  1. WOW! Subban earned the 'F' in PFK last night! Just watching the hi-lites this morning and Subban interviewed after the game focuses on the fact he's gotta stop taking bad penalties to become a real leader on the team. I think that alone sets him on course of leadership! Fwiw I actually think gCHuk's goal was far more impressive. I like this team. Gilbert has underwhelmed me so far. Weaver's been quiet. Price had a great game last night. So did Pickard, good on the kid.

Nice to see Romanuk back from his European exile. Refreshing, unbiased calling from both he and MJ. I'll take him or Randorf over any of the leaffools any day thank you Rogers.

      +1 on Romanuk and Randorf.

It's early days yet for the D. They'll get their shit together.

  3. Completely random, but from a conversation I had with a friend today I did some minor research about the parity in the NHL.

Out of the 16 teams currently in the East, only 3 have not made the SC final since 1993. That would be Columbus (which is unfair since they've only been in the league since 2000 and in the East since last year), NYI (no surprise) and of course the leaf. Nice company you keep there, you fucking losers. Not that the Habs should be too arrogant because you can add MTL to that list (and no others) if you make the cut off 1996. So 12 of the Eastern teams have made the finals in 18 seasons (not counting the lockout year of course) since 96.

In the West it's a bit more complicated. Since 2000 6/14 teams there haven't made the Finals. But a lot of them are new or relocated, or re-relocated (Minny, Winny).

Also, who has the second longest SCF drought (we all know the leaf have the longest)? St. Louis since 1970.

Anyway, just found it interesting. Mostly because it makes the leaf look really bad.

  4. Last night was the first game of the season that I have seen from beginning to end and I wax impressed overall. The Habs were skating and working hard on cycling in the corners. TFS played well and PFK scored a couple of impressive goals...that being said I think he could have done more on the first Avs goal. But never mind that...it was a great win and the leaf lost too. I watched on game centre and was trying all the special cameras they offered...not really worth it I would say. I mean...who wants to watch from the corner all night anyway...I don't have a studio switching console so it takes some time to do it and you kinda lose the flow of the game. Go Habs go!

  5. It was a entertaining game and with TFS, PFK and gCHuck we are guaranteed excitement. I am concerned our 3rd and especially fourth lines are not Cup caliber. I understand the LEGO line is getting more tough time than last year. I would like to see Carnival and Chip with 3D on the fourth. Charger seems to have lost his carburetor. He still brings a special element to the table, maybe try him instead of RBQ. Little Davey should not be on the first PP. He is a great passer and thats about it. I would put Lego out there and telll him to build a wall in front of the goalie, it would not hurt to try Tin Tin in the Shaved ape position.

On D we are par for the course, let TFS stop it. The offense side is better than last year, and we are not getting trapped in our own end nearly as much as before. Very encouraged by the play of Tin Tin, now lets get the Bo Hunk tuned in. I do not want Tin Tin fighting, that Charger and Moemens job for now. Especially that staged fight with the Avs goon.

  6. They have these segments on AC called "la tite chambre" where a guy voices over interviews. If you understand French, they are damn funny. Here's one from last night with Gio and Gorges and life in Buffalo.

  7. Reports saying Canadian teams 'stink' is just wrong, clearly he's paid by mlse and ignores the existence of the Canadiens who do NOT stink.

My two cents: put Bounival with Lego and PleXXXe Jr and put Weise in for Moen. Give RBQ a few games in the press box, it seemed to motivate him last season.

  9. So I watched all those "Get closer to the Habs legally" videos, and it was bothering me where the 'creepy' guy was from. Just realized it's Jay Baruchel, the guy in all those Seth Rogen movies (and Million Dollar Baby). You guys probably knew that, but it feels like an epiphany to me right now.

  13. LA Kings Voynov suspended indefinitely following his arrest for domestic violence.

  14. "Los Angeles Kings defenseman Slava Voynov has been suspended indefinitely from all club activities pending a formal investigation by the NHL following an arrest Monday morning on charges of domestic violence.

According to the official release from the league, the suspension was levied under Section 18-A.5 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, which states that, during the pendency of a criminal investigation, “The League may suspend the Player pending the League’s formal review and disposition of the matter where the failure to suspend the Player during this period would create a substantial risk of material harm to the legitimate interests and/or reputation of the League.”

Voynov will continue to be paid by the Kings throughout the course of the investigation."

I'm just curious why they didn't suspend Varlamov when he was arrested.

  19. TSN has apparently dropped all the pretense of being a national site and has now launched "Leafs Week", a weekly column that "talks about all things blue and white". I would say I look forward to their "Jets Week", "Oil Week", "Habs Week", etc., but who are we kidding.

All my leaf friends are plastering facebook with all sorts of pro-leaf crap, hyping them up. You do realize your team is terrible, right? They do not. Tickets are being resold for hundreds of dollars. Everything is the same in leaf land. And we laugh and laugh.

  20. I've removed that useless site from my favourites bar (excepting the predictor pool). They can officially brand themselves Toronto Sports Network...I don't give a flying fuck. The sportsnet site is marginally better content-wise and about 1000% better in terms of design.

By the way, whichever 'national' journalist you decide to read, watch or listen to, you'll learn that the Habs are 'lucky' to be 5-1 having to come from behind in all of their victories.
