh well. Take the point.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Solid game sans three big defensive pieces.

  44. the Maritimer10:09 PM

Too bad, Budah gave up such a crappy goal, they got a point though.

  45. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Oh well, got a point.

  46. the Maritimer10:14 PM

We learned that Montreal can play with those guys, like moe said - no Price, Vodkov or (Y). Good effort, Budah shit the bed on that last goal.

  47. Magic number for home ice is down to 3. A combination of Habs earning 3 pts with the Bolts losing 3 pts will give them home ice in the first round.

    ReplyDelete
  48. That was a heart-breaker ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wings tie it up late. Go Wings. I think they 'could' take down the poohbears.

    1. Yeah, but the more they win, the less likely they are to face them in the first round.

  51. Oh no, gCHyuk is on crutCHes!

  52. Devils are eliminated.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If the Habs play in Chicago, does TSN make a sound? Currently there are 10 videos on TSN's front page. 5 are for a team that isn't even playing today, has no new news and isn't even in the playoffs. I'll let you guess who they are. Three others are for the Nucks who actually did do something today by bringing in Trevor Linden. One is about the Jets (ok) and another is 'general', but basically about the Nucks again.

So there's one Canadian team that played today and nothing about them. It's like it didn't even happen. Because there must be another way to write "Shannohan definintely, totally, 100% coming to Toronto!"*

*In that someone in a leaf jersey yelled out at him, "Hey, Shanny! Come work in Toronto!" while he was walking to work in NY and he just laughed in response. This qualifies as "In talks".

    ReplyDelete
  54. Interesting, now CLB and DET are tied in points, with CLB holding the tie breaker. I actually hope CLB will play PIT because I think they match up better against them, while I think DET has a better shot at ousting the broons. Actually CLB is now tied with PHI with a game in hand. PHI v BOS could be interesting, they could pummel each other into the ground.

CLB has had the hardest schedule these last two weeks and they're doing very well. Games 8/12 nights, and 4/5 to end the season, mostly against playoff teams.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Also just noticed that the Caps have been eliminated, too. So the East teams are set, it's just a matter of placement.

      Delete
    2. All of this info would have been helpful if, say, a national sports network presented it instead of posting 16 different (fake) articles about something no one cares about, and I will reiterate is fake to begin with.

      Delete
  55. Just for shits and giggles, if the NHL was still structured like it was last year, the Habs would likely be facing the Rangers in the first round (or possibly the Phlyers) with home ice clinched already.

Washington, NJ, Toronto, Ottawa and Carolina would still be battling for the last 2 playoff spots (because CLB and DET would be in the West).

Of course since we have a different schedule this year, it's doubtful every team would have that same amount of points in this hypothetical universe. But it's still interesting, and shows just how pathetically weak the East is (Either CLB or DET would miss the playoffs with 93-95 points, while TB would get home ice with that and a team like the leaf could get in with 85-ish)

  56. BAH! Damn you Flamers! My dreams have been dashed.

  58. !THIS IS THE OFFICIAL GALCHENYUK SPECULATION POST!

Please throw out your completely ill-informed speculation and rumours on how long Galchenyuk will be out for.

Bonus point if your post starts with….
    Dr Rechii
    “I heard someone on twitter say…” +1
“Well my friend is a doctor and he thinks….” +2
    “Sportsnet is reporting…” +3

    ReplyDelete
  59. So TSN has declared the broons have clinched the President's Trophy. Except they're not yet.

    BOS 114 currently
ANA 112 + 4 more potential pts = 116 (also tied at 50 for ROW)
    STL 111 + 6 = 117
    COL 109 + 6 = 115

I think TSN is prematurely McSploogin in their old age.

    ReplyDelete
  60. gCHyuk won't be ready for the playoffs and maybe not even round 1.
