DeleteButtman is no hurry to bring back The No-Dicks.
DeleteThe LA New York final was nirvana for him.
Fuck Canada, more people in the republic of Kali.
Where the fuck is The Ville anyway??
Sheeesh
Go Habs
Wonderful SF Moeman, only hockey news in town.
ReplyDeleteEvery death this seaon on GOT Make them fly mommy.
ReplyDeleteNice. Hell of a season.
Deletethe jaunty music really makes the vid
DeleteRumour has it Sather was disappointed - he thought he had an easy deal in place for Richards. Picked up the phone and called the Habs front office looking for Bob Gainey, figuring it was a lock to send Richards and a no-name minor leaguer to Montreal for Tinordi, Eller and change in return. He was shocked and confused when DGMB answered the phone and told Slats to hang up an dial #7263.
ReplyDelete+1
Deletethis was outstanding SP. i may be hungover, but it really made me laugh
DeleteGreat SF Moeman. Happy summer solstice to everyone. Aveeeery long day in the UK as their soccer team is out of the World Cup. I always liken them to the leaf. Haven't won fuck all since 1966 yet every year "this is our year. We are gonna win the lot. We are the best" Fucking deluded and with no hope!
ReplyDeleteAlmost forgot...way to go Pointu!
ReplyDeleteWonder what would happen if the leaf managed to shed Princess Pylon's contract, then targeted PK for an offer sheet? The Habs/leaf blogs would light up like a Saturn 5 rocket taking off no doubt.
ReplyDeleteyou need a good internet lawyer because the Toronto Star is calling Tomas Vanek, Tomas Vanish.
DeleteLots of chatter about PFK being traded to avoid an offer sheet nightmare from Philties.
DeleteI doubt PFK would ever sign with the Philthys. They already tried that shit with Shea Weber and Paul Holmgren isn't the GM anymore. Comcast has to be running out of money anyway. That same article in the Star mentioned Philthy might even buy out Vinnie. Holy fuck, what an insult if he got bought out two years in a row.
DeletePaul Holmgren is not the GM in Philthy anymore. Comcast must be running out of money by now.
DeleteThat's weird. Thought my first post didn't show up. Ignore the second one.
DeletePernell Fucking Karl isn't going anywhere, I don't think DGMB would even contemplates the idea.
DeleteGallant to the Panthers, tough loss for the Habs. Wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteThe Habs are going to miss him a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if they take a step back next season as I personally believe Gallant was more responsible for this past season's success than eMpTy. MB will ultimately regret that four year extension. The good news is, Torterella got a 5 year deal and was fired after one. So there is hope.
DeleteHabs are a coach making maCHine. Bonne Chance Gerry.
DeleteRDS was already having a field day when he was considered for Florida and said this was MT's chance to get a francophone to replace him and didn't even say what a HUGE loss it would be if he left. Agree with the M, Gallant had muCH to do with the success last season.
DeleteOn that note, Bonne fete St Jean Baptiste day weekend, all. A holiday's is always a good thing, yet in this case, I think you have to take it on the day it falls..
MONTREAL -- Marc Bergevin's statement following the announcement of Gerard Gallant as the head coach of the Florida Panthers.
Delete“Obviously we are disappointed to see an individual like Gerard Gallant leave our organisation, but on behalf of the management team and the entire coaching staff I would like to wish Gerard the best of luck as the new head coach of the Florida Panthers. Over the past two years, Gerard has been a valuable asset for us and contributed to the success of our team”, said general manager Marc Bergevin.
Actually, I was thinking (hoping) that DGMB would do pretty muCH the same as he did with Dudley, give him permission to talk and then tell he could have what he wants to stay.
DeleteDGMB has CH class written all over him. This my FHFriends is a sign that we should all CHerish. Lesser teams will poach from the best.
DeleteSo the french bigots at RDS were trashing Gerard Gallant? Fuck them.
DeleteWell, they weren't trashing per se, just lining up his replacement before he was even gone. Sick bastards, they will always be Diques at heart.
DeleteFFS, can't they come up with some damn other team to open with other than the leaf?
ReplyDeleteFor the sixth consecutive season the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens will battle on the opening night of the NHL season.
