  1. You know you're amazing when the team willingly gives up it's record sell out streak in order to keep your seat open in memory.

Class. Pure mother fucking class our Habs are.

  2. Great SF, moeman.

  3. Love the Elise Beliveau pic.
I am so proud to be a Habs fan.

  4. I heard someone say that Stubbs had asked mme Beliveau at some point if she was tired and maybe go home and get some rest and she said 'no, we are Beliveaus'

  5. Great SF Moeman - Nice ones all round! I too am incredibly proud to be a Habs fan. They might not always win these days, but they have the pedigree of a true champion and everything they do in public exudes class. The benchmark by which all others are measured.

I will miss most of the match tonight - Company Christmas party somewhere in the City (financial district of London to you)...might be a bit messy - but the menu looks pretty good...Starter
Chinese Pearl Barley Risotto with thinly sliced Apple and Fennel Salad

    Main
Blade of Beef Served with Swiss Rosti, Parsnip Puree, Oven Roasted Chantenay Carrots and Green Beans
    -
Wild Mushroom and Cheese Macaroni Served with Sweet Potato Pont Neuf and Homemade Coleslaw

    Dessert
Scrumptious Sticky Toffee Pudding served with Clotted Cream Ice Cream

    Go Habs Go!!

  6. Great as usual SF Moeman! The new Habs take to the ice tonite in a real test. Go gCHuck Go!

    2. 29 - so you say downloading from a torrent isn't "criminal", but it is a fineable (finable?) offence? Correct? Just curious - I always thought there was no punishment in canada (guess I need to start reading some internet lawyer blog or something).

So what about sites like shush.se that offer free streaming? Think they're in danger of being raided too?

      And....GO HABS!

    3. @St Paddy this is a hockey site for christ sake. I can not think of anyone except for you who has ever made a non hockey coment:) Especially me and I think I hold some kind of corsi record in pocession. If you want to fight the man really join in a choice. Anybody but Harper! All pols are going to fuck you up the ass. As I undertand it Justin is fighting this by making lubricants no longer tax deductible. A small step but anything anti anal has to be viewed as less smelly.

    4. @Saint Paddy

A brief explanation of the law in Canada. There are 2 types of law - criminal and civil. Criminal law is when you do something bad and you have the possibility of going to jail (like steve). Civil law is when you do something bad, but you can't go to jail, but someone can sue you (like steve). "Fines" exist in both types. For downloading, you cannot be sent to jail (in Canada) but could get sued or "fined", although in civil law (like downloading) the fine would be called "statutory damages". Meaning the courts would order you to pay money to the person who sued you, i.e. the movie studio that owned the copyright on the movie you downloaded.

The free streaming sites tend to operate in jurisdictions where they would never be shut down (former soviet republics for the most part)

  9. Tweaked the thread for game day (scroll down).

Xmas partied yesterday (made some Amaretto-flavoured Xmas shortbread cookies).

No Xmas party tonight but one tomorrow (annual neighbourhood at my next door neighbour's, which doesn't mean that I haven't found my way home in the past). BYOB. Oh look Hungaria Brut!

Tonight its shepherd's pie (I like mine with lots of creamed corn and a touch of cinnamon) and some Blondes. Leftover cookies for dipping in Amaretto-flavoured milk.

  10. Also, too, the gal in the striped dress (in the header pic) is the future Mme. Vodkov. I snuck in and placed the virtual Habs fridge magnet.

    1. Good for Vodkov! Love the guy, but lets face it - he ain't too pretty. Looks more like Mr Bean than Mr Bond. But he's a beauty on the ice and that's what counts.

    1. Too much! This interview includes gems like "I think you could look at Babcock watching Kessel and Phaneuf, the two lynchpins of the Toronto team..." AND "He’s in a good spot. It’s not about money. It’s about him wanting that challenge of a dynasty (with the) Toronto Maple Leafs." And best of all “I think he’s probably watching Toronto as carefully as anything, not his own team, but Toronto, to decide if he wants to come here.”

WTF is wrong with these people. So he's now started watching the wretched leaf rather than his own team? Must be hard to ignore with such a good seat behind the bench of every game. Kessel/Phaneuf=linchpins. Ok...

      Jayzus!

  14. @moeman today i was in the SAQ and there was a coupon for a discount on di Saronno. I of course bought a bottle, because I am a Jew and thus cannot resist a discount. I need some di Saronno cocktail recipes. I do enjoy it on the rocks with a twist, or mixed with Coke which is good, or a splash in a cup of tea late at night, but I am sure you've got something good for me

    1. Talk about a di (short form!) CHallenge!

      - recently discovered that di is great in milk, both white and chocolate
      - when I make pancakes/crepes, I warm up the maple syrup with a big splash of di
      - when I make flavoured butter for the aforementioned cakeS!
      - ¾ Brut, ¼ di
      - a splish in a mojito
      - a splash in a negroni
      - pour di on a significant other (you can buy cheap shower curtains at the dollar store, if you are at an all-you-can eat/drink resort, mess up their sheets and watch how the chambermaids give you a wink)
      - when I make an Apple pie, substitute some of the sugar with di
      - ½ cran juice, ¼ di, ¼ SanPel or Perrier, lemon wedge
      - I love my Bodum coffee press and it loves a bit of di (weekends only)
      - tiramoesu ; )

      Delete
    2. - I don't like my di cold unless there's some citrus or tropical juice, replace Southern Comfort + pineapple juice with di, crushed ice
      - very good with a splash of rum
      - off topic but whilst at sanguccio's ( http://sanguiccio.ca ) for a belated Bday lunch I had, for the first time, some Vecchio Romagna as a post lunch toast, nicely smooth https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/P-8439.aspx

  15. "I always obviously want to outplay the opposing team's best defenseman. I think (Thursday) I did it for sure, (Friday is) going to be a tough challenge," Doughty said via NHL.com's Sean Farrell.

"P.K.'s a good player; I'm going to have to outplay him if we want to win the game."

Despite being one of the game's most decorated players at 25, Doughty has only been recognized as a top-three defenseman once in his seven-year career.

Great, what a time for PFK to be under the weather.

  24. Just to comment on that disgusting SN article with McLame, it's pretty sick. The piece of crap who has accomplished nothing in his professional life is implying that Babcock is being unprofessional and isn't doing his job in Detroit. Guess what you fuck, he's got his team at the top of the NHL, much higher than your beloved leaf. Whatever Babcock decides to do next year, there's no doubt he's completely focused on the Wings this year. He's not eyeing anyone else, especially a division rival (if you can call the leaf that). Stop trying to tarnish the reputation of someone much more successful and professional than you. Sick fucks.
