  4. Happy birthday The M! And lehab! Apparently it was Vodkov's birthday today?

Reading the various internets on the leaf game, it is SO UNFAIR that they now have a 7 game road trip. The league is against them and they should have turned down the World Juniors. SO UNFAIR!

Just to note, the leaf just played LA, ANA and VAN on tail ends of 6-7 road trips. Heck, the Habs are starting a 5 game trip this week. The leaf have played 22/33 games at home, have only had two 2-game trips thus far and only left EST zone once.

    BUT IT'S SO UNFAIR WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  5. Happy 60th the M! Nothing better than celebrating a milestone on the back of a Habs win and a leaf booing off! Enjoy the day!

    Thank you! Merci! Everyone!

The Habs and the Philthys gave me an early present last night. Orangeman nailed it, the fucking leaf have had a cake walk schedule so far. The tears will be flowing in the CotU soon enough. Delicious tears.

Cool! Thanks moe, I've never had a web page dedicated to me before, it's much appreciated. Went out for Sunday brunch with the family this morning, had a fabulous time. I'm a lucky man. Lucky to have such good on-line FHFriends as well!

  7. What a night...happy bday the M! Happy Solstice all. I think my wife and daughters are planning on engaging in some type of wicken ceremony at 7:03PM local time when solstice hits. I'll ask if they can throw a little good mojo the Habs' way. Not sure it works that way...

Ended up dvring the game as had some unexpected guests. We celebrated the M's birthday early too. Way too hard and way too long. Wait. What? That's what she said...

Anyway, fucking fuzzy today. Gotta watch some nfl and see if I win my league. Fuck the fucking wretched leaf and broon. Good to see the boys on top of the Atlantic and the leaf starting a nice mid-season nosedive.

Great song moeman! Was it #1 this date in '54? Checked. Mr. Sandman apparently. That works too. Better than mine - Dizzy by Tommy Roe...I don't know that song.

  8. M at 60 wow. Congrats Buddy for making it so far. Thats my first thought knowing all the people so great that never went so fan no matter what the circumstance. You got to know that making it to sixty is like kind of a hunger games thing, your odds of making it to 80 are greatly improved unless the MAN takes notice and percieves you a threat and then I am afraid your going to be living with me.

    2. Not going to happen in a straight way in our collective lifetimes. However there is one thing that could happen, an heavnly intervention, something to give the world hope that the shitstorm of the ruling assholes is over. I have to say I am seeing some constipation every day. Little thngs adding up like TFS, LEGO and gCHuck. Then you throw in some good luck like CAKES, PFK and maybe Ghetto,, Kid G is already a certified miricle of the draft..
If you have ever wasted years of your life playing civilization you will have learned a few things. First of all people making games understand us way better than we understand them. Second everyone I know want to be a God or the God or the son of God. Third a good defence is never going to win anything but will never lose territory.
We all used to know an organization overwhelmed by the third point. But now I see a team who says fuck it all, fuck you Buttman, fuck you Cotu, you set the table with us at the end of the slant, but it does not matter
because we are the Club du Hockey Montreal. Not to take away anything from the horror and triump of D Day so wonderfully recreated in Saving Private Ryand and so many video games, but when the club hits the beach
the West coast is going to shake.

  9. Nice bonus as I didn't think the Steelers would make the playoffs (about 6 games ago). They are looking good and so is Seattle. SF couldn't be a bigger disappointment.

  18. Oh, Edmonton. Gave up a 5-2 lead, tied in the 3rd now. Seguin with a couple of goals. Love reminding myself that they traded him away (along with two other high picks) for fat phil. Just looked that up to see who else the broons got in that trade and the mediots are still trying to convince themselves that they won that trade.

  19. Speaking of the Hawks, have you seen their 80s workout video? It's....strange. But hey, you get to see Toews in short shorts.

  20. Anyone have the numbers on which team (not teams) has been way-over-fucking-showcased on sportsnet's Saturday HNIC national game, Sunday Hometown Hockey national game and Wednesday Rivalry/Hockey national game? For fun add the NHL 'legends' that they've had on those home town hucksterisms hosted by mclame.

I'll hazard a guess. The Toronto Maple Leafs. Legends? I'll admit I haven't watched all the Hometown leaf hockey segments but I saw Gilmour tonight, probably Wendel and any other 3rd rate player who's pulled on the blue and white.

