As a side note, this coming Sunday, December 21st is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year and so after that the days start getting longer. Yay!

  6. As James Taylor so eloquently put it in Carolina in my mind "Ain't it just like a friend of mine to hit me from behind?" Depending what your into, that can be a good or bad thing. SOA Juice wasn't caring for it 'in the end'.

    FWIW, I'm a year behind 29! Turn 46 on St Paddy's Day.

As 29 put it yesterday, there are quite a few sage pundits frequenting this blog, led by the cagey moeman (not years-wise but mediot savvy). Of course there are a few youngsters too. I'm sure Moey is only 29 (years old) not the lawyer 29 and iRiRi younger still.

  26. Saw above that moe has Korean beef. I'm not quite sure what that means since Korea imports most of its beef from Aus and USA. And its expensive. Not a lot of land to have tons of cattle farms here. Unless you mean Korean BBQ beef. Like Solgyupsal or something. That stuff is good.

If you're bored, look up "Korea beef protests" c. 2008. That's when the FTA with the US went into affect and a magazine show aired a xenophobic piece about Americans sending over Mad Cow infected beef to kill students. So, a regular Wednesday night show. Months of protests and near riots.

Anyway, that's what comes to mind when I hear "Korean beef". There's a dirty joke in there, but have you seen Korean men? Not so beefy.

  61. the Maritimer7:43 AM

Good morning FHFers! I had to watch the game on delay last night so couldn't comment. One comment caught my eye from last night, something about the Oilers trading the first overall for Price/Subban...even eklund wouldn't make that shit up. Oddly enough I was wondering myself the other day if there was any superstar forward I would trade Price straight up for. After thinking about it for a bit, I wouldn't. Not even for Crosby or Stamkos or an 18 year old supposed can't miss like McDavid. I mentioned the other day I wouldn't trade AG27 for any of the Oilers top guys, he's as good as any of them. As for DDD, I say sell high!

    ReplyDelete
  62. gCHuk was juced last night! I say the club should offer juce free season tickets - clearly a good luck charm! Great game, but still had some horrible defensive breakdowns in the early part of the third. Still work to be done. *hint - i think it might be the coach that needs the work.

  63. Where is the fucking picture. The picture of gCHuck in the dressing room grinning like a Cheshire cat balacing three pucks on his knee? What a great dilema for MT when Lego comes back. What to do with DDD and ghetto? DDD is a point machine on the third line. He has found his ceiling his hobbit igloo that fits perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. the Maritimer2:13 PM

Trade Lego, he is an anchor around MT's neck.

      Delete
    2. Thats the MT logical move, who needs a big fast center for the playoffs anyway. We have two first lines or used to, why not two third lines. Charger DDD and PAP Carnival, Lego and Chip awesome. Dress 3M for critical faceoffs but I am guessing the with his tutalge Lego is nearly as good already.

      Delete
    3. Rumour is Taylor Hall is being shopped. Hall for Lego straight up, I would do that.

      Delete
    4. the Maritimer5:10 PM

With Dallas Eakins gone, Lego might stand a chance in the Oil patch. Taylor Hall, a left wing doesn't really fit with the Habs, they already have Patches and cakeS. A RW like Eberle would be a better fit. Montreal would more likely be looking for D help which Edmonton has none. Call me crazy but with Chicago in cap trouble and Brent Seabrook's contract coming due next year (?) and with MB's connections there do I detect a match made in hockey heaven?

      Delete
  64. I sure missed this one, my son was telling me about Bernier and his comments about Mandella. He fits right in with his laff fans.

    ReplyDelete
  65. the Maritimer5:50 PM

Lego practiced on the fourth line today, oh fuck me, looks like teacher's pet is going to win.

Good luck wherever you end up Lego, you deserve better than how eMTy has been treating you. Why any coach would prefer a 5'-5" 170lb center who spends more time on his ass over a 6'-2" 215lb one who is equal in skill is a mystery for the ages.