The entire schedule has yet to be announced, but the league released the dates for all 30 home openers Saturday and confirmed games will kick off the 2014-15 season on Wednesday, October 8.
The Leafs open the season on Oct. 8 at the Air Canada Centre against the Canadiens, while across the country the Calgary Flames host the Vancouver Canucks at the ScotiaBank Saddledome.
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=455401
At least our home opener will be the broons.
DeleteHappy Summer everyone!!
ReplyDeleteYou too the M. Last few days have been near perfect!
Deletehttp://www.metafilter.com/140112/A-hue-angle-of-270-degrees-a-saturation-of-50-and-a-lightness-of-40
ReplyDeletevery inside baseball, part of the worm that makes Robins full
DeleteI have just read of the Gallant signing. I know nothing about the GOT aspects of coaching in the NHL. But I expect it is the assistant coaches that had to handle the mortars the eMTey fired daily. I believe that coaches in every pro sport treat the players like slabs of meat. Its old school and maybe there is a better way. However the LA cups confirm players hare just meat sacks.
ReplyDeleteI am NOT a happy camper, I see hnic showing some Habs games, but nothing for RDS. How the hell am I going to see the games? In fact, I only see TV stations listed for about half the bloody games.
ReplyDeletehttp://canadiens.nhl.com/club/schedule.htm?season=20142015&gameType=2&navid=DL|MTL|home
DeleteI suspect dividing up the TV viewing rights hasn't been sorted out yet. I know RDS gets some regional games, TSN Habs will get some and TVA Sports will get a share as well. They're probably all playing marbles to sort it out.
DeleteThanks the M. Hopefully things get back to 'normal'.
DeleteUGH!
ReplyDeletehttp://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=723334
Whats Montreal in German?
ReplyDeleteHabsburg (seen on the internets)
Okay Draft excitement starting to build. Will PFK go to Panthers for Huberdau and their first? Will we draft best available player or take Brendan Lemiux at 26? Will the leaf get the player they rated as number one overall with the 7th pick?
ReplyDeleteWho will screw up more screwy Noniss or Garth Snow?
PFK is here to stay!
DeleteI have one prediction. Ragnar Lothbrook will fall to #15 where he will become a star for the Redwings for many years to come.
DeleteNot a prediction but would love to see Swede Adrian Kempe picked by the Habs. Not sure he'll last to #26. But I think it's a sign, since that's the Little Viking's number (wasn't it?).
I was actually thinking Gallant might try to get some of his former Memorial Cup winning Sea Dogs to go along with Huberdeau. Beaulieu, Jurco, and Galiev are all out there to be had for the right price. The Habs will take the No. 1 pick for N8. Ekblad with PK would be awesome for years to come.
DeleteI have been reading that as well Gallant loves NB. I have read Ekbad is not a slam dunk, especailly on the score sheet. For sure he does not have NB wheels and few do.
Deletethe trade of NB for EKblad does make some organizational sense. We are overstocked on defense, someone has to go. On most teams EKbald is going to play but we could hold him back a year, give him some AHL time and then plug him in for the cup win.
DeleteThe Philadelphia Flyers have traded forward Scott Hartnell to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for forward R.J. Umberger and a 2015 fourth-round pick, the Flyers announced on Monday.
ReplyDeleteThere hasn't been a fleecing like that since Sather dumped the Mexican't on the Goat and Gainey.
DeleteColumbus is playing the lottery
DeleteBREAKING: Vodkov signed for another 3 years!
ReplyDelete$5,750,000 /YR per Cap Geek.
DeleteGood for you, Vodkov.
Great news, a little steep but thats life in Habsburg! I would say another thing that is going to make negotiations with PFK difficult or maybe easier. Knowing Mtl has been loyal to Vodkov might dial up the hometown discount.
DeleteNice. I don't mind this one bit. He deserves it and deserves to retire a Hab (or be traded at a deadline if he doesn't have a no trade clause).
DeleteI'm beyond okay with this deal. Same cap hit and sure, that 3rd year is risky but the FA pickings are slim and none of the kids can step into his skates right now. Hab4life! GYFHG!!!
