Als start out 1-7, end up winning division, I think. Congrats boys.

  10. Had stiploin steaks (fried not grilled - waaay too wet out) loaded baked potatoes and corn for supper. Watching the Pats put a beatdown on Peyton and the Broncos, getting ready for the Habs to do the same with the Flames. Can't beat it.

  18. Love that Simpleton has to point out several times that the Habs didn't deserve the win against the Flames last week, yet thought the leaf had, and I quote, "their best game of the year" yesterday against Hawks. 26 shots against in the 3rd.

Calgary looks like the Red Army team circa 1975. Why? The dumb fucking coach obviously can't get them ready for a game. Hartley doesn't seem to have a problem motivating his players. Therrien is just a bully, not a coach. This team is soft as shit. It's not on the refs tonight. It's the brain dead bully behind the Habs bench.

Very very strange for a small speedy team that doesn't play very physical.

    2. You might have noticed that so far, I have stuck to my promise not to slam a certain someone for any number of things...and I remain committed to holding that promise...for the time being. The Habs are stil 8-3-1 after all...

On another note - or maybe the same note played under water... Boone brings up an interesting stat about the Habs...when a team has an 8-3-1 record and a minus-4 goal differential on the season, something does not compute...and I have to agree...discuss amongst yourselves...

      Delete
    3. The goal differential doesn't bother because of the two blowouts. The way they played in those two blowouts is more worrisome.

      Delete
    4. Good point Moeman. I still haven't seen the lowlights of the game yet but will do so later today. I think I'll start being even more worried if the lines keep getting juggled around again. That didn't help anyone last year and there is not huge difference in the the main players this year...sure there are a few new faces but players like Malhotra are role players who need to play their roles (face offs, penalty kills). But if you start fucking with KidG and GCHuk and Lego and Plexxe...and even Patches, you are dicing with some serious shit that is going to start unbalancing the boys...this happened a lot last year and I don't want the Habs to return to that place again...because it will bring me back to that place I was...and I did not like it Sam I am!...

That's another thing, for the love of God, can't MB find an actual No. 1 center somewhere? Anywhere?

      Delete
  71. the Maritimer11:45 AM

What pisses me off is this: Old School thinking.

Look at Calgary's lineup. Young, fast, enthusiastic. I didn't know even half of them. They hemmed Montreal in pretty much all night. Hartley, supposedly another old school coach has no problem playing Monahan, Gaudreau, Jooris, et al. The Bully, however, banishes Bournival and Sekac, refuses to put Galchenyuk at center for more than a few shifts and is still playing mind games with Eller. Bourque is useless and has been since he arrived in Montreal. He didn't want to go there in the first place and has sulked ever since. They didn't need Moen last night. Calgary, despite Burke's penchant for toughness, are a skating team. Last night was a perfect opportunity to insert the two young guys. The Bully couldn't see that, he's a coaching genius don't you know?

I know, 8-3-1 is a good record. I hope it's not a false image. But, these slow starts and listless play indicate something is not right. PK got embarrassed last night, Emelin is not a good partner for him. Markov is the better fit. Tinordi is further along than Beaulieu. Why sit him? I hope MB steps in and makes some personnel decisions shortly. The coach seems incapable of doing it.

That's my nickle's worth (they don't make pennies anymore).

      Agree.
There is a malaise around this team and you have fingered the source.
He has been praised for the decisions he has made that have turned out well but I think he just gets lucky.
I am not a fan of His Flashyness but something is up with him.
Is it just a letdown from such a quick start, I don't know but the last few games have been difficult to watch.
As the know in hogtown it's never too early to jump on the coach.
      I've never been a MT2.0 fan.
I find him too conservative and very bland and unimaginative.
A reflection of our power play.
      Go Habs!

    2. Eddie Shore who Google does not even know was a legendary hockey coach. Most famous for teaching his goalies not to flop. He would put a larret around their neck and tie to to the crossbar, tight enough to ensure chocking.. Anyway he also said of the PP " I dont care about much, but I demand the center on the PP be taller than the goales pads".

They should write one that features how the cockroaches and mediots biasly pump a certain team's tires regardless how the rest of Canada's teams or the entire NHL succeed vs the results of hockey fans outside the gta and the mediocrity that actually exists with in.

  77. You can almost see the crew at TSN rubbing their hands at the Habs' "collapse" when they did their weekly ranking. I know it doesn't mean anything, and only serves to highlight their glaring bias, but they have the Habs at middle of the pack with the 2nd best record in the league. Fine, they haven't been playing well. But one reason they give is that they haven't scored a PP goal in 6 games. That is concerning, but they also fail to mention they've only gotten 10 PPs in that time. Just a reminder, the Flames got six in their last game against the Habs.
