Not true. I care about this tournament, I've watched it for years, love the wacky ad covered uniforms, ice surface and the wide open mistake prone game. Unlike the ultra structured, rigid, coaching systems buttman NHL. If it wasn't for my love of the Habs I probably wouldn't watch NHL hockey, sticking to the junior game.

  15. "It'll be good," Gallant said after the Panthers' optional morning skate. "The coaching staff and the staff over there, I know them real well, and some of the players. Obviously it's nice to see those people back, good people I had a great time with."

    Classy man.
I guess that gives him an advantage.

I'm glad to see "Turk" doing well with the Panthers. Three time QMJHL champion and Memorial Cup winning coach for my Saint John Sea Dogs and a fellow maritimer. If he beats my Habs tonight I won't be holding any grudges.

  16. I am hearing lots of chatter about an obvious trade. Flordia has way to many young skilled centers over 6'5". They need a vetren who is good down low. DDD for Huberdeau straight up. DGMB make it so!

Huberdeau is a left wing. Hey! DDD is now a left wing, that can't be a coincidence.

in 1985 as a 16 year old, I spent a week in Saint John for the national finals of Reach for the Top (no seriously, I was on that). The entire week we drank Moosehead as underage drunken high school students, and I've been in love with it ever since.

29, I was a sub (aka the 5th) at Genies en Herbes 1978, the Franco-Ontarian version go Geniuses with Herbs, er, Reach for the Top. I met a nice gal named Amicale (from Sudbury), maybe the coolest name I ever heard. She was a spectacular long distance friend and pen pal cuz there wasn't no interwebs then.

  22. So now I hear that Manny is in the press box for Bournival (sorry I sometimes can't keep up with nicknames) why the fuck would you remove the league's best face off man for an unproven youngster - albeit one with great potential - the Habs are hardly getting 20 shots a game and ar being out hit every game they play. They need all the possession they can muster. The only pice of the puzzle missing to make the Habs a legit cup contender is a proper coach!

  32. I don't know who listened to MT's comments after the game yesterday, but he said gCHuck had a 'though game' and when asked about cakeS goal, he said something to the effect of, "Glad to see him break out of his funk". The guy just can't say anything nice about the young guys. Remember after gChuck's hattie? "Glad to see him finally concentrating on the parts of the games I've been teaching him!" Ugh.

    1. I always love it how they go out of their way to show the leaf fans in other arenas, often completely overstating their presence, yet completely ignore it for the Habs. Every game in MTL is "Half leaf fans!" which it most certainly is not, but in TOR no mention is made.

In this game...against this team - maybe...but against better teams...it's not like they are getting massive minutes on the 4th line...and that is what a 4th line player does - plays a role and gets limited minutes - any goals they contribute are gravy...or did they not teach that to him...fuckwit!

  60. All these mentions of the Barrie Colts. I used to work in that arena when I was in high school. There was a nice restaurant in there (The HorsePower Grill) where I worked in the kitchen for several years. They were pretty good in the 90s, but I haven't seen a game in years. Apparently they're good again.

  61. Ice-level audio is great. Lots of fucking swearing.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Holy fuck! Just checked the box score - the Habs actually had 20 shots in the 2nd period. 20 shots is more than they had in the entire game against the panthers. I am definitely going to listen on the radio more often!

  97. the Maritimer10:31 PM

    Excellent game!

I wonder what poor old MacT out in Edmonton would cough up for a legit number 1 goalie like the Toker? Maybe throw in Lego or KidG and swipe that No. 1 pick out of them. They could probably use a couple of veteran defencemen out there as well, I think MB has a couple of them laying around as well.

50 points for the Habs, sure looks like they are struggling for a playoff spot like some fucking moron in the Tranna media suggested today.

    1. Yeah I would like to see DBMB force MT to showcase Toker. We have fuckme in the wings and Toker deserves a shot at number one. He may be better than Jaro 2..0