DeleteYAY!!! Great signing, he's as good as or better than Dan Boyle, who will get large from somebody. Probably Nonis.
DeleteGreat signing!
DeleteI concur with the above sentiments
DeleteFinally, Pat Burns in the HHIOF!
ReplyDeletelong overdue, and typical of the NHL they could not do it while he was alive Jebezus!
DeleteGreat news.
DeleteAmen. Three years and a death too late, but about fucking time
DeleteI listened to the Panthers' presser and I have never heard so much from Gallant. Just makes me like him even more.
ReplyDelete"I knew before the season was over I'd like to stay with the Montreal Canadiens, so I'm happy the deal was done and I'm looking forward now. I feel like I'm at home here. I feel comfortable. I'd like to stay for the rest of my career. I've never known (free agency), but it doesn't matter. I'm happy with that deal."
ReplyDeletethis is a guy we could have hardballed. And I love that we just did concesis
DeleteThe only way we win the cup is with the hockey Gods. Every player in the NHL today can score a highlight goal. Case in point Fankie Boo. Its all in the mind my friends. Its all in the team. Its all in the coaches belief, and the system is the antchrist.
ReplyDeletefor my Jewish friends its like you do not want King Herod making the line changes.
DeleteRe Burns in the Hall, amazing news. Also named: Hasek, Modano, Foppa, Rob Blake. I think Blake is stretching it (he has longevity and some numbers, but when you think of great players, do you think of Rob Blake?), but otherwise an amazing class
ReplyDeleteOur boys have Olympuic rings!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thescore.com/news/525747
*Olympic*
DeleteI dont know if it means anything but PFK has been seen dressing in pastels, reading powerboat magazines and asks to be called Rico PK.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll be wearing pastels in Vegas tonight.
DeleteThree day growth on his face?
DeleteActually, he's wearing an orange suit, maybe he's a fan of OITNB. Kevin Weekes asked him who the designer was while they were on the red carpet.
DeleteCongrats Genie, keep it going!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this girl is looking for a new team to cheer for?
ReplyDeleteFuelco is one naughty little mascot.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/worldcup2014/video-1101053/World-Cup-mascot-Fuleco-Armadillo-dirty-dances-girls.html
NHL Awards show was pretty good. Strombo gave a good shot at the beginning for the Habs run and how they were the only Canadian team and Sidney etc.., but 'I guess they might have been a little tired from winning gold". Babcock seemed to like that one.
ReplyDeleteAlso, told the Norris finalists that whoever wins gets to come back next year and be the back-stage reporter, just like PK and since he's in negotiations, if it doesn't work out, he'll have something to fall back on.
DeleteGuess I won't need to buy NHL15 just for the sake of it.
ReplyDeleteI think Cuba Gooding Jr was drunk and/or high. And that's not a bad thing. "Hey quit grabbing my ass!" Good stuff.
Craig Button at TSN did his mock draft and has the Habs taking Russian center Ivan Barbashev of the Moncton Wildcats. The kid has size - 6' 1", good foot speed and good skills. He would fit right in with Vodkov, (Y) and gCHuk. My only question is can they keep him out of the strip bars in Montreal? We don't want another TiTs incident.
ReplyDeleteThis is why Vodkov is a bargain.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7HuTsySrks
Here's how the votes went this year, TFS was 4th and PleXXXe came in 7th for the Selke.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.cbc.ca/sports-content/hockey/opinion/2014/06/see-how-the-voting-went-down-for-the-nhl-awards.html
@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Talks ongoing between Habs and Gionta although other teams have called Gionta camp today as interview window opens.
ReplyDeleteSorry Giant your done with the CH. For everthing there is a season, turn turn turn. I would even try Kulimen from the leaf cause their cast off are always a double edged sword. He is only 27 was seen as a poor mans Malikan when they played together and scored 30 goals before Ron Wierd Wilson fucked him up.
DeleteR.I.P. Eli Wallach
ReplyDeletedooled do do do do do do doole do do do do do
DeleteRIP
He was a great 3rd baseman.
DeleteI kid. Actually I don't know who he is, other than he was the answer to a Trivial Pursuit question from the original box, I think. Or maybe a regular crossward question answer. Anyway, he's no George Burns, only making it to 98. RIP
In the Good the Bad and the Ugly he was Ugly. Also one of the magnificent seven.
