  1. My hope against hope is that we do not let this nutjob change Canada for the worst. I have disdain for every religion. But know people of all faiths are good people. I am sure 99% of Muslims are more horrified by these events than 100% of Canadians. I have traveled this world, and despite the attempts of people seeking share, we are all the same under our skin.
The real world is horrified by the attack on Ottawa. Because despite our ego thinking it was so, the world really looked to Canada to be sane.

    1. Here here, Steve. I expect Harper to live up to his declaration that Canadians will not be intimidated. I am not intimidated, I am not afraid. These men (including the one in Quebec) failed. They can never win, because Canada is too strong to be broken. Our next step is to ensure our leaders remember that so we don't end up with the Patriot Act 2.0 or NSA on our phones. Nutjobs like this can never destroy us, but we can destroy ourselves if we don't remain vigilant.

Take nothing for granted. I've been all over the place, but there is no doubt that Canada is the greatest nation on Earth. But it's up to us Canadians to keep it that way. With Glowing Hearts!

  4. We need some happy thoughts. Perhaps this video of a zookeeper attempting to give two pandas their medicine will ease our nerves.

  17. A lot of my family live in Ottawa and thankfully none of them were hurt. I watched as they came back into the House of Commons today and was extremely proud to be a Canadian. Wherever we may roam! Go Habs Go!

  18. Not surprising how torontosportsnetwork focuses on 'leafs witnessing tragic events' headlines but no screaming headlines about the Sens who were the home team.

  22. Bruins also sang our anthem before the game. Each NHL team is expected to honor Canada and Cpl. Nathan Cirillo prior to their games this week to show support.
