  2. NEW YORK – Montreal Canadiens center Tomas Plekanec, Minnesota Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper and Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending Oct. 12.

FIRST STAR – TOMAS PLEKANEC, C, MONTREAL CANADIENS

Plekanec tied for the League lead with four goals (4-1—5), helping the Canadiens pick up a trio of road wins to open the season with a 3-0-0 record for the first time since 2005-06. He began the season with two goals, including the game-winner with 42.9 seconds remaining in regulation, in a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs Oct. 8. Plekanec then scored Montreal's lone regulation goal in a 2-1 shootout win over the Washington Capitals Oct. 9. He closed the week with 1-1—2 in a 4-3 shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers Oct. 11, marking his first three-game goal streak since Oct. 25-29, 2010 (3-1—4). The 31-year-old Kladno, Czech Republic, native is playing in his 10th full NHL season and has compiled 180 264—444 over 682 regular-season games.

  24. As you may know, I kinda like ripping on the CotU-based mediots. Now that lnet has secured the next 12 years (I think in year 4 they will sell a big portion to tsn) for our eye and earballs, I think they should lead everything they do, web, tv, radio, porn ads, etc. with a disclaimer that all their staff's comments, articles, scribblings, mouthpieces and various assaults on intelligence, should be balanced with the fact that they are MLSE-owned, leaf-biased and will continue to choke the living $hit out of the TML with disregard to any hockey fans that aren't leafools. Sadly, I add Stephen Brunt to tis group.

Guess I was wrong about the free Center Ice. Can't watch this game, sounds (reads) like that may not be a bad thing.

Still, Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone and yes, I enjoy my boys everyday and now the grandsons as well.

Regarding the Habs, I thought they would start the season 0-5. These first three wins were unexpected, by me anyway, and I TOTALLY enjoyed that win over the fucking putrid leaf.

    Later all.

  62. It's all juce's fault for not being here

let's just pretend this game never happened, and get on with it. 4 games in 6 nights on the road to open the season, what are you gonna do. we'd all take 3-1 fort that

    ReplyDelete
  63. I rarely go to their stupid site anymore, but thought I'd check. Yep, tsn wasted no time getting this story up front and centre.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is odd how every time the Habs win the story somehow gets lost (incl comments) yet when they lose it's up in real time with the bashers' hate speech all ready to go.

  64. Okay, time for jammies pillow and blankie.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Whatever, Tampa. It's not that serious.

    ReplyDelete
  66. also 8 foot tall goalies should be illegal

    ReplyDelete
  67. Well, can't argue with winning 3/4 on the road to start the season (esp. 4/6 nights). After 4 games:

Offence: Flashes of brilliance, but seems lazy.

    Defence: Young and sometimes dumb

Goal: Not nearly as sharp as needed.

Now kill the broon and set things right. (Sidenote: Are we taking bets on who they attempt to injure first?)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sorry guys and gals...I couldn't make it last night, and when you combine that with no juce and an 8 ft. goalie it spells disaster. But on another note - 1 shot on goal in a period is never gonna win you much. Tampa had more shots in the third than the Habs had in the entire game!...just saying...No bring on the B's...

    ReplyDelete
  69. the Maritimer6:45 AM

Meh. It's a long season. Nobody goes 82-0.

Bruins are 1-3, leaf 1-2 so fuck off mediots and leafools.

  77. Hey Guys! Haven't you heard Eric Staal is on his way to Toronto! Of course he is!

TSN/CotU mediots, do us a favour and just 'report' that every player in the history of the league is on their way to the leaf. It's even more pathetic because even though these guys 'report' this stuff every other day, when was the last time anyone notable actually went to the leaf? Honestly, I can't think of anyone, whether it's a trade or a signing. KesselCam? Is he really notable?

    ReplyDelete

  79. Its very clear Thursdays game is the season. Its the most important game of the year this week. We should be positive because the TFS TOKER is vapour for goals. Some shifts our five on five looks like the PP for long stretches. We should be worried because our D looks like Elboa. 70% chance it will kill you, and for sure going to make you sick.
