Good morning FHFers, I was out last evening, but I set the pvr up and watched the game in it's entirety before I went to bed. Not feeling the best this morning but had to make a few comments.

Probably the most dominating game the Habs have played this season.

Dale Weiss showed up pretzel big time. Thank you Mike Gillis.

N8's second KO of the season. The former Saint John Sea Dog and Memorial Cup champion is going to be a force in the NHL in the not too distant future.

Super Sexy Friday moe, you never fail to deliver.

Thanks to HF29 for leading the charge last night.

Now, you have to excuse me... the bathroom is calling.

  5. And another point worth talking about here...CHip and fuckin' Cakes are suddenly a revelation aren't they!! Imagine that - play the youngsters and watch them actually play hockey instead of trying to remember a "system" - look what happens! Fuck all you choculaholics out there. Hockey is a game not a system!

    Go Habs Go!!

  8. Because I watched the game at work during breaks and FFing through parts (as per usual) I decided to actually sit down and watch it totally tonight. What a treat. It's just November, but let us have this, hockey gods!

Still a tough schedule coming in the next 2 weeks or so. Lots of work to do. Hope they keep that intensity level up.

  9. By the way, it's all well and good that Weiss got a Gordie Howe hat trick (on like 5 minutes of ice time) but shouldn't there be a new name for someone who does it with a penalty shot? I'll leave it up to the historians to find out whether it's ever been done before, why not the "Dale Weiss Hat Trick"?

Just another chapter in Montreal Canadiens lore.

    1. I like it. Howe after all only ever did a Gordie Howe hattrick once...twice (thought i ought to check ). Should just call it The Weise and can be a verb where the opposite team has been Weised. Have we given him a proper nickname? I'm thinking BK for BroonKiller.

    2. "Dutch Gretzky Hat Trick"?

  10. So, I heard Marinaro simulcast with boston radio earlier and the guys in boston told him that Canada needs to fix their economy, the weak Canadian dollar is directly responsible for them having to trade key players to Canadian franchises.

    Cap management, anyone?

I listened to that, fucking hilarious. What a bunch of morons those Boston radio guys.

I forgot, this is how stupid those clowns are: they let Iginla walk (to Colorado) and traded Boychuk to the Islanders. Last I heard those two teams were still in America. Losing those two hurt the B's a lot more than they will admit and trading Tyler Seguin for Loui Eriksson and spare parts is going to bite them in the ass big time.

    3. Iginla was a huge source for their $4.3? bonus-overage penalties counting against their cap this season.

    1. I agree with that. It's clear from the replay that it wasn't intentional, and it was more of a Gilbert fall. Just glad he's ok.

  15. Pens 2-1 over leaf.
Pens have the top? PP in the league and didn't score in 3 and the leaf couldn't score in 6 vs a backup goalie who was only playing his 3rd NHL game.

    1. Love the TSN headline for the game:

"Pens survive late flurry to edge by maple leafs"

You mean when they left the net empty and got 2 shots in the last minute? Like every other team in a 1 goal game? Sometimes I really think the same people write for fox news as tsn. A very interesting take on reality.

    2. Also noticed the had the 'running updates' as the did last leaf game, I suppose they'll do it again today when they face the Sabres.

The Philthy Phuckers are no longer as philthy. No Pronger, no Hartnell, etc. has taken a lot of bite out of their game. Guess it was all Holmgren behind that shit.

Glad the leaf lost, the mediots had visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads after this latest streak. Phat Phil and Pylon will bring them back to reality.
