  2. "Islanders, Predators both earn 30th win in franchise-record time" 2 tough games for our boys. I think Halak sits this one.

Tamp's next 2 are Avs and Canucks, Wings face Preds and Sabres, Pens face Rags and philthy, broons face CBJ and Stars.

  3. Go Toker (or Ticker as the boys in the room apparently call him)!
Gonna be tough to get a victory - Isles are looking good.

Regarding Steve's casting comment in the last thread, there is the obvious GoT cast (good for guys and gals - my wife and girls big fans of Khal Drogo), but I got thinking back to the 80's. The Fall Guy ladies. I had the Heather Thomas pink bikini poster (you know the one I mean). And Markie Post of course. And Lee Majors...hey why hasn't Hollywood renewed the Six Million Dollar Man yet...I'm sure it's coming.

    GOHABS!

  4. I notice Hodge posted his thumbs up/down article this morning. Just for fun (i know, i know) I posted a comment which is currently awaiting moderation. I wonder if it will be approved...

"It's high time the "tank talk" stopped and the draft lottery was changed to give all 14 non-playoff teams an equal shot at the No. 1 pick."

By all 14 non-playoff teams, I assume you mean your pathetic leafs. You mean, the leafs have really sucked the past 12 years, but haven't sucked enough to get a meaningful pick in the draft. So bend the rules to accommadate the leaf level of suck. I think that's what I'm reading here.

    1. Ol' blue&white hair is one of the worst. You'd think that after being booted from his team's network for flipping a pencil that he would've flipped teams. I can only imagine how fucking braindead the daily production meetings at tsn are for these mediots.

Yeah, the leaf and their pathetic followers think they should get every advantage and preferential treatment 'cause "we are the center of the hockey universe" and "we are the richest team". You folks may or may not remember back in the early '80's the Ballard era leaf got themselves transferred to the (at the time) weaker western conference so they could make the playoffs, playing the even worse Detroit Dead Things, Minnesota No Stars, Cleveland Barons, a poor LA Kings squad, etc., etc. At the time the leaf had no chance against powerful eastern teams like Montreal, Boston, Islanders, Philly so they had to get the fuck out of the east. I seem to recall they made the playoffs one year with a losing record with like 60 points or some such. Then the west got much stronger so then president Ken Dryden got them moved back to the east where the competition was easier again. Now, they are beginning to realize their shitty team can't win with the current group leading them and know they have to tear down and rebuild, but don't want to take 5 years to do it so.... let's whine to the league that we want a shot at the No. 1 pick but we don't want to finish last to do it. On and on it goes.....

I took pleasure this morning reading the article in the Toronto Star by Ms. Dimanno, a pure "woe is us" crybaby piece if I ever read one. The mediots are obviously going through the 5 stages of grief :
      1. Denial
      2. Anger
      3. Bargaining
      4. Depression
      5. Acceptance

I'd say they are about at No.4 right now.

      Delete
    3. Good to know, thanks, If you don't mind, I may borrow some of that when the time is right and if leaf 'moderators' let it get posted. Someone posted the other day about the leaf being in the west in reference to some stat.

Alex Galchenyuk met with Michel Therrien this morning. Galchenyuk told Michel he's more confortable as a winger. So that's where he'll play.

    I think that's bullshit.

    2. Price has not been moved to injured reserve and is still day-to-day with an upper-body injury, the Canadiens confirmed to Richard Labbe of La Presse on Saturday. The club said Price will not dress for Saturday's game.

Head coach Michel Therrien said the injury isn't expected to keep Price out long-term.

"It happened in Columbus and he's day-to-day, but it's nothing major," Therrien said Saturday. "We can't confirm whether (or not) he'll play against Nashville (on Tuesday) or at the All-Star Game. It depends on how the treatment goes."

  8. I feel somewhat handcuffed by my self imposed hiatus on critiquing certain under performing non players and diminutive 3rd line centres/wingers...the key to habs winning tonight is for them to shoot shoot shoot the puck. They play a different game in front of Toker so they need to shoot shoot shoot the puck. If they try to churn this out the Isles will run fucking riot and this will be the start of the longest all star break in history. Patches has to keep shooting but the other lines have to as well. Go Habs go! I will drop in here between periods as everyone is home tonight so my wifi will be maxed out by the wife and kids.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. shoot the puck is like eating a turkey with feathers. They have to examine the ice and make smart plays where the puck should be shooted. I wish I could have recorded it but as my friend streams everything no chance. PFK and Vodkov made a out of end move that was classic. Why can not our forwards do the same fucking thing and at least get a shot on net. Look at the film when PFK goes of the farm in earlier times I would have said reservation with0out reservation. Same for gChuck. They are alone on the island. The coach needs to find more ways to put beachcombers into the fantastic individual efforsts.

The Habs have to hope the Isles, especially Kyle Okposo are tired after pumping 6 past McSieve and the Penguin last night. Otherwise, it might not be pretty tonight.

  10. "Chicago Blackhawks winger Dan Carcillo says there was no ill will in his cross-check of Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault on Friday night.
Carcillo said he does not think the hit was malicious, and referred to it as a hockey play, according to Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times."

Of course he thinks all his dirty shit are just 'hockey plays'. Just that fact should make the leaque see he has no remorse and needs to be suspended but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even look at it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not sure if the Habs will tighten up their game with Toker in betwixt the pipes. Regardless, the Isles are for real and have some offensive pop. Tavares is such a smart player. How cool is it that he isn't a leaf and even better not as lame as kadri. Go Blues!