DeleteGood actor, met him in L.A. once (airport).
DeleteThe end of an era DGMB announces his intentions for SuperPleXXXe. Whatever team Vanish signs with PleXXXe will be traded to them to help Chemistry.
ReplyDeleteWatch for the leaf to take the truckulant Nick Ritchie when they could have had Rangar Lothbrok. Richtie is another guy who likely will never have NHL wheels.
ReplyDeleteFucking Dredger saying the wretched leaf have interest in Ekblad. No shit Sherlock! What team doesn't? And just what the hell will the leaf give FLA that would equal a first overall pick? Kadri? Gardiner? FFS, get a clue.
ReplyDeleteI want some EKbald headers for my car. Can I trade up?
DeleteEvery coveted player, every coveted draft pick, every coveted UFA is sought after by the lafff, and they all want desperately want to play for the laff...been they way since I can remember, but more so in recent years.
DeleteEvery little boy who grows up wanting to play pro hockey knows that their dreams will turn into a nightmare if they are ever to be drafted by or traded to the leaf...
DeleteI mean - come on!...who dreams of working hard to be the best player they can possibly be and envisions their success at...The ACC?!...playing for a team that has won exactly nothing in their lifetime and the lifetime of their parents...??!! Now I know the Habs have not won in a very long time either...but they get a lot further down the playoff road than the leaf...mostly...
DeleteAnd so, in conclusion, I can very safely say that any young up and coming player who is worth keeping an eye on, scouting even, has never wanted or dreamt about playing for the leaf!
I bet a case Moosehead beer and a bag of Grand Manan dulse that GMMB pulls the trigger on a trade this weekend that will surprise the shit out of everybody, including insidredger.
ReplyDeleteIs there a Huberdeau in the mix?
DeleteP.K. Subban: The restricted free agent seems to be everywhere these days, from the red carpet at the MMVA awards to the cover of Maclean’s magazine. He has become one of the faces of the NHL and one of the most popular players in Montreal. There were times during the regular season when Subban seemed to be a victim of coach Michel Therrien’s tough-love approach, but the 25-year-old defenceman was one of the keys to the team’s playoff success. Subban’s agent, Don Meehan, told Postmedia’s Dave Stubbs that he would be meeting with Bergevin at the draft this weekend to set the stage for moving contract talks to the next level.
ReplyDeletehttp://o.canada.com/sports/p-k-subban-at-top-of-habs-gm-bergevins-agenda
http://pksubban.com/news/article/carey-price-p.k.-subban-deserve-recognition-on-nhl-awards-night
ReplyDeleteHow far from the cup are we? Quick VS Price its a wash.(atdvantage Price due to quality of D) Doughty VS Subban, advantage Doughty but PFK has never had the support for his game that Doughty has. Then look forward, we got nothing. We got gCHuck potential, we got LEGO building blocks, we got RBQ with the gas on and we have Patches figuring out how to be great not good. I say lets get rid of D men who are heroes because they are warriors at trapping the other team in our
ReplyDeleteown end. Chocula was always about that perfect defensive shell. The game today is not to play in your own zone. The Rags beat us with this. The big crease clearing D man is a dinosaour and I predict that DGMB will trade Tinorti to the leaf because they are still in the dark.
In women’s second-round action, Canadian 13th seed Eugenie Bouchard of Westmount, Que., defeated Silvia Soler-Espinosa of Spain 7-5, 6-1.
ReplyDeleteRaonic won too.
DeleteI've been meaning to comment on the pic o' da day: Perky.
ReplyDeleteIt has been perky all week.
DeleteMy guess at our pick Nikita Scherbak or if SuperPleXXXe is still Hab at pick time David Pastrnak. One of the three Plaid, Bo or TinTin will not be living in Habsburg or the Hammer come Saturday.
ReplyDeletePrayers go out to Odjick.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/527967
Michael Farber reports that the Habs have been fined for their handling of Weise concussion. I previously heard or read somewhere that they were also fined for not sending PatCHes to the room when he was hit by Iginla.
ReplyDeleteHow's the tan?