  21. Chicago just played Head Like a Hole by Nine Inch Nails between whistles. That's not a song I would expect at any sporting event, but as a NIN fan I'm pleasantly surprised. Chicago is edgy! And retro (it's from 1989 I believe).

  25. Ugh, broons tie it late. But it was Dougie Hamilton, who was one of the other players taken with the picks the leaf gave to boston for fat phil. So that sort of makes up for it.

That's three good beatings in a row now for the the CotU darlings, the fun is just beginning. To think just a few days ago the mediots were planning the inevitable Cup victory parade but just as Moey and others have predicted here comes the collapse.

  29. Ya know, in theory...stay with me here...in theory I'd like the leafs to make the playoffs because I'd much rather have Canadian teams in the playoffs than not. And the potential for a Habs/leaf series would be something. I was 10 in '79 so don't quite remember those games. But as has been said before, it's more a problem with the fans and even moreso the mediots that just make me sick. The 24/7 coverage they get when on a meaningless 8-1-1 streak in Nov/Dec is NOTHING compared to what would happen should they grab a playoff spot. And the fans, because they swallow the fucking swill fed to them by the mediots are just clones of said mediots.

See, I'm a hockey fan and I can even admit there are aspects to the leaf game that I like and a few players under the right circumstances I'd take on the Habs (hint: not Kessel, Kadri or Phaneuf). But the media make it so effing hard to not hate those guys. I'm a big sports fan in general, so will continue to frequent SN (not tsn, especially since their website rebuild). But I don't have to click on an article when it's just a giant fucking photo of Brendan Shitahan with the headline "The self-education of ..." WTF.

As a Patriots fan, I would say NFL fans feel similar towards the Pats. Hell, I get a bit embarrassed about the gushing NFL 'analysts' do over Brady and the Pats (unlike leaf fans eating it up). But I'm not comparing the Pats to the leafs. More like the Pens I'd say. Crosby and the Pens get a lot of over coverage in the US of A. And like the Pats, they're perennial contenders at least, though also like the Pats, haven't won shit in years. Yeah so never mind. San Diego is the only other city I can think of that's sadder than CotU - neither the Chargers or Padres have ever won (I have a soft spot for the Padres - they entered the league with the Expos). *Chargers may have won a pre-NFL championship in AFL. Yes, 1963 though.

Done ranting. Bottom line. leaf suck. And in the end, probably best if they continue their course towards the perennial cliff and keep on going. That provides the most entertainment.

    Good morning.

    1. Paddy I am with you on meeting the leaf in the playoffs, and we should have some kind of format where a leaf vs habs Cup is possiblel, though highly unlikely. I do not like the way it is where all the Canadian teams cash out befrore making the playoffs or in the first round because Mericans think ED Mon Ten is teaching math Monessarti style.

As foir the NFL, I tried I really tried to love it. No I am not a CFL defender, I know I hate it. Not just the leauge but football in general. Football is an extentsion of the Sheild Wall of Rangor Lothbrok adpated for TV. It has become NASCAR without the cars.If you have the elite skills of these players I submit they should be in Syria killing ISIS. With GOPRO of course and we could watch the best feeds every Sunday. Right now I am doing a Kickstarter hiring a bunch of homeless vetrens to re enter the suck armed with video. They get no arms, they must live as the enemy picking up the lost items of both sides who are joined by circumstance as alternate universe brothers in arms. Anyway thats how I would handle the Ray Rice situation.

You can tell, deep down, Strombo enjoys it when the fucking leaf take a beating. Being a professional he keeps it to himself and other than a slight jab at Kyreidiot there's no blatant favouritism like mclame and the old crotch still bring into their schtick, like last night, the outright bag licking of Doug Gilmour. One thing I enjoyed in last night's post game was when Strombo was asking Heely and Cox if there was anything positive leafools could take from the beating .... they both had blank stares. Way to go George.

But it was an all day show, which included the Neville Brothers, Michelle Shocked, someone else I can't remember, and Joe Cocker right before Dylan. Cocker killed it so much by the time Bob got on stage many people were exhausted and were leaving. Skipping Bob Dylan! Because Joe was so amazing. It was a hell of a day, the only time I've seen Joe live but what a memory
